Het is een zeer goed luisterboek, maar wel erg gezien vanuit de positie van Engeland(the British Empire) en dan natuurlijk de tijd waarin het geschreven is, ik als Nederlander was altijd wel geïnteresseerd in de Zuid Afrikaanse geschiedenis, ik ben als amateur historicus altijd al wel nieuwsgierig , vanwege het feit dat veel familie namen Nederlands waren en bijna elke stad of zelfs kleine steden een Afrikaner buurt/wijk hadden en ik was toen nog maar 10 jaar oud Later op volwassen leeftijd heb ik en serieuze studie vericht nasr de Zuid Afrikaanse en de Afrikaner gwschiedenis en daarmee ook de geschiedenis van mijn eigen land Het begin punt was de republiek der Verenigde zeven provincies Of te wel Holland in de gouden eeuw(1600 t/m 1700) Ik benadruk natuurlijk de geschiedenis van de Afrikaners(de Boeren) het is niet mijn bedoeling om de Zulu's de Kosi en.de Xhosa mensen te benadelen ik was en ben zeer tegen het hele apartheid regime geweest en heb me in het verleden diep geschaamd vanwege de Nederlandse herkomst van de Afrikaners/Boeren en ik ook nog gedeeltel8jk van de Hugenoten afstam zie mijn Familie naam Peter.A.B. Deschaux ik zou graag nog meer willen weten, waarom ik dit in get Nederlands vermeld, Normaliter doe ik dat ook meestal in het Engels, maar gezien de inhoud van dit luisterboek besloot ik het in het Nederlands te dien aangezien Nederlands de oorsprong is van het Afrikaans de Boer taal zeg maar Vriendelijke groeten en ik mag aannemen dat de moderne Nederlandse spelling vertaald kan worden in het Engels Peter Deschaux Roosendaal Noord Brabant Koningrijk der Nederlanden 11februari 2025. 🇱🇺
