Sorry for the late reply. For my family, food is comparable between Ibero and Barcelo. Most reviewers prefer Iberostar, but we found both resorts fine. At Barcelo, we ate most of our ala carte dinners at the Palace side. We noticed it was higher tier than the other resorts on the grounds. You can tell by the bread (hard) and butter (like it just came out of the freezer).. I maybe exaggerating, but there's a difference. Eat most of your dinners at the Palace or try to get dinners at the AO if you don't have kids (or if they offer it). We went to the AO for a quick snac, and because we had the preferred wrist bands, they thought we were staying at the AO. The buffet food looked better at the AO when we went that one time. Also, we like the Barcelo Palace ala carte's because of the good ocean view.
