Distinguish the difference of slavery in BC times vs. our version of slavery: Slavery was a debt paying system in the Middle East. They would be slaves for 7 years and work off their debts. When the 7 years was over they were able to keep their belongings they gained, including spouse and children and any land they gained or were given. This was before there were White colonizers as well.
