Interesting to catch a fawn urinating on its tarsal glands, and then seeing his mother lick them. Also note the missing tail on the fawn. It's not a recent injury, so I wonder if it was born like that.

NOx Meter Use
มุมมอง 4002 ปีที่แล้ว
Using a Stand-alone NOx meter to diagnose Diesel SCR Systems. Due to outlet NOx sensors having 100% crosstalk to Ammonia, the outlet NOx sensor may or may not be accurate when the system malfunctions. Without knowing true NOx out the tailpipe, you can't accurately diagnose the system. The sensor in a NOx bench doesn't have crosstalk to Ammonia, so you can use it to work on SCR Systems.

I just replaced the upstream nox sensor and it’s showing no com I went ahead and graphed and it staying way out of range at right about 65575 this doesn’t seem right
You're right. That's not a correct reading. What code did you have to start with? What code have you got now?

@@anthonyrodriguez243 If a new NOx Sensor didn't fix it, check to make sure you put the correct one in there, and check the serial data lines to it from the PCM. I don'[t believe there are any other sensors on those lines, so it should be easy to check them.

As always, Thanks Nick! I appreciate the feedback.
Love the nox analysis stuff Joe. I still need to buy myself a gas bench tester. I know you say this tester will read upto 1500ppm but im actually struggling to find somewhere that sells it
Your Snap-on Dealer can get them now. HHGA1-NOX is the new part number.
Little insight, ive seen a ton of these def injectors pass quantity tests and a leak test but still cause a rise in nox 2 readings while driving due to the flow of the exhaust pulling def into the exhaust. Had several stump me and after def injector replacement the nox 2 readings dropped significantly.

Like the tool. Only thing I would say is they should have made the switch make continuity when in the on position to the meter. I can see alot of fuses being blown . Lol
I agree, Or maybe mark it METER and BYPASS, or something descriptive like that.
I'm getting this code and my truck is losing coolant. The dealer did a pressure test and they said it held for 30 minutes, but I'm thinking the coolant is leaking via the EGR cooler into the exhaust and causing this code. I cannot seem to rely on the Dealer garages for anything, it's so frustrating. In fact, one garage destroyed the engine and it was replaced 30k miles ago. This is a '20 Duramax with 82k miles.
If you're losing coolant, and can't find it, definitely do an oil analysis. Remember, the engine inhales whatever passes through the EGR cooler. It'll show up in the oil. (But so would head gaskets etc.)
@@joediagnostics Thanks! I did visually inspect the oil and it seems to not have coolant in it... and no condensation on the oil cap. Garage is looking at it next week.
@@RandomStuff-zt6qf OK. It's definitely possible to detect it in the oil and not see it though. You can usually spot popped coolers without a ton of trouble, so a good shop will get you sorted out.
@@joediagnostics thanks! I've got an apt with the GM dealer on the 8th, wish me luck

Dumb question! Edge wont show turbo boost on screen. Called snapon tech, he couldn't find the parameter.
What engine? Try looking in the "Pressures" menu. If it's missing, let tech support know. The number is on the back of the tool.
@@joediagnostics I contacted the yesterday, they are calling it MAP in hg.
hey buddy what's ur number?
Can u navigate service info if u dont have a fault code ???? Like other service subscriptions
Awesome video but is there a preference for when you test this? Such as at idle or during road test or maybe during regeneration? I think it wouldn’t matter as long as it’s a 90% efficiency rate right ?
If the system is hot an operating, you're right. It should always be 90% reduction. if you're looking for DEF crystals sublimating (boiling) off, then it will have to be under heavy load, or during a regen/scr test. The exhaust has to be really hot for that.
Hello, can I ask you which mileage your vehicle had when you did this diagnostic procedure? I’m asking because I would like to know when to approximately expect a degraded SCR catalyst.
Sorry. It 's not my truck. I don't remember the mileage, but I've seen a few of these go past 200,000 miles with good SCRs. The ones I see fail are all ones with lots of idle time on them.
@@joediagnostics Alright, thank you for your answer :)

