Gattaca (1997~ Andrew Niccol)
Ambientada en una sociedad futura, Vincent (Ethan Hawke), es uno de los últimos niños concebidos de modo "natural". Nace con una deficiencia cardíaca y no le auguran más de treinta años de vida. Se le considera un inválido. Su hermano Anton (Loren Dean), en cambio, concebido in vitro, ha recibido una espléndida herencia genética que le garantiza múltiples oportunidades.
La vida entre los hermanos, desde su infancia, es de una rivalidad siempre desnivelada en favor de Anton. Uno de los retos es lanzarse a una carrera de natación en una playa, que consiste en nadar y probar quién llega más lejos. Inesperadamente, Vincent gana en una ocasión.
En este clip de la película, Anton, dolido por la derrota con su hermano cuando eran niños, le vuelve a retar y, de nuevo, cae derrotado. Anton no se lo puede creer y le pregunta a Vincent cómo ha podido batirle. Y este le contesta: «Nunca dejé nada para la vuelta».
La película es un perfecto ejemplo sobre la superación y la fuerza de la voluntad humana y nos muestra que nada ni nadie puede impedirnos que logremos nuestros ideales o sueños.
