It's Like Heaven - Building a REEB Steezl mountain bike FULL MOVIE
A bike frame appears in a heavenly space and a mechanic is called upon to fulfill an act of creation. It's Like Heaven explores the bike building process in an environment stripped bare, where every component and every action is made manifest under a seraphic light.

Frame of Mind - Building a Yeti SB160 mountain bike FULL MOVIE
มุมมอง 3K8 หลายเดือนก่อน
The appearance of a turquoise bike frame in a darkened workshop kicks off a series of highly stylized vignettes where, bolt-by-bolt, a mountain bike is born. Frame of Mind is an up-close look at the art and craft of being a bike mechanic. - PERCEPTION MTB: I'm Scott, the guy in the video and the person behind Perception MTB. @29:59…how’d he cut the housing with the cable already in it and then still have cable to pull through?
You caught me. I just didn’t show pulling the cable back through and taking the dropper back out before cutting the housing. Just for the sake of time and to keep some momentum in the edit.
@@Perceptionmtb : haha, only caught it because that part of a build is always such a pain in the butt for me! Gorgeous bike BTW.
@@GHinWIdefinitely a massive pain taking the dropper in and out and trying to hold tension on the cable etc. thanks for watching so far into the video!
awesome keep on
Next up is a Forbidden Druid V2, I think.
Really awesome build. Love the purple and orange combo
Nice one
Incredible. 🍻
🍻
That purple. ❤
I worked with the REEB folks to pick it out. Official name is Disco Purple. It’s purple fleck with a black undercoat.
omg, so good
Thanks. It was crazy fun to make. I’ve had my eye on building up a REEB for about 18 months.
@@Perceptionmtb same! I have an SST now and I'll give her a partner next summer 😎
@@MarioXcore1that’s cool. I haven’t ridden the SST, but would love to try it.
Nice build! I have the same frame, crank, Wolftooth ring, and x0 Transmission and unfortunately had the infamous Transmission 3rd gear skipping issue. I moved the bb spacer to the non-drive side and the chain line looks better and no more skipping:)
That’s cool you have a lot of the same components. I love the eeWings. Just curious, what BB do you have on that build? I’ve had issues with different BBs creating variable chain lines due to non standardized thickness of the BBs themselves.
@@Perceptionmtb I have the Cane Creek Hellbender NEO bottom bracket. I don't think Cane Creek sells this anymore, but the shell looks like the 110.
Interesting. This build has a Chris King, but there’s another video on my channel of a Yeti SB160 build where I use the Hellbender 110. Both have the 2.5mm spacer on the drive side. The Yeti rides great, but I haven’t actually gotten the Reeb out on the trail yet to see if I get the skipping issue.
Inspiring to anyone intent on mastering anything! Why not add captions for the non-MTBers?
That’s a great idea. I’ve definitely considered it in the past. Maybe I’ll upload a caption cut. Or break out the segments and do a more education version of each with captions and overlays.
Impressive video man and sweet build!!!!!!!
Thanks! There’s a Yeti SB160 build shot in a bit of a different style on the main channel page if you’re curious.
Another great film and amazing build, so many amazing sections to get into, brakes I love, chain and drivetrain are so fun, so many incredible parts and cinematic delights. Sound design is on point!
Sick Build!! Love the videos!
Thanks. Next one should be out early next year.
Nice bike and I love the filming and everything
@@Laurinmtb thanks! The next one is dropping in a few weeks.
Awesome build 🙌🏼🚲
Thanks! I’m cooking up another one now. Reeb with Intend suspension.
Great video! Whts that rule for measuring and cutting the steerer tube? 5mm below first mark?
@@hillsidewoods I do 3mm so that you can use it with a 5mm spacer if you want to. Gives a nice low profile look, and makes it so you don’t have to put the top cap right on the stem, but you also don’t have a huge spacer above the stem. If you did 5mm you would probably have to use a 10mm spacer.
@@hillsidewoods glad you enjoyed the vid! I’m putting out the next one in September. It’s a Reeb Steezl with Intend suspension! Subscribe to get notified when it goes up.
@@Perceptionmtb thanks vm!
Dream build, thats my dream bike 😍 And the precision to the smallest details… Good job man good job
Thanks! More to come. I’m working on a Reeb Steezl video now. What are you riding?
This is amazing and really points out the fact that a great bike is a work of art and craft, a combination of so much thought and attention from so many creators put together with incredible care. In a very consumer-driven world, it really makes you appreciate all that goes into each part, which makes the ride down and up so much fun. The filmmaking here is also better than anything I have seen from any manufacturer, genuinely great filmmaking. Can't wait to see what else you do next!
Rad bike - LOVE those T-Series Brakes!
Came here from the MTB podcast. Dude - this was an amazing build and vid! Some great ASMR tingles too!
Thanks, man! Glad you’re into it. And really grateful for those guys at World Wide Cyclery. I just started working on the next one. Will be a REEB with Intend suspension.
Your precision and attention to detail is world class. Everything about this video is gold. Job well done.
Just needs a bell and streamers for the handlebars : )
So graceful, I wish you were my dentist! ;)
Thanks. I’ve got pretty shaky hands in real life, but fancy editing helps to hide it. I’ve got another build in the works. Feel free to subscribe to get notified when it’s up.
Here from MTB Podcast! SICK build!
Thanks, man! Really stoked those guys called the video out in their episode. I’ve got another one in the works: REEB Steezl with Intend suspension. Subscribe and catch it hot off the editing software.
