How to make a wine kit!! Vineco Sangiovese
Thank god for this review. I've googled this like 20 times and almost no one can give you a straight answer on forums. This is exactly what I needed.
Can you do something to remove the annoying music please
Great video- where do get the labels made?
Made them on computer - used B&W printer
Thanks. Very helpful
When adding Potassium Metabisulphite to the red must is it 5 Gallons of juice and musk? How long do you wait until adding the culture east afterwards? A few hours? Thank you.
The must is the combination of both juice and skins. Calculate the amount of Potassium Metabisulphite to add based on the volume of must that you have. We usually wait 2 hours before pitching yeast. Supposedly the Kmeta binds quickly, but in case we haven't calculated correctly, we wait.
@@SHredWorld thank you.
I have no idea why you choose to play music. And at that disgusting and annoying music
Do you do any pasteurization? After bottling?
Nothing after bottling. Hope that small amount of K-Meta, small air space, and good cork are enough to keep wine until ready to drink.
Thank you, very helpful and music is quite good. No unnecessary rambling !!
First time ever for a POSITIVE music comment! Glad you found it useful.
Still getting out on the StumpJumper?
Yep! Until cold weather.
I've never tried a open fermentation like this. I always use buckets with airlocks or glass fermenters.
Open top works well for fermenting red wine grapes. Not sure if it would work well in making mead.
Great information, when do you put your must through malpractice fermentation
Malolactic
Would do malolactic (bacterial fermentation) after yeast fermentation is complete.
Please lose the music. It takes away from the lecture. It is overwhelming, loud and distracting. Totally not needed
I just set my can up in a remote location that takes many hours to get too. It is not sending check in photos yet after 30 hrs of operation. It took photos during the initial set up testing, Then when departing for home. These were received after getting a decent cell signal on the phone a mile away or so. The Cam is picking up 2 bars, as it has a much better cell signal than what a phone can do due to the sizable antenna on the cam. Any ideas why my cam is not sending check in photos? Its a bit frustrating.
Great video, very informative. Question: how many 36lb cases fit inside that fermentation tub, and how many liters is the tub? Thank you.
Tub is 110 Liters , about 28 Gallons. Depending on grape type, figure 2-2.5 gallons of must from each 36 lb. of grapes.
@@SHredWorld Thanks for the reply. Ended up buying a tub the same size and am currently fermenting 4 cases of Merlot. Fits perfectly. Thanks again.
Thank you, this was sooo helpful!
You're so welcome!
My normal route is I go out the way you came back. Then when you get to the top of you RRR part I keep going straight to the State Hill boat ramp. Go a little farther to the top of what we called the rail road tile hill and turn around and head back. Then at top of your RRR I turn left and head back the way you started. I tried the going back the flow trail for first time the last time was there. I couldn't believe how long that was. I almost didn't make it back before sundown.
Those railroad ties (difficult going up) have been replaced with new section of trail with s curves (also difficult going up). I've ridden tulpy in both directions; seems harder to me going from spillway parking to large berm. And there are signs there now to mark the trail.
@@SHredWorld. Yeah I think I only ever made it up the rail road tile hill once. I always made it to one big shale rock and it was just too steep and would lose traction on the rock. My other kind of loop is closer to Bernville. Park at the Church road parking lot off of 183, head to the old ski resort along 183, cross the bridge at bernville robby road and head up the hill then come down the switch back. Eventually you come back out on church road.
th-cam.com/video/YvbosZJH99s/w-d-xo.html (Shameless self-promotion!)
@@SHredWorld. Yeah I do that one only once a year cause of hills. I probably was on it around the same time you were on it because I remember all the downed trees. I almost killed my myself on that trip. I go the opposite direction. When I go to the bottom of the switch back and I crossed the wooden bridge for some reason I kept slightly turning left and for some reason couldn't correct myself. Then right before making it fully across I nosedive off the other side. I somehow luckily put my head down and my helmet absorbs most of the damage. On top of that I got off to kind of a late start and got a little lost on way back. It was pretty dark before the downhill going back on Church rd and I could barely see all those downed trees. Hahaha!
Nice video can you share your Instagram link
If you put the syrup in hot, would that kill the yeast? Couldn't you do that instead to stop fermentation?
For me, that adds too many variables. If you decide to stop fermentation so that the wine is sweet, adding hot syrup would make it sweeter. If the temperature of the syrup didn't raise the wine temperature enough to kill the yeast, the yeast will act on the sugar in the syrup and continue fermentation.
I know this is old but this is the instruction I found. "The advantages of a kit like this are that it is inexpensive, quick, and easy. It is reasonably accurate for home winemaking as long as you can see the endpoint well. That is more difficult in red wine or dark must. To lighten a dark sample, you can dilute it 2:1 with distilled water prior to measuring your 10 mL portion, then multiply the answer by 2 to get your final result." You diluted by a factor of 20. Was that considered in you calculations?
