With all due respect, most four star generals got last star because of battlefield service. I know one very well who flew over 150 sorties in Vietnam and became a four star because of that. None had alcohol problems or women's issues; that's why they got promoted. Hegseth is honorable but does not have what it takes. Many better options.

I don't doubt that this man has some good thing in his past but I will tell you this he's a severe alcoholic he is an abuser of women, all you have to do is listen to is interviews, too many people around him including his own Mother and his ex-wives have stated that The Man is emotionally unstable and Needs to get Help, so this guy can Talk All Day long and it means Nothing, this man is not qualified nor is he stable enough to be in charge of the largest organization in the world

It’s not required to have a SECDEF with combat experience. There are far more important requirements, such as having completed as a minimum Senior Service Professional Military Education.

Hmmm. I wonder why there's an issue with professional psychological counseling and the hokey idea of faith? I think people of faith should seek counseling if they are experiencing psychological issues. But don't put it on the professionals to have to dumb down their knowledge.
