Imo, if you're just playing casually it's fine to use incense whenever. If you want to do superbosses, I would wait to use incense until you've finalized your team comp for the CoV postgame superboss, as that boss is a huge stat check.

Samael is an optional boss at the end of the creation of vengeance route, and the essence he's using is demifiends.

Samael’s unlock quest can be triggered after playing through the secret ending of the Canon of Creation, then playing through Canon of Vengeance until you reach The Empyrean. At this point, you can find Mastema at the same place where you first met him, and he’ll give you the quest. Also, the Essence he used is Demifiend’s.

@@Celeste______Apologies bro but you too fell for the fake news on that front, I too can confirm I unlocked him/Satan secret boss to unlock Godborn on my first playthrough canon of vengeance. Just did as many quests as I could and then before fighting Metatron or I think it was Lucifer you talk to Mastema(same spot where he turned Ichiro Dazai to salt before turning him back) and without spoiling it'll start the quests needed for Godborn umlock. I was on hard too in case that's a requirement.

I found Idea Lukas harder than them when fought at a similar level. Judgment is fairly easy to out-tank and Worldbreaker is very predictable. Idea Lukas is too idiosyncratic to be fully consistent.

Temple of Eternity is the best in my experience, though as long as you have the ability to demand incense any place where you can come up with a setup to reduce the last enemy to critical HP will work.

oops, you don't need to send it anymore if you were going to send one, in a way I managed to recover two saves that I had, not with everything but a good part of the items that I had were restored, in any way I managed to save myself here. 🎉

Getting better gear is basically just a matter of grinding. You're just hoping to get lots of useful synergistic affixes on one item, such as crit, crit damage, relevant boosters, stats, etc. And Daji is a very strong support. In fact most of the collab characters are extremely strong.

The LoC becomes available after you finish part 2, not part 1. Before part 2 released there was a part 1 LoC, and Reaper's dialogue saying you access the LoC after part 1 is just a holdover from that. Basically it's a bug. As for Luka's HP, that's all from LoC gear, which I spent around 400 hours grinding.

@@Laurcus oh so it was a dialogue bug then, I was worried that some random bug locked me away from a game feature. And yes I've been reading a little of LoC in a guide and it really seems like mgq turns into shin megami tensei in that area lol. Thanks for answering btw

If you wanna break the game just get the Roid races for Hild and any other android of your choice. Other than that battlemaster is great for early dual wield. Pope is insane for Holy Martyr. Apprentice Hero is great for Goddess' Protection. The Samurai line is also great for learning Focused Mind and later Inner Focused Mind. For supports White Mage is great early. Time Mage and Taoist have great debuffs. Late game the Minstrel line is OP due to getting Hero's Song from Divine Songstress.

@@Laurcus I didn't know Samurai learned Focused Mind and Inner Focused Mind. I thought that was something only Monks learned. And I guess I was on the right track because this was also the direction I was going in for my team. It's just a pain to level all the jobs and then not get the skills that allow you to use those skills out of battle until their Advanced Job. Oh and also, I'd love to see a playthrough from you with commentary through LoC and all its bosses. Perhaps with a non-OP Optimized team for the extra challenge. I'm avoiding LoC for the achievement so seeing someone that provides great commentary from you through it would be amazing. ^^

@@Laurcus Just checked again, Samurai doesn't learn the Focused Minds. Seems only the Monks and Magus Fist Jobs learn it. Samurais learn stuff to help with Evasion and Magic Evasion. Guess time to level Martial Artist with Luka lol

With basic jobs and races you'll have about 4000 HP by max level. With advanced jobs and races around 8k. Most of my HP and other stats comes from postgame gear obtained in the Labyrinth of Chaos. My weapon alone gives around 55k base HP. As for playtime, I have around 700 hours on my main save.

You get High Apoptosis by getting the job change item item in the Western Gold Tartarus, which requires beating the game to open the door there.