Not considered at all. Measure the wine sample first, then dilute if needed. (Cannot dilute first, then measure out 15cc of diluted solution.) 15 cc of wine before diluting is the critical number. It doesn't matter how much distilled water is added to dilute the wine. I only mentioned how much I added as a guide to how much it may take to dilute a dark color. The final result is determined by how much Sodium Hydroxide was needed to neutralize. Each 1 cc needed = .1% acid
the music was too loud.
Noted. I've heard this about other videos also; it may have something to do with browser type, ISP, etc., or maybe is just too loud.
How often should I rack ? Thanks
Should you purge the bottles with inert gas before bottling or is it okay without?
May I record video or take pictures whenever I want without the camera triggers it when it detects moves.
possible via the app depending on your data plan and settings
They've extended it and the paved trail now ends 3 miles beyond Bainbridge at the Falmouth boat landing. That section through Marietta now has it's own paved trail after the Musselman museum house and along Front St. that ends at that brick house where you turned left at Bank St. This trail is 28 miles out and back now. If you go on a nice saturday or sunday afternoon it will be more crowded with casual users.
Sounds great! Thanks for the update.
@@SHredWorld Another FYI, instead of parking at the Trail Center you can park under the old bridge and then you only have to cross the street once. Plus, your car's in the shade!
What water would you use in the tube for sucking and siphoning. Steriliser water or just tap water. Maybe sugar water? Thanks
I know I'm supposed to say sterilized or sanitized or distilled, but actually have just used tap water. Don"t know about sugar water.
Thanks
Welcome! Assume you found Hidden#3?
Thank you so much ❤🎉
You’re welcome! Hiope it washelpful.
Make sure there is some space between the grapes and net I have seen net with hundreds of birds clinging to the outside eat the grapes inside
Good advice! we've been lucky with the birds - it was the racoons that bested us.
I put bottles in a pan on a stove 180 Degrees or so add some Oxyclean wait for a about 15 minutes and the labels float off.
Tires are tubeless ready. Rim strips are tubeless also. Easy setup . Just buy the stems and add the juice.
Good thing to know, thanks!!
How about Sodium Benzoate?
can use as a stabilizer. some discussion about it causing benzene to be produced.
Thank you please
Would plastic bottle be an alternative when glass bottles are not available ?
as I understand it, plastic OK if you are planning on short term storage (6 months or less). anything longer, plastic too permeable, should use glass.
Hello if I don't want cellular fee or an account Can, I still download photos to my phone and Live videos?
It will still record WITHOUT a cell plan, but you must retrieve media card and attach to a viewer to view/download files.
Is there a way to use a Tactacam on UK cellular. Thank you for a very clear explanation.
I talked to Michael at Tactacam customer support. According to him, if you buy a unit in the UK it should have an appropriate sim card with it that you can activate. USA phone number: (218) 282-5650 0r support@tactacam.com
Thank you for your assistance. I will contact support.
The documentation for this camera leaves a lot to be desired.
company does have good support. (218) 282-5650 or support@tactacam.com
@@SHredWorld I agree they do have good support.
Enjoyable Video. Nice detail of what goes into the vineyard all year round.
Glad you enjoyed it
Awesome! I used Concentrated Sevin to knock down my spotted lantern fly nymphs. Worked with no problem. My grapes (Marquette and Swenson White) are in year two. Thank you for putting out these videos. I’m learning a ton and they help me managing my wine and, now, backyard vineyard.
Hello, did you disinfect it with potassium metabisulfate to seal the cork?

Great comparison video! Straight to the point and informative! Thanks for the good work
You're welcome! Glad to be of help.
It would be sick to sit at that patio in the morning and send a FPV quad up to the mountain range
How is the drone flying there?
Usually not allowed in national parks and other federally managed land
Do any shredding down the vegas strip?
How do you dry the inside the tubing, pump and automatic bottle-filling device before storing?
Good description of how to ride the State Hill loop! Thanks!
As someone who lives mountain climbing and lives in Minnesota is such a pain that I have to go multiple states over to reach the Rockies. I gotta move to the west someday.
A friend of mine just handed me this camera he had, but he had no instruction on how to use this trail cam. Can it still be used as just a stand alone trail cam without the cell plan. Will it still take pics that I can view later
Yes, can use as stand alone. Just don’t sign up for data plan. It will record, but you will need to retrieve it or download files to see what it recorded.
Man, i live about a Quarter mile from the RP up the road you went left on.
Fortunate!
Very informative thanks. I hope to get down there soon 👏👍
You should! enjoy!
If I’m going with creature comfort i gotta go helmet camera. See you out on those Blue Marsh flow trails 👍👍🇺🇸
Helmet cam good. see you out there!
