The problem is you put this destination in Google maps and it'll tell you to go on that road but what they don't tell you is that it's gated off. I see that in the beginning of the video that there's the gate and I do remember seeing the gate yesterday and we ended up going on another road to see it from another vantage point. I really wish that people would respond to questions especially when you posted this 13 years ago and never answered somebody's question about how to contact the family. Please check your videos that you posted unless you're no longer around.
Learning from family and tracing the bloodline, James Caudy was family to me. Crazy to think we have history like this.
Do you have clips from 2012 Heavy Weight bouts in Short Gap?
It’s a shame since Glenwood Johnson’s death the group managing the land will not allow anyone to go see it. History lost.
He was a good man... had lots of stories
@@jackscott6551 unfortunately lost to time. I have a history channel and can’t get past only one individual to capture all of it. His legacy is being lost because those in charge don’t share his purpose in preserving it.
It’s unfortunate that now that Glenwood has passed away a group manages the land and access to see it is virtually impossible. Lost history....
I was a member of Clifton, VA Boy Scout Troop 1104 in the 1970's. Every spring, we would do yard work for people in exchange for donations. This is how we bought the nine canoes that allowed us to float the Cacapon River every Memorial Day weekend. Our first camp was at the base of Caudy's Castle. I was pleased to watch your investigation into this. We climbed to the very top of Caudy's Castle and wondered what a fight that must have been. Our version was a little more dramatic. Our story as relayed by our Scoutmaster stated that Caudey lived in the area, While he was away on day, the Indians visited and killed his family. They took after him and chased him to the Castle summit where he fought off the Indians, casting them off the top on by one until only he remained. I think I'll stick with Scoutmaster Mark Reimer's version. At the top of my bucket list is my wish to return to that River and retrace our path down the Cacapon. I would be interested to know if you have turned up anything new about Caudy or other historical happenings along the river.
Im in this school in 4th grade right now, i guess that dog has been there for 10 years.
I love these stories
James Caudy is one of my ancestors. Would love to visit the site one day.
I live in northern WV and just to hear all these stories, especially from WV.
I've planted over 500,000 red bud seeds in Texas. The wind here broadcasts the seeds as well.
Tail looks long. Beautiful dog
I live very near this place. My parents visited there when I was a young child. Can you tell me how to contact the land owners, so that I can visit it as an adult?
Karen Davies My father, Eric Shanholtz, took me hiking up to Caudy's Castle often. Unless something has changed, which is very unlikely :), anyone can hike up.
Mathew hott manages the land.. stop at omps grocery in bloomers wv ..they will point you in the right direction
In New Zealand they were called jiggers and all open except for a front panel. Never seen any people or groups doing what you guys have done in the states.

Thanks for researching this story. How would I get in contact with the Johnson family (owners)?
I hope to someday raise alpacas

Did the 66-year old man die immediately or later in the hospital?
It's not that expensive. You can buy a used speeder for under $10,000 and if you maintain it, it'll last for years.
Oh Country!
One dream of mine...when I win the Lotto. lol
I recently went to the Bhavana society for the first time. EVERYONE there is very welcoming. I can't wait to go back!
I'll be there this year!
Maybe your not as perfect of parents as you think. Maybe your social programs ( boy scouts, kick boxing, etc.) are not as wonderful as you assume. Maybe your kids don't think and feel the same way you do. Maybe you don't listen. Maybe your kids are pissed off at authority. If you treat your kids more like a possesion than a human, they may tend to not act humanely.... Your video is full of fear, and when you act out of fear, you may lose sight of your goal, which is LOVE... God Bless.
Sadu Sadu Sadu. I have been to Bhavana multiple times in the past year. it is an amazing place of peace and wisdom. - Jayantha
Mower class looks like big money vs. no money. Where is the rest of the field, a two mower race... really?

You know what, this Falconer might make a couple of mistakes verbally, but his Red-Tail is in perfect shape. Feather perfect. That's a sign that he takes good care of that bird. To me, this is a good Falconer. Kodos Mark! LATE!
He takes different dancers every tour so everybody has a chance :)
you forgot the harriers
if a pesant were to take up flconry in the middle ages he was not limited to only one species of raptor he could of flown several different birds and the hobby and the kestrel would have both been a choice he could have taken he could also chose a sparrow hawk or a goshawk only the large long wings i.e. peregirine and gyr falcons, eagles, and merlins (for the ladies) were reserved for royalty.
He came to my school today he gave me his autograph and he hugged me!
Are you sure that the Hobby was the bird they had if they were broke? I thought it was the Kestrel - hence the term "a kestrel for a knave!"
