Never knew Anchorage, Alaska had a density populated city. But I heard there is high crime there. Is that true? Just wondering because I was thinking of visiting there.

okie doke as someone who was born in Palmer AK and has lived here ever since, i just thought it would be cool to share some of my fav things to do around here (in the general area you may have to go outside of city boundaries n stuff) - If you are visiting toward the end of summer/fall, GO TO THE FAIR ITS STILL PRETTY HOT HERE AND ITS LITERALLY THE HIGHLIGHT OF THE SUMMER - the Valley Hotel is a nice place to go get some hot cocoa and pancakes in the winter :)) - Government Peak area has the best cross-country skiing - Hike gold cord lake in hatchers pass in the summer <3 - sledding in hatcher's pass >>>>>>> - get some salmon from people if you can - swimming at Matanuska lake is rlly fun - THE VALLEY COUNTRY STORE ON FISHHOOK (aka Valley Country Store #3) IS SO SO GOOD THEY GIVE YOU THE BEST ICECREAM AND SOOOO MUCH OF IT FOR REAL CHEAP - Hike the Butte just do it i promise its fun (but bring a lunch for the top) - the downtown library is so cute (you'll have to wait a bit tho bc the roof collapsed a couple weeks ago :( ) BONUS TIPS: - Our pools here aren't that great and they're all indoor so go to a lake :) - The dark gets difficult to push through, so make sure you go do fun things in the snow - the boutiques downtown are really expensive just a tip

Wasilla is the ugliest, stupidest town in the state. Its for people who want to ruin a skyline of mountains with strip malls and fast food joints. Its where you need to live if you are a toothless 'merica spouting redneck who needs to strap on a pistol to go buy a bag of oranges at the store. Its where you live if you "don't need no book learnin'.

Nobody else fishing, so you might have been fishing there on a day that it is closed to fishing or fishing before 5AM before they open to fishing from 5AM to 10PM or fishing after 10PM. The days closed are Mon and Tues out there that starts on August 1st and that is when they also have the hours to fish go into effect there. But that area is a lot of fun to me because I can do some actual fly fishing out there because there is not a ton of snags like some other places have but when it gets crowded is when some others figure that they can crowd you and force you to flip n rip like they do.

I was first there in 1967, my family built a cabin on Finger Lake. Over the years I was in it many times. However the crowds, newer moved in citizens that were not old school Alaskans put me on the move and relocated to near Seward in 2009. To Anchorage and Wasilla...Goodbye, hope you don't miss me 'cause I don't miss you today. Finger Lake is still good and Palmer is alright.

My family moved to Anchorage when I was four in 1969. We moved to rural PA in February of 1980. I still have vivid dreams of hunting and fishing with my family in Alaska. Didn't see too much I recognized; it has been 43 years!

I was hoping to see if I recognized it but the extreme telephoto making the mountains 30 times larger than they really appear was disappointing. I worked for Max and Dorothy Sherrod on their produce farm in 1973. I hitchiked up from Iowa before leaving for the Marine Corps. Max was getting his world record cabbage and turnips ready for the Alaska State Fair.

I used to live on Lazy Mountain until I graduated from Palmer High. Then move back to Anchorage.

I have always wanted to see Alaska. And even tho I’ve never been there I think I would really love it there. I sure wish I could move there.....😕

Was stationed at Ft Richardson 76-77. Went to Palmer a few times on days off. Drove to Goose Bay a lot while on duty. Been so long it is getting hazy, but did go to the dragstrip one time.
