Overrated in college and apparently when he got to the NFL he was lazy.. By his own admission he didn't study as hard as required to be great.

Lol, after graduating from USC and stints with the NFL. He is with Fox Sports for the last 8 yrs doing very well. Can't wait to watch him and hopefully R Bush in a few weeks when college football starts.

He got drafted by Arizona and had Kurt Warner breathing down his neck, that's what happened.
I recall paparazzi photos of Leinart, after being drafted by the Cards, sitting in hot tubs with bikini clad beauties in LA, whenever he wasn't required to be in Phoenix. A hard life to resist I'm sure for a young, famous, handsome, single guy who has known nothing else for years.
The last season he played at USC, he was one dance class from graduating.

I hate USC but he had every reason to come back. When you have a chance to win 3 National Championships at any school you would come back too. Honestly I don't think USC's backup quarterbacks would've been able to complete that 4'th and 9 against Notre Dame. LenDale gets those 2 yards, he has a 3rd championship. He actually made the right decision since he was a bust in the NFL. It's harder to win a championship in college football than it to win a Superbowl.

Nothing wrong with wanting to stay in a good situation.
I knew when he decided to return for his senior year, he was going to be a bust. Matt should have gone pro after his junior season much like he does in the games NCAA 04 and 05. He would have surely gone number one to the 49ers in 2005 and while he might not have fared much better at least he might have been in a better situation. Kurt Warner being there was tough for him. But Matt enjoyed the college atmosphere and why leave an offense in USC that has everything?! They were the "it" team of college football.
