Now that I'm semi-retired, I needed to find something to do that would be fun and entertaining. Since I love to help people learn, and I love to draw in Procreate, I decided to share my how-to and demo videos on my channel. I hope you find it to be fun, informative and entertaining.I will aim to load a new video every Tuesday - we can call it Tutorial / Demo Tuesday!

THANK YOU SO MUCH DUDE!! This saved my life 😭❤️
I can’t turn my pref off. 😢
correct. Pref is a menu, not a choice.. are there specific preferences you can not select/unselect?
It doesn't work. Scribble is off. 🙄
try using the forefingers of both hands. If that does not work, contact support.
@@procreatebasics already done, thanks. Their kind suggestions don't work.
Thank you!
Thank you!! I spent hours trying to find a brush similar to this!! You're my hero!!
glad I could help
Simple, clean and cute! 10/10!
its so clean and so cute😭
Thank you so fucking much Man U made this so damn simple to do
Thank you! Subscribed ❤
glad you liked it - and thanks for subscribing!
Innovative !!
Very nice !!
Requires a lot of diligence and patience - thanks
Yes, but SO satisfying when it's done!
@@procreatebasics yes indeed, I was referring to your meticulous iterations which go into the project, would very much like to have more such tutorials - so helpful!!
No it didn't work.
did you turn off scribble?
@@procreatebasics i did now that worked
While I appreciate the effort put into this video…does anyone know of a less time-consuming way to achieve this in Procreate? I currently use Amaziograph which allows me to create any number of segment mandala mirroring. The drawback is that it doesnt support layer transparency for imported imagery in the way that procreate does.
definitely something that I would like to see in this program!. you can use Amaziograph, and then I have a video short on how to remove a white background in PROcreate.
@@procreatebasics Amaziograph allows you to export with transparent background so my workflow includes this step into procreate for colour. I guess Procreate doesn’t yet have the facility to create ‘any’ number rotational reflection, which is unfortunate as it has the superior drawing and painting tools and handles the placement of ref images and (as I like to do) rough pencil underdrawings. I’m just about to upload my first mandala coloring book to Kindle KDP (Enchanted Mandalas: Hidden Gems (8th June 24)) if you’re interested in where I get to with Amaziograph and procreate (particularly the cover image), though I have a more exciting mandala-style title coming out sometime next week. I think they take 3 days to be approved so maybe nothing until Tuesday/Wednesday. Anyway, thanks for your reply and keep up the good work!
Very useful, thanks for explaining it so clearly
"Open with" doesn't have Procreate listed and Google Drive doesn't have it in a search for the app.
When doing the import, click on the 3 dots to choose a different method
Thank you! Been trying for days to fiind this and turn it off.
If you do the shading on the original two links prior to making the brush will it work that way? So it’s pre shaded thus not having to do it by hand every time?
great question! you could pre-shade, but then the shadows and highlights would not line up in the direction you would want, since they would be on the line of the brush rather than being from a specific light source.
Tbh you kinda over complicated it for me, I just needed up until 3:40. Thanks tho I understand it better now
I do tend to over-simplify because most people appreciate it. I'm glad you were able to use the first 4 min for what tyou needed
@@procreatebasics It was a good video, no hate, definitely using this to help me print/ scale my designs for my leatherwork, thanks again!
YEESSAAS THANK YOU SO MUCH 😭😭😭 ITS BEEN MONTHS!
Can we just save the image as a regular png, jpeg etc
Yes, you can save in any of the available formats.
Hi, is possible to move the green point for ratate with other rererence
It will always rotate by the center of the object selected. To change the center point, select more than one object
@@procreatebasics is not possible
@@DavidVilcadvilca I probably do not understand what is going on. I was able to do it. But I was able to do what I was thinking of.
Thank you very much
welcome
Cute!
Thank you! I need this last night 🤷♀️. But now I have it saved.
glad I could help!
Thanks for this great video!
thanks for watching
If your 3 finger swipe does not work - go to the wrench/spanner = select Prefs = Gesture controls = Copy & Paste
Thank you!
Aww they look so cute!
