NCWC Powerland 09292024 Sunday Morning Battle
Again, Sunday’s NCWC Civil War Reenactments morning battle made the best use of the Calvary on the Battle Field and again they are looking great. Yes the Infantry and Artillery are looking good as well and were attacked more frequently by the Calvary. It was great. Enjoy!

Northwest Civil War Council Civil War Reenactments are generally scheduled on weekends. They can also get extended when there is a holiday like the 4th of July or Labor Day. Just about every Saturday Night during the Reenactment, NCWC will host a Civil War Dance at the Reenactment site and last weekend was no different. We have a dance instructor who teaches the reenactors all the correct steps...

Most NCWC Civil War Reenactments happen on weekends and so every Sunday morning before battle and pre-battle activities start, military and civilian reenactors spend an hour and go to Church at the Reenactment site. And yes the Northwest Civil War Council has its own Minister and he is He gives an excellent Christian Sermon

This gentleman is a Tinsmith based in eastern Idaho and he makes all sorts of creative art work as well as cups, spoons and other useful and decorative items. He did note that he dose not use any lead in the items that he makes, just tin and lead free solder
NCWC Powerland - Craft of making Brooms

This lady is the owner of "The Historical Broom Shop" based in eastern Idaho and she makes several different brooms that range from small brooms used for cleaning vegetables, to brooms used for dusting, to brooms to clean the floors and her brooms are fantastic as the video documents.

NCWC - The Ladies Chat

During a Northwest Civil War Reenactment, our civilian Ladies like to have fun discussing the news of the day in 1863 during the American Civil War. These ladies portray women living in the southern states and are Confederate. They have family members fighting in the war and so they share any information they get with one another.

Usually around 12 noon during a reenactment, NCWC will do a surprise performance. Last Sunday at Powerland, Brooks, Oregon a Confederate Reenactor was caught fighting for the Union and charged with Treason and it was decided by the Confederate Commander that he should be executed. You will probably notice that in spite of the seriousness of the charge, the participants had a good time.

Once in a while, Northwest Civil War Council Union Reenactors like to have fun with a game of American Civil War Trivia Question and Answer. Each Reenactor spends the off season studying the character they portray at a reenactment. But they also work on increasing their general knowledge on the American Civil War. As a member of the Northwest Civil War Council Calvary, intensive training is required for both the rider and the horse. In this video you will see one of the training exercises that the NCWC Calvary frequently do involving the use of sword while riding their horse.

I've known a little bit or a lot of civil war reenacting it ain't larp I had a grandfather and some other people teach me and some stuff I read they use black powder guns that fire blanks the swords and knives they use are real and the uniforms and shoes are reproductions so I hate to say this but when people call civil war reenacting larp it makes me a little mad if any civil war reenactors not larpers pleas comment or add

I’m sorry, but not one good confederate impression, Union sharpshooters and some of the Union soldiers are looking super decent and nice. Plenty of new research on the confederates on whatever era your portraying, it just looks like the confederates are stuck in the 90s.
Unfortunately, that's the stereotype in Washington Civil War reenacting- cheesy farby Confederates with a few shining exceptions, and the 2nd USSS are always the pinnacle of authenticity and quality lol
