I managed to do my spark plugs on the passenger side spark plugs/coils with taking intake part in about 1/2 hour. Only two are tricky to get at.

    its not that bad to change the plugs without removing the plenum. take your time on number 1 coil and it will come out. The center plug, cylinder #3 gave me the hardest time b/c I only had a couple extensions with me and the one i had was a little to long and it wouldn't clear the intake. the right size extension and a wobble or swivel helps a LOT also... I wanted to replace the plenum gasket anyway since I didn't replace it when I did the timing chain, so i went ahead and removed the plenum recently when i did the plugs anyway. I actually prefer to remove the plenum since it's really not hard and i like to take my time and not be stressed. Plus with the plenum off you can clean things and make sure all is done to perfection, but it is very doable and if you have one bad coil on bank 1, then it saves you time and some trouble..

    I did my 06 Pathfinder today; It was easier for me to move the intake out the way. It was just to tight for me with the intake on because of the size of my hands. Pulling the intake was not to bad at all for those that have no choice; Had to remove about 15 bolts total to get it, the throttle body and air filter ducts off and out of the way.

    Yo Thanks Hugo, this video helped me do my number one coil leaving the manifold on. Your right patience is key, but it can be done! The Flex is key an a small 10mm ratchet for number one coil was a great help as well.

    Works perfect! I just used a few extensions and a u joint to access the plug hole. The coil boot flexes a lot...45 degrees and that helps get it out from under the plenum. Thanks for the video!

    Having just done this, I still believe it was easier to just remove the intake manifold.

    Thanks so much man! Also love that as you're removing the connector to cilindar 1 that "why'd you have to go and make things so complicated" is playing on your radio. Hidden message to Nissan. Haha

    Cannot thank you enough. Your video is a great. Can you tell me how did you remove the black thick wire (in the beginning of the video at .038 seconds) that was on your way? I cannot figure out how to remove this clip around the wire?

    • @mrletterhead13
      @mrletterhead13 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tamer Messih Did you figure this out?! I have done all the plugs except this one, I also can’t figure out how to remove it.

    • @johnmontgomery6956
      @johnmontgomery6956 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      There is a hole on the left side of that harness clip. Push in the small black release notch and the harness will slide off that clip.

    Thank you Checko man, whats the sandy looking pebbles in the robbery coil and is the spark plugs socket wrench is it magnetic to pull up the spark plugs if someone can reply to

    • @c230benzito
      @c230benzito 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Spark plug socket has a rubber ring/gasket inside it that grips onto the spark plug.

    • @mrletterhead13
      @mrletterhead13 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Probably late, but if you don't have a rubber gasket in your socket. You can use a section of 5/8 garden hose which will fit snuggly around the loosened spark plug and allow you to pull it out. Obviously be sure that the piece of hose is clean and no debri. This is also a good way to put in the new spark plugs and hand tighten, it's bendable and ensures you are not cross threading.
