      The PRV controls pressure and regulates pressure/flow through it therefore passing water through/downstream of the valve to outlets. If you would like any more information on our PRVs, you can talk to our technical department by filling out the form: www.altecnic.co.uk/contact-us/. Hope that helps!

      If it's anything like a vehicle thermostat it could be a wax which expands under heat. Wax motors are quite typical in these kinds of valves. An adjustment could just be a screw which adjusts where the body of that wax motor sits.

    This valve is made of brass, so it is a very good conductor of heat, which means that not insulating this valve will compromise the heat retention. Effectively this valve seriously reduces the efficiency of the ASHP system.

    What are the consequences of this valve functioning? When reaching temperatures of 3 degrees and below, I understand that the water is released out. But... can it be released only from the heatpump and leave rest of the water - from the inhouse heating system - intact? Or there is a risk of depressurising and emptying the entire heating circuit, also from inside the house?

    • @altecniclimited947
      @altecniclimited947 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for your question! The operational function of the valve is to draw warmer water from the system to the cooler parts to prevent freezing, this would no doubt over a period of time draw water from within the property. The discharge rate is approx 0.5ltrs per hour at -5deg, however for the system to drop to 3deg at -1deg ambient temperature could take up to 36hrs so the chance of activation is minimal. Also if the valve were to activate, I would assume only an amount of the head of pressure will be released and not full system drainage. For any more information, please follow the link: www.altecnic.co.uk/contact-us/

    Thanks for sharing this. I recently replaced Myson TRV with one from Toolstation - the head only, which fitted on okay. I also did the same with one from ebay. When I switched the heating on, the room temperature was already 18 degrees in the two rooms and the trv was set on number 1, but the radiators still warmed up - eventually reaching 20 degrees, yet the TRV shouldn't have activated because number 1's temperature activation was no more than 14 degrees. I expected to turn the knob to number 3 if I wanted 20 degrees. Do some of these TRVs not work as expected for some reason? I could go out and purchase your brand but I am unsure if I might experience the same problem.

    Good evening. I’m midway through your presentation and I’m finding it really informative. I’ve just started working on a university campus and one of the main buildings is comprised of student accommodation and a hotel. The original installation is a district system supplying multiple hiu,s . The main problem in my opinion is the hot water primary pipe work supplying the required heat to the plate exchanger . Although the pipe work is insulated the heat generated by the primary circuit throughout the building and in the risers creates a level of radiant heat leading to constant complaints. I would like to hear what you think mate. 👍 Many thanks, and kind regards, Les.

    The chamber does not look big enough if the system was heavily clogged also is that magnet big enough?

    • @altecniclimited947
      @altecniclimited947 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for your question Mark, we absolutely agree that choosing the right filter for the right system is key to ensuring an efficient working system for installers and homeowners. In the case of a heavily clogged system, a magnetic filter alone would not solve the problem and a full system flush would be required prior to installation of a filter like the XS. We also have a range of other magnetic filters with larger collection chambers that may be more suitable to larger systems. The benefit of installing the XS would be that the glass visual indicator allows installers and homeowners alike to visually inspect the cleanliness of a system without having to isolate and drain, meaning you only take action when it's required.

    • @raymondtavener9797
      @raymondtavener9797 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is servicing or planned preventative maintenance he should of used. Also he forgot to mention to descale all parts including the strainers on each side. Also to record the incoming cold and hot water temperature going to the TMV’s and adjust the mixed temperature of required. You should also do a fail safe test which consists of isolating the cold and making sure the tap don’t run with just the hot coming out if so it will need replacing.

      Hi Mate; COMMISSIONING OF THE VALVE Upon completion of the installation, the valve should be tested and commissioned as per the procedure outlined below or as specified by the local authority. The entire procedure should be read through thoroughly before the commissioning of the valve. A calibrated digital thermometer with rapid response time with maximum temperature hold, a small flat-bladed screwdriver, 3mm Allen key and the adjusting key (supplied with the Aquablend 1500) will be required to check and set the outlet mixed temperature of the valve. Ensure all outlets that will be serviced by the valve have adequate warning signs posted to ensure that no outlet is used during commissioning. Open the cold supply line to the valve, then open the hot supply line, ensuring there are no leaks. Open the outlet that is serviced by the shortest length of the pipe work between the mixing valve and outlet fixture. Allow the mixed outlet to flow for at least 60 seconds to allow the temperature to stabilise before taking a temperature reading at the outlet with a digital thermometer. The flow rate should be at least 2L/min. The flow rate can be checked with the aid of a known size container and a stopwatch, or Enware Flow-Cup (ATMS1201). The temperature should be taken at the closest outlet served by the thermostatic mixing valve. If the outlet temperature requires adjustment please follow the steps below. TEMPERATURE ADJUSTMENT 1. Using a small flat-bladed screwdriver, lever the Red Lock Shield (protective cover) off the valve. SEE IMAGE 5 (over page) 2. Loosen the temperature adjustment locking grub screw located on the hex of the top cap using 3mm Allen Key. SEE IMAGE 6 If the grub screw is not easily accessible, relocate the grub screw to the most accessible screw hole (3 screw holes are provided on the top cap for convenience). Leave the grub screw loose. 3. Fit the supplied key over the adjusting spindle. SEE IMAGE 7 • To increase the mixed outlet temperature, rotate the spindle anti-clockwise. • To decrease the mixed outlet temperature, rotate the spindle clockwise 4. Allow the mixed outlet temperature to stabilize for 60 seconds and once again take a temperature reading. Repeat the procedure until the desired temperature has been reached. 5. Tighten the temperature adjustment locking grub screw. SEE IMAGE 6 6. Push the top cover firmly back onto the top of the valve until it ‘snaps’ back into place. 7. Check the outlet temperature is stable over the full range of flow rates and that the flow rate is adequate for the application. 8. Close the outlet. 9. The mixing valve is now set and locked! Full instructions here: www.enware.com.au/products/aquablend-1500-thermostatic-mixing-valve-lead-free-with-thermal-flush-lift-lever/aquablend-1500-thermostatic-mixing-valve-lead-free-with-thermal-flush-lift-lever/
