I have always thought about a game Rooney played vs Chelsea whilst with Everton. I remember Rooney COMPLETELY DOMINATING the game and hitting the bar but just couldn't score. And Chelsea ended up winning against the run of play. However, the highlights in this videos doesn't come remotely close to what I remember watching.

Not an Everton fan by any stretch, but loved 80s football, great memories.

This had the potential to be a great season especially off the back of 1995/96, just don't know where it all went wrong.

1997/98 - "bwa hahahahaha! Look how evil I am!" 2021/22 - "Hold my beer" 2022/23 - "Hold my vodka" 2023/24 - "Hold my cyanide!"

Watching this season makes me realize how underappreciated the likes of Radzinski was, I believe he outperformed Rooney this season but due to the age of Wayne and the natural phenomena, Radz never got enough acclaim.

Never known Naysmith involved many goals. Good player, not so good defender.

Great Everton side, denied a place in Europe because of the ban. That was probably the catalyst for the break up of this great side.

This was a promising exciting Everton team. 6th but should have finished 5th on the last day only for Arsenal to pinch two late goals against Bolton. 96/97 started with a bang too but sadly it went tits up and never returned for Big Joe...still shouldn't have been sacked/allowed to leave though.
