Council of European Jamaats is a UK registered charity as a non-profit organisation bringing together the Khoja jamaats in Europe to serve its grassroots. It is a forum which unites the community to provide educational, skills training, spiritual upliftment, mental wellbeing, mediation and support services.

I wonder if you could help me . I have a joint account with Barclays Bank which has Canadian and American dollar accounts. All the monies thar were received in the above accounts were taxed and paid and sorted by our accountant. I used an exchange company called Torfx to convert the funds into sterling and transfered some monies into barclays and some into a newly opened personal account in National building society. I specifically requested the building society I do not want a cheque book. Fraud took place in the building society, someone got hold of my cheque book ( which I never received) Someone removed over £8,000) from my account .This was in 2019. Ever since, I have questioned and requested the Building Society to refund the money. They said , their fraud team wanted a letter from barclays bank to verify the credibility of the money i.e its legitimate and authentic. The letter was forwarded to the building society. They insist on having details of the barclays dollar accounts. Now, my mum who is 88 years old refuses to provide this to my building society.. What do I do ? Kindly help me. We are just 2 women alone C
