Fixing, rebuilding, customizing and detailing bikes.
Re-review of the 2009 Ducati 1198s
Includes detailed pictures and walk around video of completion of my custom 1198s.
Nearly everything was replaced or removed and detailed, rim where power-coated due weather corrosion. All hardware replacement with either titanium, stainless steel or aluminum. Some oem parts have been removed and polished. Regulator has been relocated to the upper right hand side along with new lithium battery compatible regulator. New lithium battery. Airbox was removed and detailed , Injectors have been removed and cleaned along with the throttle bodies. We spark plugs installed, upgraded air filters that properly seal, upgraded ignition wiring with heavier gauge copper. Upgraded anti-spin hydraulic clutch system. New starter spray clutch. Completely upgraded light weight clutch system. Full 70mm Termignoni Exhaust with race ECU, exhaust was removed and polished then thermal wrapped. Heat protection applied on the inner panels lower panels. Starter motor wrap with thermal heat protection. Upgraded folding brake and clutch levers with new oem grips and new matching rear-sets. Fully rebuilt brake callipers front and back with new oem front rotors to maintain traction control functionality. Titanium front axle and wheeled nuts, rear eccentric hub was cleaned and re-greased. Front shocks were serviced just before I purchased from the previous owner however, the back shock was leaking fluid and not functioning properly so I removed it and sent it to Ohlins for a rebuild service and a new spring. Rear suspension hardware all swapped out to titanium. New Super Sprocs front and rear sprocket and DID 525 x-chain. Sprockets are OEM size specs. New front and rear cowls, New fuel filter and tank gasket, Added carbon fibre where possible bike still has the OEM carbon front mudguard. New stainless steel clutch and brake lines with a gold wrap. TST rear brake light using new stock turn signals. New rear under tray. Drivers seat wrapped in a black suede with gold stitching. custom polished aluminum fluid reservoir caps, new Pirelli Diablo 3’s , I still have the OEM swing arm however I purchased a used 1098 swing arm do I could hand polish it. Swing-arm was installed it with all new oem bearings and caps. All faring hardware is gold aluminum with titanium washers behind the larger bolts. Even the under body has matching hardware. Radiator was removed detailed and flushed. New porn main rad hoses and thermostat. Reinstalled rads with a CNC black rad guard and oil cooler guard. Bike has 21500 km so the belt wasn’t replaced I only inspected for tension and it was within spec, however I do have a set of belts ready to go.
