I like the photographer photobombing in the bottom left corner lol 😊
Thanks for this, very interesting 👍
No problemo
Ngl ur camera kinda looked like a pip boy. sick
I just bought my first mirrorless camera, a Sony A7C2 japanese model from Bic Camera in Japan. It happened to be on sale. I now have slight buyer’s remorse. I learned to shoot on a 35mm film camera. The Nikon ZF seems better suited to street photography and adapting vintage MF lenses that I can buy from used camera stores in japan. The price difference between these 2 cameras was negligible. Shooting on the sony, while the end results are quite sharp, is such a sterile experience. The AI A.F. Does all the work. Should I switch?
id recommend a switch, yes
That's creative sure but doesn't look remotely pleasing
Couldn’t imagine posing in the heat to see that result lol
I only shot my first wedding with Z8 last Saturday. After 3,5 years with Z6II it was huge jump for me in terms of camera performance. Honestly, the only thing I would need in Z6II is AF from Z8 and probably better ergonomics. I see no benefits from larger number om mpx. It is truly amazing camera (Z8) but a little too much for most of us. I work with two cameras so I will have to replace the other Z6II with Z8 as well anyway.
It looks too hot out there. They are getting married in a desert?
it’s in the middle of perú - very comfortable climate and very high elevation.
Mystery solved... Thanks for always sharing your tricks! Big fan here from the Philippines! 🤘
Happy to help!
love the review. my favourite lens was the 55 f1.2 AIS, thou i'm a sony user, i still kept the lens. Could you help me here as I'm trying to understand your adaptor arrangement? You mention mounting a manual F lens on a F to M mount and Techart M to Z mount would enable the auto focus. So I'm guessing manual F to M mount, with techart M to E mount on sony body would work too?
yes, i believe that combo would work too. note that the techart m to e mount adapter does not have the same functionality as the z mount version. i believe some focus modes are limited on sony
Great Video 👏 Thank you
Shooting the z8 for quite some time now, I realized that to get good high iso performance it’s best to not underexpose. Exposing for the subject usually yields the best results imo.
This is such a great review! I have a question though: was that the manual focus Leica Noctilux 0.95 that you were using with an adapter on the Nikon Zf? Can you please tell me the name of that adapter? Thanks.
move the Texture Slider to neutral position (11:50) and use sharpening only together with masking slider - this will not remove the problem with reduced DR but I guess the noise will be less apparent. Its usually good to start with neutral settings on the LR slider side. Adobe profiles also can make a difference when you import RAW files. This might have been fixed in the mean time. D850 was the DR king on low Iso - the Z8 is nearly 2 ev behind as far as DxO rankings show.
the 10.000 shots threshold is interesting :) it's the amount I take from the helicopter in a normal desert rally day
The best review 💯
Appreciate that
Beautiful 🔥🔥🔥
Thanks 🔥
Great review! Your review helped me in deciding to get one to compliment my Z7ii.
Glad I could help!
What's the prism used ?
Appreciate & relate to your approach 💯 very well said Thank you for the creative way you inspire your listeners. You approach weddings in a relaxed way along with the knowledge of when to speak up & when to document emotions. Would love to watch more second shooting vids by Taylor Jackson 🎉
If there was a love button for this post I'd press it! Now I do this before every shoot and cater images towards that specific event. You are awesome!
Do you have a playlist of your favorite songs? Id love to check them out. Also, Ive thoroughly enjoyed the music from your band, Prism.
that’s awesome! you’re our one fan 😂
Zf is a piece of art to buy and place in the living room alongside the legendary FE and FM. Still, the Zf seems like an amazing camera too. Nikon is back , to become a leader. Thank you for an excellent review. ❤ from Tel Aviv 🌹
Great video. ❤❤ from Tel Aviv 🌻
TL;DW: He got the Zf because he preferred the shutter sound and a flippy screen. There, I saved you 16 minutes! 😅😅 Quote from the end: "I'm very impressed; very happy with it [Z8]" But he preferred the aesthetics of the Zf - this is totally fair, but the video thumbnail was misleading clickbait tbh as it sounds like OP actually liked the features that most people are watching reviews to learn about.
What is the size of the catalog file for an average year and what is the size of your epic catalog, thanks
Wow what a great review! This is an amazing camera and worth the money imo, I purchased along with the 105 mm 2.8 macro z lens and nothing short of greatness.
Thank you for your video. If the shutter sound is the only drawback, it looks like I need to buy this camera) Many reviews on TH-cam mention the fact that the Z8 (unlike the R5 or A7R5) focuses on the eyelashes instead of the iris. Of course, we are talking about the open aperture of fast lenses. Could you confirm or refute this opinion? Thank you
Great video. My photos are stored on an ext. drive in specified folders. How do I integrate them with Lightroom?
Nice BTS! Really insightful to see your process. Lovely photos ❤
What core unit you are using in there ?
Form factor wise. This cam is the best for street and photo arts shoot, better than apsc and pancake (street) and rangefinder ovf (photo artist)
Incredible detail thank you alot
What REALLY needs to happen is Photographers and Videographers need to really give this a go and stick with it and report the things that would make sense. I also agree that most of my "issues" wiht this headset are software based. EXAMPLE I HATE using tackpads so if I wanted to edit in lightroom mobile, or davinci resolve (native apps WITHOUT my laptop) you CAN'T use a real mouse!
(PAUSE) im 2 mins into this video and I feel the exact same way and have the same history..ok (UNPAUSE)
haha glad you can relate
Also I didn’t quite see it but what flash are you using?
profoto a1
Amazzzing!!! You have changed my mind! Light stands absolutely do pin you in a certain area far more than bounce flash does!
Yes it does!
thank you for the review! im sorry everyone is so spicy in the comments.
No worries!
Good job team, good luck Fuji
Awesome review just bought mine today B&H, feels like a good addition to anyones arsenal and it will be my first ff camera (currently on Sony a6700)... Quick segway though where the hell did you get that sweater, it's absolute fire... LMAO!!! Cheers...
Good choice!
He sent it back because not even a $4k camera can help him take better pictures.
hahaha good one
It’s a beautiful looking camera. Nicely built. I coupled mine with magadapter and Sigma i series lens. No lens profile correction for sigma 24mm f/2 DN DG. I have to shoot raw and I use Sony FE 28mm f/2 profile for lens distortion correction.
Amazing! Bounce is the best. Is it difficult battling the color casts from the areas you bounce from?
it can be, but it’s easy enough to white balance out
Met you both at Forrest and Falls in Tennessee. Glad to see you both still working together and killing it. The “ooh” warning was hilarious.
I am officially confused as hell over this catalog business. I have heard people say they create a catalog for every project, or one for the year or just 6 main catalogs covering various projects. I have no idea who to listen to and what to do. if you have a catalog for every year, then why do you merge that into another one for the new year?? PLEAE EXPLAIN. THANK YOU
There is NO 'Y' in NIKON !
No pressure, right? Haha
I just watched a boatload of Zf reviews...this is one of the best. Thanks heaps 😊
very welcome! thanks for your attention 🙌
ISO is best thought of as signal to noise ratio. Feed the camera some signal and you will have less noise.
very true, but some cameras need less signal than others before noise is introduced
***CRINGES seeing your lenses without lens covers on them in your bag*** Also, Shimoda is one of THE most popular camera bag companies out there! You probably should learn about them!
shimoda is not popular in the wedding photography world. also, lens caps are for amateurs who inevitably lose or drop them.
Superb review! Thank you!
My pleasure!
