I own LFS and Iracing, both are good but just Iracing have the best Rating to avoid Crashers. LFS its full of Wreckers even when is a great simulator as well with great graphics and force feedback, Iracing amazing but LFS as well, by the way u have nice accent, I bet you english speaker cant do better talking our lenguages with good accent.

@pswmetalmonkey Are you serious? GTR2 is funny compared to iRacing. Its another league. Trust me, after you try iRacing, you will realize that all so called simulations are just arcades. GTR2 falls into that category. Its an arcade.

@EverySocondOfMine De hoofdprijs van de topklasse in iRacing is 50,000 dollar. Als je dan op 2 cm van je tegenstander rijd gaat je hartslag wel omhoog ja. Een (gratis) demo bestaat niet. En crashen is 99% minder in iRacing vergeleken met de demo servers van LFS. IK heb LFS 2 maanden gespeeld en vergeleken daarbij is iRacing vele malen beter in elk aspect. Kijk maar eens op PSRTV (google) in de archieven. Daar kun je races bekijken met commentaar.

@MolanoZwolle lawl waarom engels. met LFS heb je ook clans hoor. Bij mijn weten is dat geen fps. en met fear factor bedoel ik dat als je aan ht racen bent en je hebt een close combat dat je hartslag omhoog gaat. heb net gelezen dat er een demo was maar dat mensen te veel gingen crashen, jammer

@EverySocondOfMine Depending on the car setups are important yes. Own skins are possible yes. Clans? This isnt a FPS :). There are teams though. Fear factor, no idea what you mean. Though i do have sweaty hands while racing quite often. No demo. For 12 bucks you can buy a month worth of time.

To try and sum up, i have used a lot of Racing games/sims over the years... iRacing is the pinacle of racing sims full stop... Graphically it is very detailed and accurate to real life circuits. Physics are spot on. RFactor doesnt come close. The closest for real racing is LFS but unfortunatly doesnt get updated enough and therefore hasnt moved on. Yes, the cost isnt great but you can assure that everyone on the IR servers is there to race and not dissrupt. out of 10 i would say it scores.....10

@pswmetalmonkey Well, in some departments it might not, but on the front of realism it blows them away. rFactor, Live for speed and Netkar pro all 3 are miles ahead of those games.

@an0nym005e You will have to earn the right to drive some of the cars that come with the package before you can drive them. You will also have to earn that right for cars you can buy. So to answer your question, any car that does not come with the package you will have to buy.

@martyr2005 iRacing graphics are more detailed than GT5. GT5 is just very saturated with color. When I first switched from GT5 to iRacing I thought iRacing graphics sucked, now I thing they are better. Cars more detailed. GT5 is more colorful then real life. I always backed GT5 against those that said it was too aracde. Now I am one of them. Trying to play GT5 after iRacing is just not doable. It's an arcade game now. iRacing ruined me for GT5.

@sasuke1788 I play this game with max details on 3 1920x1080 monitors. I only have to decrease anti-aliasing a bit. For this review i captured it running 720P because fraps meant some decrease in performance plus i wanted to keep filesize small. However it was all running max details. Although the graphics have improved slightly over time it still will not win a lot of beauty prices. At least not comparing it to the main stream games out there.

@MolanoZwolle Isn't this all dependent on your system specs? I mean a guy who has a nuce system is going to be able to have more eye candy. Case and point would be the World Championship broadcast that is excellent quality compared to many user generated videos.

Best simulation Ever! No other racing game comes even close! Only other game that is almost as good is R Factor and Gran Turismo, but R Factor sucks graphically and Gran Turismo only has the driving down and nothing else.

I was always turned off by the price myself, but when I saw they were having a buy 1 month, get 2 free promotion, I couldn't resist. Now I'm hooked, and will definitely be renewing. It is well worth the price, and this simulation offers a sense of accomplishment and hard-earned progress like no other. This is a fantastic review of a great service, and I believe that promotion is still going on, so check it out!

Prices has come down since this review. Cars $12 and trackc $12-15. Monthly fee's from 1 month $12 to two years subscription $7,46/month. I've never paid the full amount for subscription, since there's all kinds of special offers. You get 6 cars and 8 tracks with 15 variations and have your hands full for 2-3 months.You DO want to buy faster cars, but only to find out you can't drive them fast enough to be competetive. 12 bucks to try it out for a month ain't much.

I wish iRacing was not subscription based :( I cannot afford it.

Very nice in depth review. This is going to be my Christmas present this year along with a Logitech G27. I have played Nascar Racing 2003 Season for two years now so I might be pretty good in iRacing.

I liked this game but paying 7.50 us per month is a bit too much for me.

the big disadvantage may be considered an advantage too as it keeps all the boneheads out

@99boyz If the license says you can only play it for 1 month then obviously you do care what the license says. That is the basis for your entire argument... you really don't understand how this thing works, do you? You are paying for the privilege to use the software, not the software itself, which cannot legally be provided as a product since it is not an individually constructable entity like a shoe, it is just a copy.

@99boyz Actually, you don't own Madden either. Please read the user license agreement next time you install a game. All purchased copies of games are simply licenses to use the software, since a copy is not a distinct product.

@COCONUT202 Well, on the physics side Netkar Pro seems to be close. If you want to race online though, there is nothing that comes close to iRacing. In rFactor and live for speed it comes down to the league your running. In iRacing you can find good races every moment of the day. I'd say try it for a month and see if its your cup of tea.
