I think Baz was holding back so as not to embarrass Jon. He has a freakishly powerful voice. There is a recent video on YT of him singing with Axl Rose who is closer to his equal.

Sebastian Bach overall is better. If you pay attention to his singing during those years, and even overall in his career, he sings even his highest notes in his mixed/full voice, even the middle and upper 5-th octave notes(notes that Jon would need falsetto to reach); not only that but he also adds a lot of distortion. That is insanely hard to do without fucking your voice really fast and it proves how skilled Sebastian is since he still has a great deal of power in his voice, even after all the intense singing and drinking/drugs he's done. Bon Jovi used to be good himself during his earlier years but he's always had problems past C5 and was/is often shouty, and while his falsetto might reach higher notes than Sebastian's modal voice(big surprise there), he doesn't have that much control of it - which shows in his voice today. Keep in mind that I'm not bashing Jon at all, I actually like him as an artist/singer. Overall they also have way different appeals. Sebastian is the rebellious rocker with a real metal/hard rock attitude, and Bon Jovi is the more romantic and enticing story teller.

i hate when people say bad things about jons voice . i dont like sebastian but i can say his voice is awesome and i can say (as a bon jovi fan and watched all the concerts in internet) jon is way better he reached the g6 note . Did sebastian ever reached that note? So they both have great voice (i watched skid rows performances too) but jon reached higher notes he cant reach now but he did.(sorry for my bad English)

I'm a fan of both bands, but sebastian voice is far better than jon, really, Sebastian has one of the greatest voices in heavy metal history!!!

can treally compare, they are two different levels. sure, bon jovi reached more people but that was because he played the radio friendly pop/rock songs. Sebastian is a more talented vocalist though, i mean the guy did broadway a couple years ago and it was actual broadway music

thats because hes not 27 anymore,he is 49 nearly 50 so he cant reach the higher notes anymore, even bach doesent have the voice he had in the 80's, he also have a weaker voice today. .

the two of them is my favourite singer,, but who is the best.....?? well the ultimate goal of a singer is to touch people's heart... it doesnt mean who can hit the highest note..... in fact some of the best singer of all time can't hit those stratospheric notes..... in my opinion jon is better cause his singing affect way more people then sebastian......
