4 Door Dodge Dart in the 10's finally! Don't look at the injector duty
มุมมอง 171ปีที่แล้ว
The LS swapped 4 door Dodge Dart makes a 10.5 second pass finally straight off the trailer. 13ish pounds of boost, E85, AEM 380 pump, deka 80 lb. injectors, fuel pressure dropping and injector duty struggling. Also may have pushed out some coolant.

In this episode we 3D model a cart in Autodesk Fusion 360 for my Rogue Fab tube bender and Versa Notcher. Then weld it all together using some leftover steel from another project.
Fixing Low Voltage Problem on OBS Chevy Truck
มุมมอง 27K2 ปีที่แล้ว
In this episode we tackle the common low voltage problem with the OBS (Old Body Style) Chevy Truck or "GMT400" charging system. Mine is a 1988 GMC K1500 single cab short bed with a 383 stroker and a Holley Sniper EFI. We use a multimeter to find some high resistance wires and bypass them with a new piece of battery cable and get the system charging at 14 volts.
Welding Wastegate Straight to Turbo Housing
มุมมอง 2.5K2 ปีที่แล้ว
In this episode I TIG weld a VS Racing 44mm wastegate flange straight to the exhaust housing on a VS Racing 78/75 single scroll turbo to fix a slight boost creep issue. I used a Primeweld TIG225X, 3/32" purple tungsten, 1/16" 309L filler rod, and about 20cfh argon through a Furick "Jazzy 10" cup (no back purge) with some preheat in the kitchen oven!

LS Swapped Dodge Dart to the Drag Strip
มุมมอง 1.9K2 ปีที่แล้ว
In this episode I take my LS swapped 69 Dodge Dart to the drag strip for some shake down passes. I meet up with my buddy and shoot some footage of his big block Ford Falcon big tire car. Later in the video there is a small tire shootout going on. Enjoy some cold starts, complements from random passersby and sights of the city enroute to the track.
Brither you have a spider web under that hood
What fans are you running? Have a 96 ls swap with terminator x thats getting a lil warm at idle. Tryin to find a solution.
Stop assuming we have seen something before or know something before a lot of us are coming to the video because we don't know the very information you're assuming we do. I didn't know you meant by the big 3. And u never showed the battery light not coming back on
Fixed it like a man! Great video! Notice he didn't buy a $80 kit.
This thing could decimate all….
Went from a 92 Chevy 4x4 work truck to a 98 GMC 3 door 4x4 Z71 off road Cadillac . No regrets but I really miss all that luggage space you have in the engine bay.
Issue with my 92 suburban is that it randomly shuts off at red lights after release of brake to acceleration and turns on fine but once shift to drive and go to accelerate it again shuts off and to this day all we have done to fix issues it still on occasions foes it. Would you know of this issue or what it can be?
Thanks for sharing and reminding me about this lol. i had done it before and now had me chasing my tail again until i saw this!
What kind of fans are those I put dual Amazon ones on mine and they are horrible😂
I need to know the spark plug gap for a 2015 Chevy Malibu 1:33
I have this issue randomly off and on chasing and cleaning grounds or (Dual) battery terminals sometimes appears to help, then it would quickly surface again (Random as above) I guess I will check that wire. I think I cleaned it long ago. 98 GMC Sierra, 6.5 Diesel, Crew Cab, SLT Fully Loaded 4x4 Dually on 33x11 BFG MTs, 2 inch spacers, No Lift, Black
On the 2 Guage were is the usable link?
Has something to do with the charge light my charger is giving the battery 14.6 volts but the brown wire from the dash charge light puts out 12.6 volts.
I always wire brush the bolt holes on the alternator and the bracket. Take the battery leads apart and sand then down. It made my starter a lot faster.
I went threw today and checked, and removed the main old grounds in the engine bay of my 88, and the one on the filler neck. They were old and tattered and needed replaced.
Nice. Im ls swapping a 65 valiant
Finally a home made cart, looks good 😊
Don't forget your ground cables.
For me it was the battery to alternator sh$t wire. It was way undersized from the factory
OK so just so I understand this… Originally you had a positive cable running down to the starter and now you took that battery cable out and ran one from the alternator directly to the battery… And from the battery you have a cable going down to the starter. Is that correct?
Hey, sorry if it was confusing. I didn't remove the positive cable running from the battery to the starter. I didn't even remove the original wire from the the back of the alternator. I just added another cable to the post on the alternator, in addition to the stock one, and ran it straight to the battery positive. Basically creating a parallel path to the battery. Not exactly 100% the best way to handle it. But it works to bypass any factory wiring that has high resistance. If that makes any sense..
Nice project.
Im going to try 4awg wire. Using the lights and AC blower will cause my system to drain power, eventually causing dash warning lights. EVEN though my Powermaster Alternator is keeping up. So OBVIOUSLY a wire issue. the factory wire off the ALT is so small. Ty for this video.
This
Change that alternator n battery
Had the same issue but was just a bad connection at the back of the alternator
Great video I had to do the same thing with sky-high wire Mechman alternator and a AGM Odyssey Battery🇺🇲
I forgot to mention, links to both products in the description! Thanks!
