    Coach carter was in the right, when you hear how many of them actually went to college and got their degrees vs how many went “pro” coach carter set them up for real success instead of filling their heads with empty promises that would never be, more coaches and teachers need to be like him

    Yeah I can see what's wrong with America. I can imagine these kids and NBA players have done the absolute minimum for the average Individual. To cool to sit with someone at a Rescueission. To cool to hang out with the lone individual in the Library. Kinda Gross and now I look at Some Professional Players differently. At least Elementary, Jr High and High School.

    The most crazy part is that this be special. Where I grew up, going to college was a given and no one would have let any one of us skip classes to play sports. Ever. How these kids are let down with low expectations is heart wrenching. I salute the courage of Coach Carter for doing what is just common sense, but against the pressure of all the community. Great story.

    My HS soccer coach was way way way way crazier than Coach Carter not even close , you had to have minimum 80 in all of your classes, even if your GPA was 3.9 and you had a 79.45 in one of your classes for just a progress report he would still punish you and like for at least 3 weeks , he would make us do seals 🦭 in 100+ degree wether over the turf while trash talking in our faces + you had to break a sub 5:30 minute mile , and do like 80 pushups in a minute or more punishments were coming , also made us do pencil rolls before seals to make us dizzy and many puked

    • @labestiagaming1335
      @labestiagaming1335 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Also made us do weighted lunges all over the track and on rainy days flip tires while cussing us out , he would also get in players heads and tell them that they won’t cut it and we’re gonna fail anyways , if you failed 2 X in a row you were cut from the program , and Cs cost playing time + punishments

    You see… nowadays its different. They are pressing college soo much so that these kids are mostly pressed to either fail or succeed. There is no in between. College nowadays isnt even a good viable option anymore. College is nothing but a scam for most kids that don’t have money. Back then, going to college would have been a good idea. A once in a lifetime opportunity. Thats why they pressed it so hard. Because most kids in those cities didnt have opportunities to go to college because of the backgrounds that they came from, but since their coach expected more from them, they ended up being great and going to college and actually exceeding in every standard of the word.

    It is not the end result, but the journey. I loved it when he called his players down about humiliating the other team. To bad more coaches don't teach that. Win and lose with class.

    people talking about oooo how terrible the educators are blah blah blah, bullshit, Carter himself said that the REAL problem, was the parents. You can only do as good as the parents, and at a certain point you can't throw out you entire student body so their hands are tied, the only reason Carter could do what he did was 1, all he was doing was limiting basketball, and 2, he only had a small group of kids to worry about. I don't say that to undersell it, Carter was awesome and he did great, and the admins really should have been on his side on account of the fact that the consequences didn't expand to the entire student body (would certainly make a hell of a disciplinary tool) but the origin of all the problems, is the parents, not the school board, the parents.

    My pops benched me freshman year. I was playing varsity football and baseball. His deal was 2.5 or better. Made me watch my team lose. From the stands. I put my effort into my grades 1,000%. Coaches were calling my pops and saying that according to the rules, I was allowed to play. My pops said no. "That's not the deal I have with my son". I got my grades up and never tested my dad again. I have a good life because my dad set standards. Thank you, dad!

    "Nothing is impossible to those that believe". I've seen the movie "Coach Carter" it is remarkable! If anybody tell you something can't be done after hearing what they need to do to accomplish it. Leave those people behind and go accomplish what task that was put before you. It is not you who will accomplish the task at hand. But God who is helping you to do it. Negative thoughts or negative people has never accomplished anything but negativity! Remember that.

    To all these commenter saying that we need or they want more people like Coach Carter, I want to remember one thing: there are plenty of people out there that could and would do what he did. The problem is there are too many woke and liberal people that will not let it happen because being like coach Carter requires two very important things. Being a Godly person and tough love. Wokes and liberals will not let educators of any kind be that way because that kind of person puts a stop to kids becoming like the wokes and the liberals. That's just the truth.

    SNEAKY?? ah?? OK.. never low the guard WHAT I LOVED OF COACH CARTER WAS: * U do things, u do it on my way= fun and behave * I wanted to understand USA mentality... "ok, got it... shoot them" * I quickly understand that the levels were too high... like soccer in my city * Transform Basket into soccer at 5= so they can understand me * Than i realized that WOMEN PLAY SOCCER, and man NFL * The situation it was disastrous and they need entertainment in a ferocious way= like soccer in Italy * I TRYED IT, CUZ IN ITALY WE COPY USA - We send there our best minds - In italy they are called FAILURES - U got money and u invest= take risks - If it works... u make a worldwide brand= make money and history * MY DREAM WITH HIGH STRATEGY RISK WAS: - Coach Carter, i like it - Full of Gossip= 95% of profits= have u ever seen someone who speack and make money= all failed for sure - Glory Road= not the second, cuz in Inter and Naples just who wins write history... all others are forgotten= u are behind, but THE COACH MATTER - And Coaches are the first from the last= always sacked every 1-2 years= it is what USA stupify me... how can it be, is it true??... i went into serious difficulty with my mind * SO= END OF THE STORY TAIL - In Italy we need Great Examples= coaches - And good women beside u= also female politics - SPORT SOCIETY ALWAYS FAIL (cuz it must be clean).. ALWAYS... to have profits u gotta learn to WIN= BE a WINNER... and u do it on my way... and my way is harsh - And after 2 years... goodbye.. the way it works IT IS LIKE RELATIONSHIPS: - 2 years max - U become a winner - U earn, so i do... = DONT BREAK MY MIND OR UR GONNA PAY FOR IT - If u have learned some... u'll become a winner= it is what coaches do - I can adapt, society has changed= all USA mentality, more or less= never tell the truth, more permalous than me= quite difficult - Pacts clear, eternal friendship (even if I shoot u)... knowing the trap= u arrive to the end and someone enter/substitute= all failed in the end= U LEARN TO NOT BE FAKE AND I LEARNED THE PRACTICLE MEANING OF THE WORLD... "UTOPIA" MY DREAM WAS BROKEN

    I think coach Carter is great! But the movie is total b*******? I'm sure that's due to Hollywood trying to take a legitimate story & make it somehow better in their mind. Idk. In my opinion, It's total b******* that these kids need to keep their grades up to his standards & when he speaks to the superintendent, she tells him most of these kids won't even graduate. Yet his only concern is *his* basketball players. If you're so f****** concerned about people doing good & going to college maybe you should stop coaching. & become a cheerleader for everyone else!!? Like I said, I'm sure that it's just the movie gassing up the situation. But it really pissed me off.... with his drive/personality, this dude could have better served a larger portion of students/ community as well. It's the kids that aren't trying to join sports that are more at risk than anyone. This is a f****** game.... It does not teach you leadership when you have somebody leading the leader that leads. (It's oxymoronic) Also, the scenes where he makes them do insanely excessive amounts of suicide runs or push-ups. Before a game!!!!!!!!! That makes absolutely no sense at all. I don't give a f*** how young you are... doing 500/ 250 push-ups a day at any random time that he decides you need to do them would make you exhausted and muscle growth is going to be stunted. & In the movie this ish happens pre-game??? IMO the movie should have been more to the point. More accurate an a lot less sensational... it's already an inspiring story! But the situation with Ashanti being pregnant & her bf. They could have used that to address a very serious issue. If it's all about the coach then maybe that's what they should have done. Just make a movie about the Coach, none of the side drama. IMO Now, I'm sure I'm going to get all kinds of smoke..... but it's my opinion.

      Teen pregnancy is a serious issue (esp for minorities, ie black people) black fathers being present, affording childcare, poverty. So I think those scenes where important. Showed more real life issues.
