It was the right decision not to make a sequel. The movie is perfect.
E.T. is a good movie. I enjoy these videos about the making of the movie. Steven Spielberg is something else. He's a big kid. The kid actors were treated nice. I can't get over it. Steven Spielberg dressing up as a woman for Halloween. That was funny. They don't like this anymore. A real classic.

This is my favorite Steven Spielberg movie along with Hook and The BFG.
Spielberg is a genius. He let the kids ad lib. Most directors wouldn't do that. He has such a fantastic creative imagination and a strong mix of human realism to go with it
He knows how to let people be real people and tell a story.

It's weird seeing E.T stripped back to all his components and wires!. I remember going to the cinema and seeing this movie as a kid and being amazed at how they managed to get E.T to work. There was a story a few days back that the puppet had gone under the hammer and they showed it all stripped back. Amazing how CGI has usurped this basic technology and that ET had to be built and operated from scratch and yet it worked!. It's unsettling though...it's like seeing a morgue scene with all these bits and pieces...you can understand how some alien autopsy footage can be faked when you see these exhibits. Unsettling in bits though...

Incredible exhibit. So much work and love was put into bringing E.T. to the big screen. Watching this video made me realize it was truly a labor of love and after 40 years E.T. is still king.
The most magical movie ever made. So grateful for watching E.T. on the big screen when I was 12 and being part of the magic that it created throughout the world.

Yeah, seeing the ET disassembled parts and one that essentially is rotting just made me immediately think of the Elliott quote “they’re just gonna cut him up”
