I can totally relate to instantly being drawn to the alcohol from the very first sip (who am I kidding, I shotgunned that first beer). I had a love affair with Jameson Black Label. I smoked my parents' cigarettes.... the differences: 1- I started drinking at 11 years old. 2- I figured out at 11 1/2 years old that if I stole my step mom's Cocaine made it really easy to do all the Stopping I wanted go 3) I never married anyone. 4) When it comes to my addiction I can, have, and wi 24:15 ll find somethi🎉 24:06 ng or someone in some form of my addiction 4) I couldn't think straight. Everything was a road to another addiction. For example, 1 had just celebrated 2 years sober in December of 2024. But, I got there and there a series of stupid thinking almost took me our. I stopped going to meetings, stopped talking to my sponsees and sponsor, stopped working my steps... Stopped Praying and Meditating... all that to say, it took me a grand total of 90 days to go over $10,000.00... I quickly turned myself into a shopping addict. I didn't pick up a drink or a drug, which is the only reason I'm still hiding stready. But I knew I if I did bite the bullet, swallow my pride, and ask for help, and admit what I've done... though this year I have changed programs and am.now a Member of AA. And I'm so glad I mad that move.

Yep…well articulated. WE have to be here, even when we believe the we don’t need it. A person will come in the room and need our experience, strength, and hope. They will need us to believe they can get sober when they don’t think they can. They will need to feel our collective love, energy, and peace of mind. They will need to see us persevere in sobriety even when it seems like our lives are falling apart. We DO carry the message and we pass it on. ❤☮️💜

Great share. I just got 10 years sober. I have never been so much at peace. As saved my life and gave me a simple life I thought I could never have.

You've earned a new sub. Some great speakers here I've never heard, as most of the other channels tend to just have the super 'famous' ones.
