You can receive the Friendly Aranara Carving by completing the Star-Pickers' Passage story quest. The story quest which Yomiya visits Sumeru.

My dear, it doesn't matter where they start. Just follow these steps 1)take the small gear out and install it into the lower left socket. 2)run the machine until the small gear points to lower left. 3)remove the smaller gear and install it at any other socket. 4)let the machine runs again, but this time pay attention to the bigger gear, until it points to upper right. 5)remove the smaller gear again and insert it back to lower left. 6)make the machine runs until both pointers of the gears overlapped each other.

That's the fun of it.😁

Try to go into any doors you are able to enter, make sure you clear all the puzzle, quest and chest inside and try again.

It was just sitting there. There was no puzzle to solve nor enemy to fight.

Just finished it by randomly swaping them, the big ones pointing towards the chestroom and the small one opiside of the mashine where you run it

@@Candle___Covee My dear, please follow exactly according to my instruction, not randomly. You have to make them turn towards each other, not just inserting the smaller clock hand.

I suspect you haven't completed a certain world quest, or you may have gone to a wrong location.
