The name is LondenTower and i make TH-cam Video's just for fun. (Don't take it too seriously!)
Outrun 2 On Cxbx-Reloaded: Build Ci Bfb1009
My dad's OG Xbox HDD had gotten bad sectors and have to put a new one in, but really wanted to play OutRun2 Xbox edition again, so i decided to look into Xemu and Cxbx-Reloaded aaaand.
They both have their problems.
Xemu:
-pros
Accurate sound emulation.
Can run games directly from .iso files.
-cons
Absolutely terrible framerates, even when trying to optimize.
Controller rebinding... What controller rebinding?
Cxbx-Reloaded:
-pros
Runs okay, even at higher then official resolutions! (Hence it's 1080p 60fps)
Controller rebinding is very similar to that of the Dolphin Wii emulator.
-cons
Absolutely garbage sound emulation! It's like nails on a chalkboard.
Graphical glitches galore.
.iso file needs to be unpacked, which also requires extra software.
Games randomly hang sometimes.
OutRun 2 does NOT return to the main menu and freezes at the end. :(
-Final verdict-
Xbox emulation still hasn't matured whatsoever!
If you really want to play certain OG Xbox exclusives, get an actual OG Xbox until emulators finally catch-up. (If that ever happens, cause PS3 emulation is even further then OG Xbox)
Also also, i had to re-encode and re-upload the video, cause it was originally an .mkv directly from OBS and TheirTube apparently just friggin transcodes those files. (Even though it's just h.264 as the actual format as .mkv is just a container format, but suuuure. With my own re-encoding through HandBrake, it all looks much better then whatever the flip YT was doing, that's for sure. The compression artifacts were just absolutely trash)

I always wanted to see this intro in 60FPS and that is now possible thanks to DAIN-APP. I also tried to upscale the video using Dandere2x, but i found out that the video was just too noisy. (maybe this got fixed in a update. I interpolated the video a few months ago. i just didn't had the time to upload it yet.) Also. I don't know why the original video has weird artifacting going on at the end...

Don't forget to TurN On CapTIoNS! And... Linus is saying that building a used pc is not a ton of work. That's probably true for the European and American market, but not for everyone else. The title says it all. It was quite hard to get this to work... i thought it would possible to change the original 30fps video to 240fps, and slow it down. That didn't work, so i edited the video in shotcut video editor to use 6fps and slow the original video down to match the 6fps framerate. How do you fix fhe steering sensitivty? i.e. top left player looks how it looks when i play with a controller, with the car acting finicky when turning Bottom right player: looks like how it should. Im guessing he was using a steering wheel. But theres gotta be a way to get the sensitivity right with a controller's analog stick. like Sega Rally 2 plays & looks perfectly fine in that regard (also using Supermodel), so why not Daytona 2 (and Scud Race Plus)? Any tips would be greatly appreciated

Wow, it's almost been 11 years ago since i uploaded this video. Where did the time go? Cause in all honesty, this is the first time in forever ago since I've watched and listened to this video. I'm going through quite a rough time right now and i had to get some solace. And boy lemme tell you, Dan Gibson's Solitudes albums never disappoint.
how long did it take you to render this video?
Not that long actually. And that was on my older PC with a GTX 1060. I can't exactly recall how long the interpolation time took, but it was quite fast, definitely under 20 minutes. (probably a lot less)

Well, it's actually not split-screen. they're all different computers running the supermodel emulator. (Some Windows and others Linux. First time i compiled something for Linux as well, Cause supermodel doesn't have any pre-made executables for Linux)

Yeah, it CAN be done. Tried it with a friend using radmin VPN. (not sure if 4 players is really viable though) It is a pain to set-up however, cause the emulator is simulating a ring network afaik and windows firewall is also sometimes a doozy and blocks the emulator without a warning.

Believe it or not, but i did try that with a friend with a piece of software called: radmin VPN and it worked okay. My friend did say his internet is pretty good, but the connection itself might be a little bit unstable. we did have a slow-down here and there, but nothing game breaking. It might even be possible to make an actual internet multiplayer setup, but that requires port forwarding on every router, and a very specific setup at that. i might give that a try in the future, but not for now.
@@LondenTower I tried that and it worked. We configured each emulator with each others public IP, then forwarded ports on my router (master emulator) and voila.. The only issue we had is that the fps went down significantly.
