Very nice, even if it is an old video. To protect your hands from the heat, buy a cheap pair of welders gloves made of leather. A pair of wool gloves can help, but not as good as leather.

That's a great idea! What type of wood did you use for your jig? Have you ever tried to shrink it in a hot oven?