Yes Paradox still has that but it's way less graphic and also less common. There's a ton of damage elements in Paradox. Physical, fire, lightning, ice, water, wind, earth, holy, dark, pleasure, carnage, nuclear, ion, quantum, nano, hadron, terra, eternal, demise, nightmare, gravity, galactic and null. Pleasure and nightmare are just two of those elements if you catch my drift. Binds still exist but can be immuned and don't come with their own special artwork or scenes. In other words there's still elements of that, but it's way toned down.

@@Laurcus dear lord that's probably the most amount of elements I've ever seen a game before, the more I hear about this game the more it sounds like an accomplishment RPG gameplay-wise. Just seeing "Galactic" as a damage type makes me interested, but I assume I have to beat the original MGQ trilogy first so I don't become confused in Paradox

@@lucylu3342 Personally speaking, MGQP is the best JRPG I've ever played. At this point I have like 1000 hours in the game. And yeah, there's a reason for all the elements. They make perfect sense when you understand what they are and that includes galactic. And if the name galactic makes you wonder if there's insane, ludicrous power escalation, the answer is yes, yes there is. The phrase, "Reaper slices with a scythe that brings existence itself to an end." comes to mind. As for whether you need to play the original MGQ or not, you actually don't but it does make Paradox more enjoyable. The writing in Paradox is really really good, so if you've played the original you get more out of it and that experience will feel very relevant, but if you jump straight to Paradox you won't be confused either. Also the original MGQ gets pretty insane and if you're already partway through I high recommend finishing it. The last 30% or so of the game is god tier imo.

Played part 2 through 1 week ago and saw the trailer of final part 3 and I was like cool story is even better than anime just sayin but sadly waiting another 3 years for English translation 😂 Did your Luka mastered all jobs/races?

@@sekki297 Yeah I have all jobs/races mastered on about 20 characters. When part 3 comes out I plan to play it using DeepL, which is a translation program that's way more accurate than Google Translate. It's still not as good as a human translation of course but it's genuinely not bad.

@@sekki297 I better! You can't use LoC gear until you get the Equip: Chaos passive, which unlocks when you finish the game and will be disabled on part 3 release. So it'll be back to campaign gear. But my capaign setup has Luka hitting for about 200 million dmg on turn 1.

@Fin643 Anti-Recovery Formation and Crisis Addict to force Luka into critical. I use the Spirit's Legacy accessory for double action in crisis mode. My turn 1 is Full Power followed by Angel-Disintegrating Slash. Since ADS is a heroism skill it gets 200% more damage when Luka is in critical. So just those two factors is 1200% more damage on a 2100% attack skill. And of course I have every passive buff to attack in the game along with dual wield Excalibur.

Logos Magia is from Luka's conceptual weapon yes. Grand Lion, Plasma Break and Angel-Disintegrating Slash can actually be learned permanently in the LoC from Heinrich.

The best way to get good gear is to farm carnage LoC. If you need an early setup for that I highly recommend just going into regular LoC and getting some decent gear. Then do the Reaper's battle challenge to get Sonya's conceptual weapon and do the challenge again with Sonya to get Luka's conceptual weapon. With some buff stacking it's pretty easy to do enough damage. If you do that Luka's weapon will carry you through regular LoC into early carnage.

I basically stopped doing LoC after getting to Carnage 125. I may try and push a little higher before part 3 but idk if I'll have time. Things just have so much health past 125 lol.

There's a rare affix on gear called SP Cost 90%. Now based on the name you may think that would reduce SP costs by 10%, but it's actually a 90% reduction. My chest has that affix on it. Combining that with other SP cost reduction stuff like the passives from the pirate jobs allows you to get SP costs insanely low.

One of the special floors that can spawn is a trainer floor where an NPC will teach you a special skill. One of the trainers that can appear is Queen Mermaid and she teaches Aqua Pentagon. You can also learn Angel-Disintegrating Slash from Heinrich. Ghost Heinrich has if I recall a 25% chance of offering that move and Armored Berserker, (Who is insanely rare.) offers it 100% of the time.

