this was amazing! Only issue I am running into is my IDLE and CLIIMBING animations are in the correct orientation... It works climbing up and when I stop it works... but when I first press E to attach to the ladder I am facing sideways.... idk what's going on... Once I start climbing everything is perfect!
@@heyimskully yes that what’s was happening for me I beleive I fixed it setting the actor rotation or making a few different facing ladders
@@quinnanthony Amazing, I am going to keep playing with it! Can you do a mantling tutorial next haha yours are the easiest to follow along! I want to be able to have my character pull himself up ledges and tops of ladders!
If I wanted to add a flight state, what would I do? Same process but add the needed nodes and numbers in the IS state ? Or do I just do the animations and it will do it ?
i finish all your tutorial and i can capture the flag but i can not but it back to the capture area. any idea why?

I can't help but feel like the whole Blueprint thing should've been a little more simple than a bunch of round-a-bout way of doing things. Still, thank you for telling us about these things. Datatable seems to help a lot. I'm still learning all of this myself but can clearly tell that UE has come a long way. And yes, I liked and subscribed. Keep up the good work.

thanks for tutorial. how we can adjust character hand in right position when flash light is turn on?
You could make a new animation for that and use play animation to play your animation when the light is on . Making that kind of animation can be done in the engine by duplicating the walking animation and moving their arm bone and then press the +key button to save that animation and position of the bones

@@andresdelacallemartos7255 hey you can switch the order around of your get player controller>set show mouse cursor to follow the flow of your logic Also you can change when the unlock or correct variable is called to follow your flow

make sure when you start your level in the level blueprint you get your player controller and set input mode to game only....your char should be able to move...if not check class settings and make sure your game mode override is set correctly using your character blueprint....Also make sure your state tree and animation blueprint is set up correctly

Wow! Thanks a lot! This is great! You have a real casual teaching style that's a nice change of pace. Question: How do you put a clamp/timer, or something so the character can only dash a set distance? If I press TAB and hold it, the character can dash indefinitely. I don't want the player to be able to do that . . . Any suggestions?

@@siqwui make sure the collision is set to block all and also in the advanced section of the collision you can click CCD on

for anyone viewing this, this happens to me whenever i mirror. doesnt matter if i flip normals or recalc outside it stays hella dark. If the video did not work (which it should. but options are nice) try below just mirror it again (edit: on some arbitrary axis, not the one you need it mirrored on/just mirrored) and rotate it manually back to wherever you need it to face

tq4this! & i've found simpler method just within ue5,...... 1st is to convert those meshes or combined mesh into static mesh >>> then acrivate modelling mode : >>> then just multiple tris select all the dark meshes areas >>> then separate them >>> then attribute them click normal its done! >>> then just merge them back, it works with no matter how huge your mash is, even with combined meshes
