It's always a joy to listen to my kids play music but nothing compares to the times they let me play along with them. Hope you enjoy Kent's playing on this. He's awesome :-)

Grab your instrument and play along! I've left open the kickoff and there is a solo section after each verse for you to play along with. If you feel like making a video response of you and this then please feel free!
Chris Sharp plays along with Ray Charles - What Am I Living For
มุมมอง 5803 ปีที่แล้ว
Demonstration of rhythm guitar playing along with a Ray Charles classic. This guitar is louder here than I prefer but I've done that intentionally so that students can more easily hear what I'm doing.

Crushed this video was removed from TH-cam. You don’t happen to have a copy?
You made the song even better, brother. Thank you for this.
yeeaahh?
Mr. Buckner picks a mean banjo! Wow!
yes, please upload the original again. I went to find the video just today.. and well.. this version was the best. Nothing against your playing Chris, but the guitar is overpowering the original file.
Thank you Chris for doing this now I'm learning how to play rhythm like Lester Flatt I wish I would have learned this 40 years ago thank you again
Upload the original pleassseeeee!!!!
We’re lucky they haven’t found this one. I’m sorry you have to endure my guitar playing but this seems to be the only copy online.
Where is the original version of this? One of my favorites with Billy Preston.
Yup. Can you believe they removed this !!!!!!!
Complaint ........the version of this was removed !!!!!!! How is this possible.!!!; this is the greatest tribute ever to best there ever was. So so happy this piece was put back in this form . Ray. The best there ever was.
Apparently a film company bought the rights to this performance so it can be used in an upcoming movie.
Chris, I think you should publish a book on LF guitar playing. Have you considered this or talked to any publishers? It would be a good project.
Good stuff. Thank you.
Thank you
Thanks bro👍It really is amazing what you can do with just a few chords! I thought this was going to be a lot more difficult than it actually was!
Is Dan Lashbrook still living?
He sure is. Here's his TH-cam channel @DanLashbrookHotModGuitars
@@Studio607Productions Are you quite certain? His website is down....and no TH-cam or FB posts for a year or more. Do you have an email address or phone number?
Burning a little timber there George. Say hi to Brook and kids for me. Love you guys, Kelly.
You guys are good players, nice!
brilliant
Love this song just wish i could hear the vocals a little better
Hi, would you mind sending me the original file? maybe via wetransfer, I can't find it anywhere anymore...
I recommend a medium Fred Kelly Speed Pick, made of Delrin. Fast and with a sharp attack. For fingerpicks, Ernie Ball Picky Picks, which have a much sharper attack than most picks because they have sharp lips, like a fountain pen nib. With rounded picks, the pick can slip off the string.
You're welcome to recommend these but they won't work if you want to get a solid sounding tone. The speed picks are flimsy and have no way to do a good downstroke. Even if they were strong, the lack of the rounded edge makes the brightness too much for me. Any thing sharp is going to have some kind of tinny sound to it and not the sound I'm going for or recommending. So yeah, you're welcome to recommend them but I recommend exactly what's in the video above.
My father`s idol, my idol, my children`s idol... what else to say... timeless Ray!
bro that was good
Nice song chris.. I like the music and the lyrics.. ❤
Bravo!
Mighty fine picking by everybody there!😁👍
Hi, is there a way to find this video?
It used to be here on TH-cam. I did some research and found that these folks have made a movie using the footage from half of the show. I suspect that's why it was taken down and they may even come after this video. Anyways, the show was in Paris on October 8, 1968. "A Tear Fell" featuring Billy Preston. videos.qwest.tv/content/ray-charles-and-his-orchestra-live-at-the-pleyel-concert-hall-paris-part-2
Thanks for this great lesson!
My pleasure!
schitterend nummer, sterke melodie
Yes. Ray did a wonderful job with the arrangement and execution as well.
You are one of my favorite players. Do you like Dave Peterson's playing? He play's Lester style, too.
Thank you very much! I haven't heard Dave in years but I like that old 1940s sound.
Super series, like Herb Pedersen said, you keep coming back to it. I think you should make an instructional book, too. Thank you for doing this. I just taught my son this lick (Lester's lick) and it is sounding great.
Thank you so much! Comments like yours make me so glad I made these videos and give me motivation to try to find new ideas.
Marvelous
Thank you very much!
Great job Chris
Please NEVER take this series down. It is wonderful!
Thank you again, Jim. I hope they don't ever take it down. I have no intentions of doing so
Do you know anything regarding Carter Stanleys style of guitar playing? I believe its similar to Lester? He seems to have a strange “pinch” motion in his playing…
I honestly don't know anything at all about his playing. I haven't spent a moment studying it. Lester's style was enough to keep me more than busy (still is when I study him)
Hey loved that brother. Ibalways jam to Jerry Lee lewis version but this one is on my to do list. Thanks
Thanks for listening
That edit is pure gold
Thank you!!
Lol you and my dad have the same name! #twins!
Nice.
Thanks!
