There was a 1949 Sixty Special that was built as a "Coupe De Ville" , a two door hardtop for the 1949 Motorama. Late 1949 was the first time a trimline of the Series 62 that was called DeVille ("Of The Town", French). A later "Sedan De Ville" was introduced in 1956, Cadillac's first 4 door hardtop.

This is a series 62 4 door sedan, not a Sedan De Ville. The Sedan De Ville was a 4 door hardtop, not a conventional sedan, and came out in 1956.
