Jonah Bonus - The Prayer
มุมมอง 873 ปีที่แล้ว
Jonah’s prayer to God can teach us a lot about our relationship with God. His prayer went through 4 stages: 1. Asking God for Help 2. Accepting God’s Discipline 3. Trusting God’s Promises 4. Yielding to God’s Will This is part of the series "The God Who Runs: a Study of Jonah." It comes from a non-denominational Christian tradition. A Better Emotion (Jonah pt 7)
มุมมอง 693 ปีที่แล้ว
At last, Jonah learns the power of God’s compassion for all people. Because of His love, God connected His heart to yours. He did that through the work and person of Jesus. 3 Ways to be a Bigot (Jonah pt 6)
มุมมอง 343 ปีที่แล้ว
Nobody is born hateful or full of prejudice. So, where does it come from? There are at least 3 ways to develop bitterness and bigotry: 1. Let your hurt turn into hate 2. Turn preferences into prejudices 3. If you idolize, you will demonize This is part of the series "The God Who Runs: a Study of Jonah." It comes from a non-denominational Christian tradition. Did Jonah Really get Swallowed by a Fish?

For many people, the fish in Jonah's story is a deal-breaker. In this bonus message, I offer a few considerations on the fish. This is part of the series "The God Who Runs: a Study of Jonah." Find the entire series at: www.FromTheFray.com/Jonah
MLK & Mercy (Jonah pt 5)
มุมมอง 273 ปีที่แล้ว
Jonah was sent as an agent of God’s love & mercy, as well as His justice & wrath. We cannot separate the two. Accordingly, Dr. Martin Luther King’s call for racial equality and social justice was firmly grounded in his belief in a God of judgment. Rowing Isn't Enough (Jonah pt 4)
มุมมอง 174 ปีที่แล้ว
In the midst of their storm, the sailors did what most of us do: they rowed harder. However, they didn’t experience peace until they surrendered, asking God to see them through. Is there something in your life you’re refusing to surrender to God? Are you asking more “why” questions than seeking to find out “what, who, or where?” “What, God, do you want me to learn?” “Who, God, do you want me to...

Who Do You Think You Are? (Jonah pt 3)
มุมมอง 224 ปีที่แล้ว
We are most cruel to those who threaten our identity. If you see yourself-first and foremost-as a product of your skin color and nationality, then you’ll rationalize discrimination against anyone who didn’t win the same genetic lottery. Christians serve a God who directs them to love and serve everyone-even those people. This is part of the series "The God Who Runs: a Study of Jonah." It comes ...
Loving Those People (Jonah pt 2)
มุมมอง 164 ปีที่แล้ว
Jonah’s neighbors weren’t like him: they looked different, acted differently, and worshipped a different god. Consequently, Jonah could not see in them any capacity for goodness. In other words, Jonah was racist and prejudicial. Through the words of pagan sailors, Jonah learned a lesson relevant to believers today: the entire world should expect The Church to seek their welfare. This is part of...
Boats Going the Other Way (Jonah pt 1)
มุมมอง 204 ปีที่แล้ว
God told Jonah to warn a bunch of terrorists about their impending doom. Jonah refused and took a boat going the other way. We have a lot in common with Jonah: including a God who loves us enough to run after us. This is part of the series "The God Who Runs: a Study of Jonah." I just recently found your video, my goodness I'm choking tears about your testimony about you surviving your accident & continuing to share your unshakable faith. It has inspired me to keep on trusting Jesus even though I'm living with chronic pain that rarely stops. The words God has given you to share have reached my despair & made me fix my eyes on Jesus more than I have done. I've concentrated on my pain instead of Jesus. God bless you for keeping on inspite of your many challenges. Like you I get up shower, get dressed, put makeup on & get going no matter the pain level. Many blessings to you❤77yr old, married 60 yrs Mother, Grnma & Great Grnma God is Good

