Rock Island VR80 12GA. Overview - DACK Outdoors
มุมมอง 2.6K5 ปีที่แล้ว
Carsley with DACK Outdoors is here to show you the details on one of the hottest shotguns on the market right now, the Rock Island Armory VR80. This semi-auto 12ga. is packed full of features that you're going to love.
The only difference is the grip module. The slide is the same as 365. Only difference. There saved y’all time.
I can’t imagine anyone using their red dot or iron sights when the shit hits the fan, it’s point and shoot. Optics and flashlights are gimmicks for gun owners to spend more money. It’s called advertising bullshit.
lengTH widTH depTH heigHT See the difference? I'll never understand why people say "HEIGHTH". THERE IS NO SUCH WORD.
NO it's junk, mine won't shoot. If anyone has fixed one, let me know what to do to it.
what happens to you? sell but don't deliver? I have been asked for the FFL several times, I have sent it and I have not received any information about my order.
Just purchased something from the site today
Welcome to DACK - and thank you for choosing us! We look forward to meeting all of your shooting sports needs :)
@@DACKOutdoors hey still waiting for Support to get back to me about the ffl
@@BenBingohohahow was your experience with them? Did you get your order?
@@FLORIDAMANNEWS_ prior to ordering I reached out to make sure that it was actually available was told yes… 35 days later got an email saying that it was not able to go through due to inventory issues. Communication also not the greatest at all. And I’m not want to talk shit on businesses, but I was pretty disappointed.
@@FLORIDAMANNEWS_ reached out prior to actually ordering asked if it was in stock and available was told yes 35 days later again an email saying that it wasn’t able to go through due to inventory issues extremely poor communication and I’m not one to talk shit on businesses as a small business ownerbut I was extremely extremely disappointed
Why do all these channels start with some yahoo shooting a weapon. Who cares - get to the point.
I put the xl on my 365 instead of buying a new gun. My 365 was already optic cut and I put the sig flat trigger in it.
Thanks for the video. I went with the 365xl and in all honesty I couldn’t be happier, my back up is a Ruger LCP Max.
What holster was on you in this video?
That is an Alien Gear shapeshifter. They're absolutely fantastic, especially if you buy the complete kit that allows you to quickly swap them from a paddle holster to IWB holster to a vehicle mount.
@@DACKOutdoors Thank you!
Great video! Appreciate the review and insight. I wanted to ask about the charging handle specifically. I have not been able to get my hands on it myself, and wanted to ask is the charging handle flimsy/week, I believe it’s polymer/ plastic. Thanks again for the review :-)
I like the Springfield 2020 target That I purchased, and I am still working to find ammo that it likes. Most common rimfire rifle ammo is not going to preform like match rounds. I think I found the right scope for it in a Marcool 4-16 and still under the price of a CZ 457. The trigger is replaceable with a Remington style trigger, it is retained with two screws from the bottom of the receiver. Thats where the trigger hanger is removed to expose the trigger pins, also best I can tell the replacement Remington type trigger needs to be without the bolt stop! The original trigger is adjusted like a Remington though. I also recent tried Ruger brand magazine and it didn't function reliable at all the Springfield mags are made it around .003- .004 closer tolerances on the feed rails.
I tried over a dozen for my Ruger precision rim fire and it was a joke for what it cost. Wouldn’t hold less than 2 inches at 50yds
Great video. I added a flat Trigger to my P365 and love it🔥
That added beaver tail is the reason I dont like the x
Great review
Just ordered a binary trigger on your website can't wait to try out!
Does Sig make backstraps like Glock for their frames? I held a regular p365 and my hand was way too big for the grip
OK!
I got the p365 romeo package, and love it.. The grip is a bit rough on the belly, but myself, or my small hand wife, can handle this weapon with ease. This thing makes my previous XD sub compact feel like a brick by comparison If I could go back I might get it without the optic though. My astigmatism is making the reticle just too blurry for me to use.
I'm thinking the critical duty +p 124gr and 135gr would be perfect ammo for carbines. Can't find anyone testing them out of a carbine?
It’s a 💩 turd
Great review and comparison. Very good advice.
Worst rimfire rifle of 2023. Can you upgrade it ? No you cannot polish a turd !!
It really seams Luke they gave the buyer a million options wich I love because with that interchangeable unit you can make your sig exactly what you want !
I appreciate the review, but I would like to offer my opinion since you ask if this is the best rimfire for the money. I say no, strictly because of the accuracy. I like most all of the features of the rifle, but the sub-par accuracy is a deal breaker for me. And the 1" @ 50 yd THREE-shot group with Lapua Center X ammo guarantee is just embarresing. I would HIGHLY recommend spending a little more money and buying a CZ 457. This is coming from someone who owns a 10/22, a ruger american rimfire, and a 457.
