@@livinginjupiterflorida2049 I found a place I’ve learned to love, with the things that have always been the most important to me-abundant and varied wildlife. I wasn’t born a city girl, and the city holds no thrall for me. The strangest thing to me was the lack of reptiles and amphibians. Safe to garden, swim, walk around. My one dog we call the great lizard hunter, there’s no invasive lizards here (yet). Actually hardly any lizards at all and he’s used to catching redheads and iguanas. (I wouldn’t allow him to catch a Cuban tree frog or Bufo) so life is pretty boring to him now 😂 They do have some massive invasive leopard slugs, non poisonous, if he can get one, good. I keep what Florida and PSL was alive in my heart. Y’all younguns just have no idea how beautiful Florida was in the 60’s. It’s awful now in comparison but yall think it’s great and have no idea about the flora and fauna, nor do you care. Thank you for your kindness and compassion.

Wow I did not notice that the last time I was there, and they did have a police presence but they may have just been passing through. It sounds like you are very familiar with the area. Absolutely agree the cost of living in Florida has increased dramatically, and you pegged many of the reasons why, but truthfully there are some others that make it expensive too. On top of that Palm Beach County is one of the more costly places to live in the state, but I have to say I absolutely love it here, and I am from the midwest where the cost of living does not get much lower. I think it is super important that anyone considering a home here understands the cost of living to make sure that they will be comfortable while they are enjoying paradise, and not feeling house poor. Thank you so much for the response. It can definitely be much more difficult to find properties that make sense to flip than in the past, but they are definitely still out there. The upfront investment to purchase has increased, and the cost to rehab is up, but you can still find properties that provide enough room to make a profit when a project is completed if you know your numbers.
