Hahaha!! This made me smile. Every time I watch bus videos I get teared up with emotion cause of what our bus drivers do for us to keep us safe. As a working adult myself, this brings back memories of riding the bus back in preschool. Well, now an adult I still ride the bus to and from work. My days are revolved around riding the bus. That is the way I get around beings that I don’t see. I am totally independent and ride the bus. Back in my first bus ride to and from preschool my bus driver’s name was Janette. She was wonderful and loved me to death. Never had any kind of problems with the bus driver even back in school. All the bus drivers showed me the way back in school and helped me to figure out directions. But back in preschool Jannette was the first bus driver I had. Her bus was bus 14 and it was a small bus but it was pretty loud. A gas powered one actually. Then as I got older riding the bus to and from school I met all different drivers and each and every one of them were super. Even now riding the bus to and from work and making the bus a part of my day in some way or form I have it say commuting is my favorite part. Even as a working business guy now to this day, I still love riding the bus. People ask me what is the best part of my work day and of course it is my job, but it is actually riding the bus. Makes me feel good. Bus rides across town or up to other parts of the state to go to work just is so relaxing. My mom told me that when she saw me off on the bus back in pree school she cried the first day to see me off on the bus. My bus rides back then to and from my school were over an hour to and from school. Most people are on the bus for maybe 20 minutes maybe a half hour or 45 minutes at max. But sense i lived in Chicago I was bussed in from the outer part of the city. It took well over an hour to and well over an hour back. I remember so much of that bus like it was yesterday. I got to sit in Jannette’s lap I remember one morning befor going to school and she let me sit their behind the wheel. She explained what bus we had and that it was her regular bus. She told me that it was bus 14 that she had. I could go on and on about this but all the memories I have that bus from years ago. I don’t recall having a backpack though I do remember carrying a metal lunch box. Those were back in the day. Now days I have a backpack that carries my lunch and it is insulated for commuting. Then I have a brief case or dozen of them. Hahahaa I have different ones that I take to and from work. Every time though I ride the bus it makes me think of my first bus rides though for some reason. I have shared that with some of the bus drivers. It is amazing what we do in our adult life it can trigger memories from our child hood. I remember one time the bus driver took me home to her house for dinner. Her husband was on the bus sometimes but she had a bus attendant usually and her name was Louise. These things stuck in my memory and I carried them in my memory. Her husband’s name was frank. They were Italian. I remember one hot summer day she took the bus over to an ice cream shop and she bought the bus ice cream. Frank one day brought some Italian. Bread on the bus for me to try. Then the last day that I was living in Chicago, Jannette came over with Louise and saw me off as I was getting ready to move. She was crying when she saw the truck getting packed. I remember too one winter she gave me a jacket. Amazing times back then. Now these days I ride the bus to work and from work of course. Totally different times but same kind of thing but in work time. Oh and one other thing. I remember in preschool, waiting out with Linda colson my preschool teacher we waited for the bus to get to school so I could get back on it to travel back home. It took time for the bus to come back to the school so we waited out in the hall for it. I remember one time that the bus driver actually came in to the classroom to get me to get on the bus. that only happened one time. We were waking up from a nap and we would lay on these little Matt’s on the floor hahaha. The only time I think I didn’t actually ride the bus was the afternoon of my preschool graduation. I remember taking the bus in that day but my parents drove all the way into Chicago to attend my little graduation ceremony. They decided to just take me back home sense they were their. That day,,,, I don’t know if the bus actually parked at the school believe it or not. I don’t think that Jannette and the bus were their sense it was graduation. She might have been their after we had left I don’t know though. I did also have quite a bit of field trips back then to go to the Meuse I’m of science and industry. That was a huge museum. Little did I know that Jannette introduced me to what I would bee doing for the rest of my life. 😂❤
