    Really love the build,size and features are great! Thanks for sharing everything, do you know the final weight of the camper? Did you use a separate roofing material or just the expoxy and mesh? Hows that holding up to the weather?

      Thanks, 680 kg total weight. The hole camper have fiberglas, epoxy , epoxyprimer and boat print. 30mm insulation in the roof. We have lot of wind, rain and snow in north Norway no problems.

      @@toreinar7702 There is no way that is correct. Most 1/2 ton pickup trucks would be pushing their payload capacity at 998 kg. Your setup does not look safe to me.

      This is a low cost build, i bougt an old caravan and sold the part i did't need. So the camper will cost me around 1400 euro + many hour work. But In Norway its 40.000 euro to purchase one from the dealer.

      @@toreinar7702 -- Well, that's not a very large pickup by American standards. Although, I will admit that I know little about this truck. I'm assuming you have factored the hauling requirements. I'm planning to build my own camper as well. However, I'll be hauling it on either my Dodge 1 ton dually with air bag suspension or my Chevy 2500 HD with air bag suspension as well. Also, I have a GMC 1 ton truck as another option. As you can tell, we haul or tow heavy weight a lot, LOL. Thanks for the reply. Cannot wait to see your finished camper!!

    Like what your building, very intense. Am starting my own camper and still gathering materials. Plywood is not cheap. Notice you build the complete frame out of 2 by 2.. I have had two campers and the weak point is the overhang above the cab. The constant vibration causes immense forces to pull down on that section wrinkling the plywood. Small cracks let water in , not good. Also noticed flat roof. Another place for water to sit. Not good. Commercial campers have a raised middle section for run off. Happy camping Tor Einar.

    • @toreinar7702
      @toreinar7702 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank for the comment , I'ts my first camper build. I have thougt about the overhang, I hope the plywood, strong assembly glue and cramps will hold it. The plywood is mounted to carry some of the weight on the overhang. The roof have a small curv. I will juse fiberglass and topcoat on the outside of the camper.

    • @sharonkasper5126
      @sharonkasper5126 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That will weigh around 1300 pounds. That's one problem with an overhead camper. Weight adds up real fast. My camper will be mostly bare as much as possible with only the real needed items. Portable toilet, sun shower, air mattress, small cook top, limited water tank. The lighter the load, the better the gas millage.👍

    • @toreinar7702
