Last time I've removed it to recharge and now it doesn't click back on the door any more meaning it can be removed without inserting the pin. Any idea how can I sort this? Nothing seems damaged.

Totally agree with all comments. I'm sure many people have thought of using vinegar, the classic solution for removing calcium deposits. But what are the steps to do it? My only thoughts were to sever the tube/line prior to where it enters the fridge, place the tube in a pail of vinegar solution and run the water until hopefully it clears the line enough to be functional. Then run clean water thru the system until the vinegar is gone from the system. this also depends on being able to buy some type of splice so I can reconnect the tubes without it leaking. The only other option seems to be to completely replace the fridge tubing, but not sure if that is doable.

And how come after all these millions of years they didn't also gain the ability to cope with different bacteria than those they are used to? Don't bacteria evolve faster than elephants and dogs? And finally, how come we lost the tolerance for bacteria in our drinking water? Isn't it a fundamentally basic survival trait that would have helped us immensely over the last few thousand years?