@@m4playsgames636 Aqua Pentagon by far. They both do basically the same thing but EMA is self only while Aqua Pentagon can be used on other characters.

It's in the Western Gold Tartarus behind a locked door. You get the keycard for it at the end of part 2. If you interact with a certain scientist in the Great Disaster flashback Ilias/Alice will swipe the keycard off him.

@@Laurcus thanks for all the tips, I am happy to report I have maxed out quite a bit of classes on my characters and working on getting the gear necessary now from LoC

I basically wrecked both Adramalech and Soniachaos in the campaign mode in about two rounds each... The collab on the other hand however will kick your teeth in if you haven't prepped pleasure element attacks because some enemies and bosses are immune to everything but that.

A lot of time and effort lol. I recommend going through Trial of Chaos first and focusing on maxing out useful jobs and races. You especially wanna unlock stuff like demonoid. Then it's all about gear farming in LoC until you're ready for carnage LoC. If there's anything in particular you wanna know feel free to ask!

@@mr.elusive848 Depends on what point in the game you're at. In super late game I prefer speed running level 5 trial of chaos. If you just want raw job XP the fastest is probably either mimic island or the cave south of Port Marle. If you're gonna grind JXP through battles instead of ToC you really want to set all the battle wait and text speed stuff to fastest. With that plus encounter quintuple if you're fighting in an area where you can consistently one turn enemies each battle only takes about 4 seconds if you hold down skip and mash the confirm button. And of course don't forget about JXP boosting skills and/or items. Things like Hard Job Wrist, Job XP Full Focus and of course LoC gear with +500% Job XP. None of those stack with each other of course so just use the highest modifier you have. Something that does stack however is the singing skill Lucky Song, which gives 200% job XP to party members in the front row. With a good grinding setup with no ToC gear at the cave south of Port Marle it takes about 10 minutes to master an advanced job.

@@mr.elusive848 I don't know exactly what you could be missing but I do know that quest has a lot of requirements. You need to have finished part 2, have recruited most of the queens, a bunch of random characters like Barbun, and you need to have completed the quest to setup the vampire pub.

It definitely has quite the learning curve lol. My recommendation, focus on 1-3 characters that you like and try to make them into damage dealers. Building a damage dealer is by far the hardest part of LoC because it takes enormous amounts of stat and ability stacking to get a high damage. Each damage dealer in your party should focus on a different stat. Attack, magic and then either dex or agi. Eventually one of these characters will pull way ahead of the others due to gear RNG. At that point start focusing primarily on that one character. The other characters should all be supports. One or two double shield support for spamming things like shield heal or phys/magic immunity and the rest should basically be tanky mages that buff with things like white and time magic, singing and dancing, cooking and alchemy, etc. If you really want to master the Carnage LoC it will require a lot of grinding for unlocking abilities. Start in the trial of chaos and focus on just powering up your characters not only with LoC gear but with learning new jobs, Eventually you'll hit a point where ToC is very difficult but level 5 is clearable. After that you want to start pushing into the regular LoC as it offers better gear than the ToC.

@@Laurcus i just finished the ilias route and my party is basically Eden, Micaela, Lucifina, Alma and the collab characters (i think Est, Daji and Gilgorn are the strongest), i have some low LoC equipment too (around +6/+7) and they easily deal 3-4M damage, but the bosses are getting to a point where it takes me half an hour to beat them even having Daji using Gravity like a fcking maniac 3 times per turn. So maybe i'll focus on damage dealers, Luka for attack, Gilgorn for magic and Eden or Micaela for dex/agi. Any recommendation on a job for Luka that uses attack?

