personally i see this song in a way that dan is hanging on a cliff of depression, and instead of having two hands on the cliff, focusing on getting better he instead gives one hand her, an obvious conflict with getting better. therefore it shows that "finding love" does ultimately mean your happy, and can sometimes be worse for you.

I have a friend who's pretty close to me, I don't have much friends. He used to have a girlfriend, but they broke up recently and he's hurt. I think I might remind him of her and he loves me so much because I comfort him. I know I do things pretty similar to what she did, so I sometimes think he might appreciate me so much because I remind him of her, and not because I'm me.

The only time she ever wants to hang out withe or actually talk to me is when no one else is with her, she'd rather be with her friends that have broke her heart multiple times. I get you can have other friends and I believe in that but she's taking it to far. Next year I'm going to secondary school and I'm terrified, I am going to the same school as my best friend but I think she will find a group of people and then hang with them. No one else I know will go so I probably won't have many friends. My *VERY* close friend is really kind though! She will never leave me and will always make me laugh she is truly a friend, in fact an absolutely amazing friend. I want to be her bestie but if I fall out with my current bff she will cry to the teacher and my teacher never believes me so I'm dead. It isn't fair. How can you be a best friend when your never there for them? I was sick one real bad and my bestie was with her friend while I looked basically dead she laughed and went played about in my house. I come home crying everyday just talking to myself about why I'm never good enough. I'm not going to be her friend in secondary I will tell her all the pain she gives me, and all the problems in her life just to make me feel bad when she never cares about me. I'm an imaginary therapist to her.

The song really resonates with me. I’ve had so many crushes on so many people and most of the time that love is unreciprocated. I’ve even had people bully me for liking them. I’m 16 now and I’ve never had a first kiss or anything before but I long for one very badly and I just want someone to come onto me wanting a serious relationship. Yeah I might just be only 16 and I have all the Time in the world to get a boyfriend or girlfriend but I kind of want one now. Plenty of people could probably agree with me. But anyways this song reminds me of the countless times in my life where I see my crush liking someone else and I wish that I was that person and I have the urge to ruin their relationship but I know it’s not OK(and I don’t do anything to mess with the relationship ofc but boy do I get tempted). I know it’s stupid but still Even though I don’t act clingy or possessive I still get jealous when someone I like even hangs out with someone else. When were the two times I had to go into the school bathroom after finding out that someone I liked like someone else and just having to sit there quietly trying to hold myself together as a few tears drip from my eyes and my heart fills with rage even though the person did nothing wrong.