Thx
❤
Thank you SO SO SO much!!! Took me forever to find someone to show me how to remove this. Not many people to show others how. Thank you again!!! :D
I wish I can give you the keys to the city because this is the best class. Thank you for taking the time to make it.
thank you so much! I'm glad it helped!
Thank you!!
Anyone know why if I make a custom canvas in inches, pc won’t let me change dpi to 300 because my layers are stuck on 400 layers. Please help
I've been trying to figure out exactly what is happening, but it seems I don't have enough information. Please join my FB group and ask your question there. facebook.com/groups/procreatebasics
Where have you been all my life 😂 wonderful tutorial! Thank you
thank you
In case you cannot change from pixels to inches - try this: Procreate responded: It looks like your friend is using the Floating Keyboard. We have a known bug at the moment, where the unit in Drawing Guides cannot be changed when the floating keyboard is active. We have this logged for improvement with our team. Please let her know that if she tries reverting the keyboard to normal size before editing the Drawing Guides by doing the following: place two fingers on the floating keyboard, then spread her fingers apart to enlarge the keyboard back to full size, and then let go, she will be able to use the full-size keyboard and edit units in Edit Drawing Guides again. so, do an add text and change your floating keyboard to maximize. I did a video on it here: th-cam.com/users/shortsaGv66i7tZPE
THANK YOU SO MUCH 💗💗💗
When I click on the pixels to change the size of the grid in inches. It doesn’t give me that option. It just has pixels… any idea on how to get the option for mm, cm and inches? Thank tou
3rd section of the video wrench - canvas - turn on drawing guide select edit drawing guide click on the number next to grid size THAT is where you see how to change to a different measurment
@@procreatebasics yes I know. But when I click on the number next to the grid size it isn’t coming up either mm, cm, inches. It’s just giving me the numbers in the middle. Without the measurements of mm, cm, inches down the side like yours
@@HaldanaMorton-px2hz this dloes not sound right to me either. can you join my FaceBook group and show me a video of it?

Thank you awesome video
Super helpful
Is there a tutorial on making the paper so big that you can have detail on it being zoomed out but can pinch to zoom from Outer space and then get all the way to inside someone’s window and then inside their computer and then then inside, etc.… i’ve seen some amazing art lately that has so much detail that can just continually be zoomed into.
I don't know of tutorials, but you could do that with animation, maybe a different app would work.... infinite paper maybe?
Did you ever find it?
Wonderful! Why not offer a few rulers for sale? I’d be happy to pay for an mm ruler A3 size (420mm). I figure we could use it as a separate transparent layer on top of our work, a horizontal above and a and vertical one to the left. It would be extremely convenient for making book covers as they require a lot of measuring. Almost as good as the Photoshop rules that you can pull giding lines from.
Doesnt work. Go to settings and under "apple pencil" turn off the scribble tab, then close procreate and reopen it, then you will have the full size keyboard.
I just tried it with 2 hands, and it worked for me, so I tried with only one hand, and it was harder, bit did work. Which iPad do you have and what is your current iOS and PROccreate versions?
Turning off scribble was the only way for me to get it to a full size keyboard in Procreate. Everywhere else worked with the pinch. So annoying.
THANK YOU
Thanks men!!!!
thankyou for saving my life with this comment
Thankyou so much for this awesome tutorial! Straight to the point and very easy to follow thanks to you my picture quality is 100x better!☺️
So glad I could help!
Quick question. Any idea how to make a brush that would mimic a pallet knife the way artists use it to make mountains in paintings?
I've never worked on something like that, but you could maybe use the calligraphy brush 1 as your shape
THANK YOU!!! I was struggling XD
Very interesting information, thanks
Hey I hope you can respond! My friend took some engagement pictures from a dslr camera. Once we put the file into the computer, the file info says the DPI is 72. I then transferred the pic to procreate and increased the DPI to 300 as per your video. My question is, if I were to print this picture into a big poster with the new 300 DPI, will the print come out as good quality? Or willl it be pixelated since the original pic is 72 DPI Appreciate a quick response!
DPI is determined by the camera, not the PC. try creating a project with 300 DPI and import the photo in that way. Also, look up the DPI settings for the camera to determine how to change it there.
