    Seeing the comments, I'm surprised people are seeing this mall abandoned for the first-time. This Northridge mall Milwaukee, abandoned for just over a decade , and there's plenty videos of people exploring this place over the years. It's sad that people vandalized this place so badly and after all these years, they put this place on the demolition. Just like Richmond, richland, North Dekalb, Fiesta, carousel mall , Jamestown mall, this mall will meet it's fate along with century 3 mall . Sad

    EVs are heavier than gas cars!! They also do more damage in wrecks!! So much for improving technology!!😡😡😡

  • @MapleBar777
    @MapleBar777 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

    - Carbon footprint arguably worse when factoring in production of raw materials - low mileage range - significantly slower recharge than refuel - infrastructure of recharging stations can't/won't ever compare - worse reliability in extreme temperatures - purchase cost to consumer significantly higher - resale value virtually worthless - repair costs significantly higher - external damage significantly higher in crashes due to batteries being significantly heavier and more combustible EVs are NOT the solution

    • @redbean9410
      @redbean9410 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      - carbon footprints are not worse even when factoring in raw materials. Studies have consistently shown the exactly opposite that EVs recover the CO2 produced in 2 years of ownership - low mileage range? These EVs have ranges of 3-400 miles, with Tesla and Lucid 400+ - you charge at home over night when you’re sleeping and wake up to a 100% every morning. and supercharging is about 20 mins if you really need it. Even today the Tesla infrastructure is advanced enough you can go anywhere - it has only been 5-6 years of infrastructure development, vs 100 years for gas stations. It will absolutely outpace gas stations in near future - fast charging is compromised in extremely cold weather, but not home charging. Average trip distance is 37 miles in the US. Even a cold battery would cover that. You’re making an argument on paper, but doesn’t make sense practically. Plus Battery tech from Toyota for the future is working on fixing it - you can get a new model 3 for about 30k. The average price of a new purchased car in 2023 was 48k - cars with new tech will have higher repair costs, this applies to gas and EVs - your last point is entirely false. Gas cars are actually more likely to catch fire than EVa (www.autoblog.com/amp/2023/11/23/electric-cars-are-less-likely-to-catch-fire-than-gas-cars/?guccounter=1&guce_referrer=aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZ29vZ2xlLmNvbS8&guce_referrer_sig=AQAAADIhDbow4qQFy07vwmU9Xn23nRvbVpxDztRx7ZYH13OxOEbZWIIitDu6yreYgGNNZIrugnJZdS7mELnaTO806rEc5aNVIVo2uNUNmi9Zmfyv5bKmsLXzaEogQTXBz49MiD9Sq3f4ZadqFgKzBlNoMiqMv0qyMfTilReBzPDUqkU1) so stop lying

      @MapleBar777 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@redbean9410 - Carbon footprints ARE inarguably and significantly worse for EVs regarding production and inarguably better regarding operation (I'll give you that). What does not get factored in by the pro-EV crowd is the average life expectancy of the vehicle, redistribution, and disposal. The life expectancy is approximately 1/3 less, the redistribution is comparably non existent due to the battery replacement cost outweighing the value of the used vehicle, and the disposal cost is drastically higher. - Single tank/charge ave: 400/gas vs. 250/EV miles - Refuel vs. Recharge: My point was not refuted by yours. Still quicker to refuel, and not every destination is home base. - Infrastructure: There is a ton of development (I work in the industry), but I don't see it outgrowing the fossil fuel infrastructure. I predict industry and product develop changing course before then. Maybe that's just my personal opinion. - Extreme weather (particularly cold) negatively effects operation, not just charging. I'm sure manufacturers are working on that, but they're not there yet. Point still stands. - According to data from Cox Automotive, parent of Kelley Blue Book, the average transaction price for electric cars was $53,469 in July 2023, vs. gas-powered vehicles at $48,334. Let's keep it apples to apples. - Average annual repair costs are currently lower for EV than gas, but EV are newer and less in number. I don't really like the data metric on this for that reason, but statistically this would go to your point. I think the future will rebound that data. - My last point was regarding external damage or "collateral damage" due to two factors; EV vehicle weight/momentum and more combustible...with the "more combustible" part referring to it's burning temperature and ease of suppression, not ignitability. Lastly, I appreciate your well organized and thorough response. No need to call me a liar. Let's keep this civil and let iron sharpen iron.

      You're right. Public transit, walkable/bikable human-centric cities, the "de-car-bonization" of transportation is the answer. EVs bridge the gap as we rebuild first the interesting cities, then the boring ones.

    • @MapleBar777
      @MapleBar777 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@CuthbertNibbles Well, in all reality, when you keep in mind the ultimate objective, which should be preservation of life, and you go deep enough down the rabbit hole, you realize the effort is actually to go back to our natural habitation of Earth. That presents a whole new/old set of problems. Our technological advancements have been a resolution to the old set of problems with our exponential population growth. The answer is extremely complex and I don't claim to have it. We're all just on this train ride trying our best to figure it out.