Please see Fascia Blasting by Ashley Black. Also, oral systemic enzymes like Medizym or Repair Gold (vegan version) for pain and healing. Avoid vegetable oils- they are inflammatory. Organic olive oil is good. And Spectrum Flax Seed oil (refrigerated, don't heat, drizzle on foods). Also, avoid white sugar and corn syrup as both are also inflammatory. Honey is good. Barbara O'Neill says to have a crystal of Celtic Salt with your spring water for healthy hydration. Also, there's dietary lithium that's neuro-regenerative and neuro-protective. I have one cup of Thyme Tea made with spring water every day. There's also dietary lithium in pistachios, organic potatoes, cabbage, and nutmeg. God bless you and thank you for your spiritual encouragement. My mom loved you and your ministry. 🙏

I used to smoke one pack a day for 20 years. My son begged me for such a long time to stop that I decided it was time for me to honor his loving request. So I finally quited this habit . Years afterword, I underwent a medical exam to see what state my respiratory system was in. I had heard that after 10 years of abstinence the lungs fully recovered their functionality. But, unfortunately IT IS NOT TRUE!. My lungs are now relatively healthy but they will NEVER, NEVER lose the scars that were formed by me smoking for 20 consecutive years. I suffered damage that was not very serious but PERMANENT. I will never have fully healthy lungs again. Think about it! It is wonderfull if you succeed quitting but is is much more wiser if you never start.

Joni, as someone with chronic daily pain I just cannot tell you how comforting it is to know I’m not alone crying out to God about this as a Christian. Thank you SO much for your raw honesty about how you actually felt (wondering about assisted suicide, etc)…and then addressing that. It is more comforting to know that another Christian who has clung to Christ has also struggled with those thoughts, and has still been able to endure in Christ.

Thank God for these moments to hear some one talking about the pain with the solution. Friens, family even foe avoids not to hear you one more time grunt. You don't utter a word but when you move sounds of pain escapes the mouth & it's hard for those around you that knows about the pain but helpless to do make it go away so the human norm is to avoid the person as it takes them down the dark pit of despair as well. I realized today that I need to pray for those that surrounds me to be protected in their minds as well that they can bare the situation with out despair for me and that its not for them to try and fix it. May God's face shine on them and protect them so we can all benefit in the glorification of Jesus rather than the circumstances

Please help each and everyone of us, not only that we face our suffering in “the joy of suffering with You” … But Father, please help us to be that example and encouragement to others as well. Please help us not to fall short anymore, of serving You and enduring life’s pain without complaining, as a representation of Your grace, Your love, Your mercy, Your strength, Your favor! Help us lovey You and please you with our hearts! In Jesus’s name I pray… Amen!

Joni Eareckson Tada, I heard your story so long ago that I could not tell you when it was! You have been part of my life since then, and I shed so many tears hearing you today. My disabilities are mild, but of course, they have slowed me down at times. Some of the struggles I have today are ones I would have begged for when I first heard you. But, if I achieve them, I will help others and myself simultaneously. But I have to let go and allow Jesus Christ to do it because it is not about me and will not happen unless it is God's will. I pray that you can continue to speak and sing so brilliantly. You are still that beautiful teenage girl that you were in 1967. I can still see it. Thank God you did not get bitter.

Question: Is the Christian life successful in all circumstances or only in suffering and adversity? If God were to change the circumstances of Joni and restore her whole body and everything she lost from her diving accident including the youth lost from the functioning years from her diving accident Joel 2:25 Would God's grace and mercies still function as not to ruin the spiritual life of Joni? Does Joni have to keep on suffering in the circumstances to continue to be the spiritual leader she is in the present condition? Where is the promise that Paul tells us about? Philippians 4:11 Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content. 12 I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. If Joni were to be restored physically and be given the days of her youth back and not have to deal with the same old same old over and over again would she be able to handle it like Paul tells us? Would Gods grace also prove to be sufficient when she got all her functions back and youthful years too? Can Joni really do all things through Christ in a far more prosperous situation and still remain a success in the sight of God and our Savior? We know that some people hit the lotto and it ruins their lives. Is Gods grace flexible enough that He could prosper Joni and give her back everything and she still remain a winner? Can the Christian life be a success in the sight of God and the Christian be able to do all things through Him that strengthens? Is this promise really true or is it only true when the circumstances remain stagnant and predictable?