How did u teach your Quaker to do this? I have 2 quakers.
He wasn't trained to do it. He started doing it on his own. We've got 2 Quakers and they both like to build stuff. One alternates between building stacks of chop sticks and shredding string into big piles. The other weaves string into the bars of the cage. they build huge colonies in the wild (as I bet you already knew) so it's natural for them to do it.
Awesome video

Also, if this one is 0ppm - 600ppm then the other snap on 5 gas unit that doesnt actually specify its for use on diesels, can that 5 gas be used anyway? Cheers
Although the spec for the NOx meter is 0-600 ppm it's the same range as the HHGA5 gas bench. I wouldn't use a 5 gas on a diesel. It ruins the O2 sensors. They start reading higher than ambient. Then you have to replace it(just the O2 sensor).
Hey Joe, would you be able to tell me the range of the nox sensor on this? Is it 0ppm - 1500pm? Or is it only 0ppm - 600ppm? Cheers
It's 0-1500ppm.
@@joediagnostics thankyou so much for the reply Joe

Do you have any Mitchell Connect videos for ProLink Edge?
JKust for the Pro Link Ultra, but it works exactly the same on both scanners: th-cam.com/video/_22WNsim8Bs/w-d-xo.html
been hearing about the GM MDI2 with the GDS2 software.....some mechanics say this is the only way to go when trying to reset the Nox sensors when replaced. Also, dd you follow the technical service bulletin on DPF regeneration after any Nox sensor replacement which will enable you to complete a Nox sensor replacement. I see you used the Zeus and Edge snapon during the diagnostics and reset. Personally, I am convinced the GDS2 software or the Tech2win software (depending on duramax year model) is not necessary for resetting the emission system once the faulty part has been replaced.
I haven't had any trouble using the Snap-on scanner to do any emission reset on a GM.
Where are you located. Thanks

On 07 Toyota highlander 3.3 engine Can't run EVAP test on autel or launch says message scan tool not able to control vacuum pump vent VSV or purge all conditions or met fuel temp and level engine not running I was able to do with snap on vantage legend but under 07 highlander there no EVAP test functions only if I ID car as 06 highlander with 2.4 it was able to get it to work but only EVAP manual was available ( will Evap manual test show pending DTCS if for system issues like leak p0455 or p0456 or does only EVAP Automatic test only show it?
Hi Justin. You have to run the automatic test to get the vehicle to show a Pending Code. The manual test won't do it. If that test doesn't show up in the scan tool for that year, definitely call their tech support and report it. The vehicle definitely does the test. It's a software error on the scanners part.

I wonder if this tool can reset eeprom memory in a Freightliner Cascadia Semi. When erasing codes does it reset eeprom memory or no? Thank you.
If you're talking about reprogramming top speed, PTO settings and things like that stored in the EEPROM, then yes, but if you're talking about re-writing it, clearing EEPROM errors or rewriting the entire cal file, then no.
No

Hey Joe if the rear nox sensor has cross talk from a failed ammonia slip cat does a off truck clean ( ultra sonic tub clean) help with problem or do you just replace the system?
I don't know. I've never tried cleaning one. I suspect it might depend on what killed it, but I've only ever replaced them. It would be great to know they could be cleaned.
can you please make more vidios.. and how to use transmission software wiht the pro-link edge if you dont want to conect to the engine if im want to use only the transmission software please can you show over here please thankyou

Hi Joe, I was recently gifted a Pro-Link iQ (NEXiQ) When screen comes on it shows Snap-on. I am trying to register and activate my device. When I get to the Admin screen then configuration, I don't get all the other screens that you did. All I get is user info, time and date, and configure touch screen. I guess this product is too old? What do you think I can do? and Great video tutorial!
Call Tech Support. It sounds like a server error. They can fix it remotely. Phone number is on the back of the tool.