Thank you so much I took care of the problem. The problem was on the left side of the passenger engine bay wall with the harness goes into the computer in the glove compartment looks like a scrap rat chopped away on them in the winter while I used to turn on the truck in my carport due to gravel as well. Gave me a lot of surface. Rust oxide wires, but sniffed everything away. Cleaned everything up fired right up with no problem. Thank you so much. I really appreciate you getting back to me you’re the best.
Right on! I'm glad you figured out the problem!
How are you doing? I have a 91 GMC sierra CK 1500 anyway I am having a problem maybe you can help me I change distributor cap rotor wires plugs Marjo heat sensor sending unit sensor fuel filter, alternator battery, grounded, everything in the engine bay like you could never imagine swapped out alternator wire to to gauge from positive to the alternator. Also change the coil. Hi change everything you could imagine even the bar on the firewall to the passenger side that distributes the current throughout the whole engine, be spotless clean, the right amount of voltage, my hood light works fine my winding light on the fender passenger side works fine and I am still having the check gauge light on and the battery light on I can put the key in fuel pump runs like a baby car will crank all day long will not crank over now. I have no idea maybe being where I’m keeping it at in a carport sitting on top of gravel where they were the dirt ones, I don’t know if that has anything to do with it but before the lights were coming on the truck was turning on and backfiring that issue has stopped. The truck has been running fine parked it didn’t turn it on for a couple days and when I go to turn it on nothing but problems mind you he has a brand new battery as well. Can you help me thank you my name is Wilfredo.
Sorry, Wilfredo. I don't think this video will help you with your problem. Sounds like it might be something outside of the charging system.
Would you be able to share the F360 model?
Possibly? You mean on like Grab Cad or something?
Great video, it's nice to see someone else that puts many miles in their jeeps . . .
Thanks 👍
Looks like a fun car. What front seats do you have? Those look nice.
Hey thanks! Those are the Procar low back vinyl seats from summit with their A body brackets. Very comfortable but you're technically supposed to have a head rest for drag racing.
You just showed me what I need to do on my '89 F150. Thank you.
Cool! Let us know how it goes!
👏👏 nicee!!
Thanks!!
Did you ever figure out the problem
Yes. High resistance in the stock wiring.
@@kellybuilt1 thank you for getting back with me and I found out mine was bad grounds and a bad alternator
Bad grounds will get you.. My ignition box and my front clip wiring were sharing a bad ground a while back and the engine would shut off every time I turned on the right turn signal... It seemed too strange to be true until I fixed the ground!
thanks for the video- on my 91 gmc c1500 the wire on the back of the alternator does not go to the battery, it goes to the junction bar inside the engine bay on the passenger side- is that normal?
if i put a new wire from alternator to battery can I keep the existing one that goes to the junction block or do i need to remove it?
wondering what the downsides are of putting the wg on the housing.. seems like heat would become more of an issue than traditional up-pipe mounted one. nice work though.
If you switch turbos it's kind of a down side. Since you would have to drill and weld the new one again or if you sell the old one to someone the location might not work for their packaging constraints? This one is still going strong after probably 2 dozen passes and some street driving!
@@kellybuilt1 ya, those are obvious and not a big deal. i guess i was wondering if heat would be an issue there or any other problems/cons of doing it. because right now, mines under my turbo so changing springs or doing any maintenance on the lines is a royal pita.. not to mention trying to attach between the uppipe and the downpipe.. super fun..
Yeah recirculating the wastegate sounds like another challenge. Mine just has a short dump pipe to the fender well area. Heat might become more of a problem in a road race application or burnout car or something but a drag/street combo probably doesn't get that hot, just lots of cycles.
What about power loss due to it being directly on the turbo ?
I'm having the same charging problem on my 96 k1500 Did your alternator pully get hot when it was running low voltage. I change the idler pully and belt and alternator. Still runs 10 amps
10 volts I mean
No the pully didn't get hot that I know of. I replaced the alternator a while back because it started growling and making noises. I think the bearings or whatever the shaft rides on failed.
Beautiful! Best subs provider -> 'Promo SM'!!
Good video, thank you for showing that crimping tool I've never seen 1 before.
No problem 👍
Turkey is done...boom one liners get me every time.
I kind of have a thing for shifters...yea buddy
Every $1500 car needs a $400 shifter
🙌
Have never had any charging issues like that with any of my obs's . The problem i have encountered every time is those crappy side post battery clamps.
Yeah I prefer the top post clamps too. They seem to clamp a lot better but I never got around to converting these.
PЯӨMӨƧM 🎊
So the existing alternator wire is discontinued?
No the factory one is still there too. Just added another one.
Im changing that wire, do i need fuse to a 2-4 gauge from the alt to the batt?
Wow this worked for my truck - good Job
Great to hear!
good work 🎉 10/10
Thanks!
Slow on the start sir. Wake up!!!!
You must replace the battery charger with one more ampere; Because this is not enough and it will crash
Great work! 🤩
Dude! Cool car! I absolutely Love the 4 door ass haulin poo mobile idea! Can't wait to see this thing with a few mods to improve the boost creep & such! Keep buildin on em and I will try to get you some more views!! Nicely done!