I too am disappointed with my 2020 Target. Accuracy wise, NOT worth what is paid for one.
I’ve watched many 22 rimfire rifle channels and all of them say it’s a terrible gun. Many people say a savage rifle is better than this gun. He says don’t count the flyers but u have to cuz that’s apart of the group.
I bought the Ruger PC Carbine, the AR style one. It's easily my favorite shooter at the range. From what I've seen, whether it's the extra points of contact or the extended barrel length, they all seem to be tack drivers. 👍
Great review 👏
I love my 365xl
Why I. Built mine was a few reason ,price of ammo ,some gun clubs have shoots ,home defence . I have so many different cal . If I had to pick one firearm it would be the ar platform .
Awesome! Nicely executed footage! Great editing! Excellent work!
All honest reviews of this rifle have junked it. I own a Norinco EM332 that cost me $160, and it will shoot sub MOA at 50 and 100 yards.
Ours was an honest review as well and as the video shows, it preformed well for us. We too have read bad reviews of it - but with this particular one we didn't have an issue. Is it a high-end target shooter? No? It is what it says it is and is priced accordingly in our opinion. Thanks for the feedback and for checking out the video!
@@DACKOutdoorsgood small game rifle, and a good looking rifle at that.
I saw you take the rifle out of the box and start shooting immediately. I'm a S&W person and have several pistols and rifles. I clean everything before i shoot it. My Response had the dirtiest barrel of anything I've gotten to date. When i got my M14 in the Army they made us clean them before we shot them. Thanks for the video.
124gr Speer gold dot 16.1" 1346fps. 124gr +P Speer gold dot 16.1 1422fps. I have the FPC and was wondering the same thing. Lucky Gunner has a video on this very subject, where they test different defensive ammo in 3.5" up to 16.1" barrels. These were the numbers they got for Speer gold dot ammo. My 124gr HST only reached 1256fps & 124gr +P HST 1321fps. They said 10-15% increase for 9mm velocity through a 16" barrel.
Very smooth and practical.
I had an issue with the Response where I couldn’t eject a live, unfired +p Nosler 147gr JHP loaded by Underwood Ammo. The polymer charging handle wouldn’t budge. After using what I would call extreme force attempting to pull that charging handle back, the round finally ejected. I was left with a nice blood blister on the tip of my index finger. I swapped the polymer charging handle out with a Breek Arms Warhammer. The Response was unfired and brand new when this happened. I called S&W and a S&W customer service representative blamed Underwood... even after I made it clear that the Response ejects my other Underwood loads with no problem. (Lehigh Xtreme Defender in various grains, Speer Gold Dot, etc.)
Hope everyone had a Great Thanksgiving with their family and friends! And that their wallets are still full after Black Friday! LOL
"Promosm"
Way too much glass.
It's on the upper end for glass...but it works perfectly. Especially since the RT-6 is a true 1 power and then you've got all the variable you want. A 1-4 or something even less would be fine, a red dot would be fine...but nothing wrong with this setup, either. Thanks for the feedback!
9mm isn't designed for precision shooting or sniping. The Response, made of polymer and spartan design is best suited with a red dot sight.@@DACKOutdoors

Great prize for the right time for hunting.
Great review thanks! I was on the fence with this but it seems to be a good choice for me.
Thanks! Smith has really done something great with this one. Be sure to check out the links in the description for a discount on this rifle plus reduced shipping!
Nice review. I purchased a FPC before the release of the Response. I like the 1800's cowboy philosophy of common ammo between my carry handgun (a S&W 9C) and carbine. Right now, my carry ammo is 124gr +P Speer Gold Dot, but still looking for ballistics data for defensive 9mm thru a 16 inch barrel. Also trying to figure out what the best zero should be with a maximum 100 yard self defense distance.
We literally cut out the part in our video where Carsley talked about how the cowboys used to carry multiple platforms that shot the same ammo! We find these types of rifles to fit our needs with at 50yd zero.
From what I gathered from my research the best barrel length for 9mm is around 7 inches because the velocity speeds start to show diminishing returns after that. Bigger calibers can utilize the increased velocity with less diminishing returns.
Nice
Great review, nice 9mm firearm
Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment!
Carbines are becoming the "go to" weapon
Agreed - ammo price is cost-effective and more than capable for self-defense.
Unfortunately a huge swing and a miss with springfield. Riddled with QA/QC issues and average results that are way below the rest of the market. Truly one to stay away from guys
I couldn't agree more!
awesome
Like the idea of pistol and carbine in 9mm. Can use the same ammo.
Exactly! Cowboys used to use this same principle. They'd carry a revolver and a repeater that used the same ammo.