@@RadFang For Luka I recommend going with Monster Swordsman for attacks. Focus on using auto-hit attacks, meaning things that deal dark or holy damage. This is important because some bosses really really like to dodge. The great thing about Luka is he can use basically any attack based skill type regardless of job so once you learn the sword skills from Monster Swordsman you can go to jobs like Pirate King, (Which is the best attacking job in terms of stats and AP.) or branch out into other stuff for more abilities. If you wanna do big damage, I recommend focusing on buff stacking. Hero's Song, Rovissa's Grimgerde, Mass Enhance Attack, Salamander, Transform, Inner Focused Mind, Spellblade of any element, Taoism and Dragon Palace Dance to force a weakness for that element and then Full Power for big damage. With that kind of setup you can deal billions of damage without even having LoC gear. Stacking all of that is about a 72x damage multiplier if I'm not mistaken. To give you an idea of how potent buff stacking is, normally I do about 450 trillion a hit. Under full buffs I can reach about 19 quadrillion. And you can use more buffs than me because you're not at the stat cap. You have access to a lot more damage than you realize, it's just a matter of setting it up properly.

I think i'll start with that, one last thing, do you know how to get the item for Seraph and Fallen Angel? I've had Luka stuck in High Angel for a while now, i searched for a wiki but i can't seem to find one (just something about it being deleted) so im kinda playing blindly. If you need to keep Luka as an angel I recommend Valkyrie Lord which requires mastering Warrior and Valkyrie. The best race for Luka right now though is the intermediate race Demonoid, which is one of the most busted races in the game. This requires doing 10 million damage in the Reaper Battle Challenge to get the Demonoid Orb. It also requires mastering Human, Noble Yoma, Elder Youkai and Night Emperor. You get access to Yoma, Vampire and Youkai races by doing Promestein's side quest. Demonoid is super important because it has 2 of the best passive abilities in the game, Physical Converter and Heavy Attack, both of which boost attack by 50% passively, so a 125% dmg increase. Also do note Demonoid has insane stats as well. 140% Attack, resistance to all damage and some pretty massive status resistances with no weaknesses. And lastly, Inner Focused Mind is from Magus Fist and Transform is indeed from Hero of Justice. You can also get Change from Magical Girl if you prefer as it does the same thing as Transform, applying the exact same buff state.

First off Est is actually a very very strong character. I don't use her because she's too cheesy lol. Her and Fulbeau make the best tanks actually due to being immune to most attacks. If you just want to blast the LoC in the cheesiest way possible use Luka for a pleasure conversion build. mgq.miraheze.org/wiki/Useful_Battle_Strategies#Offense:_Gravity_Pleasure The Death Claw sorcery is better for that build now though. That build is ultra OP and may get nerfed since it literally one shots anything no matter what its stats are. If you wanna go for more normal builds where you actually play the game, I would recommend setups that are somewhat like mine. You want a damage dealer or 3 and the rest of your characters should be supports. Imo it's kind of tough to get the gear to field multiple solid damage dealers for quite some time but it is nice to have backups. Every character should have Endure, Holy Martyr, a 2 hit auto deflector, (Easiest way is Psycho Armor from Nether Sorcerer.) an auto revive like Goddess' Protection and damage dealers should have Super Hide while supports should have Super Appeal. Every character should also have a way to apply deflectors, usually the makina skill Electromagnetic Armor or if you've been farming LoC for awhile Aqua Pentagon. Supports are basically just there to buff and tank and generally stall out the fight keeping you from dying. For damage dealers you want to stack as many different sources of damage as possible. Stack their damage stat, (Usually attack but other stats can be good with the right setup.) up to around 50-90 million outside of combat through various sources of attack such as race/job stats, seals, Excalibur gems, (Which give 38% attack.) attack gems and of course seals. Other than raw attack stats you want relevant boosters for whatever skill you're using as well as any other stats that increase damage such as double action or crisis triple action, skills activate twice, crit chance, crit damage, skill boosters, etc. Then in combat you just buff up as much as possible, (You can see the relevant buffs in my video.) try to not get hit by dispels and then nuke like crazy with a chaos skill such as Black Sky, Logos Magia or whatever else you prefer. Nightmares can be really strong and cheesy. Scylla, Slime, Humans with Seven Worlds, can all be really strong, too. Next thing to do is pick the best one of the classes with the best personal trait. Fulbeua is honestly probably the best Nightmare with her complete status immunity. Scylla are insane spammers and DD.
