Hope you like it buddy, i failed about 7 times until this recording 😆 I feel like i need to learn to mix again because of stems. I need to reach a point where i blend EQs and Stems because currently i either use one or the other, not both 😆But first opinion: love them.

@@djjustin44 I think that in future updates, they will add functionality to the 4 pads that are not used in stems mode, something like in Serato DJ, where the pads below have the same functions, but with an effect applied, such as echo.

Heard that stems are now available on engine dj. I used stems a little with rekordbox, I find it an awesome feature especially if you are mixing many songs at the same time. Or if you don't mix in key. I recently just added lights to my setup, connecting them with lighting engine. Stems are the next thing i want to play with. Will deff get that subscription and try stems soon.

@@djjustin44 Also, the subscription is a one-time payment of $9.99€, and it is linked to your Engine DJ account, not to the machine. If you log in with your username, it asks you to restart and adds the Stems function, but if you log out, when you restart the machine, the functions are lost. That's fine, because if you change your device to another one that works with Engine DJ, you can continue using Stems, without having to pay again. Stems are great for adding, for example, the vocals of a track over two other instrumental tracks that you have playing simultaneously, avoiding having too many instrumental sounds at once.

@@djjustin44 Yes, and the upgrade is linked to your Engine DJ account, so if you change equipment, you don't have to pay again, it is unlinked from your current machine, and you link it to the new machine. When you mix several tracks simultaneously it is great, since you can put a vocal track on top of two instrumental tracks, and it also allows you to change the key of the stems in real time, or apply effects to them.

@@snako79 The subscription type it's really nice. Paying once and not monthly these days it's a lot to appreciate. Can't wait to try them, it will probably change the way i mix, i expect it to even sound different in the future because of it.

@@djjustin44 Yes, the truth is that unlike rekordbox, or even serato dj if you don't have a pro license, which make you pay monthly fees, engine DJ is doing well. There are those who are annoyed at having had free samplers and touch effects, and now having to pay for stems, but it seems like a very reasonable price, taking into account that it is not linked to the machine, but to your user. When you have made the payment, and you log in to the machine, it asks you to restart and when you restart you already have the function active, if you log out, it remains active, but when you restart the machine it loses the function until you log back in as your user. The only bad thing, to put it in some way, is that the machine does not analyze the stems, you have to do it from the PC with the engine dj desktop version, but it is really better, you analyze tracks faster, and you prepare the stems faster, and with better quality.

yes, you can. you can plug in an usb or a sd card. i advise you to buy fast usb/sd card else you will find some issues when trying to record.

@@keyboardpatriot it has 4 color fx'es and 20-30 fx'es on dedicated fx channel. you can add different speakers by rca or xlr

hello there. this controller had and still has some software bugs. some of them were fixed in the previous firmware updates, some of them are not really affecting my experience when djing. i had no critical issue with this controller.

i honestly never used engine dj on my mac so far. i use rekordbox, it has compatibility with my SC Live 4. what are you trying to do? connect the controller to the desktop so you can play the songs from there?

dig for your music brother. try shazam, look for the title in the video(it's 4k), you can ask me for the title of a song. i dig a lot of time to find music, don't just expect titles to come to you.

Hello there. This is a great unit, especially for its price and features. But I'll tell you about the issues i found: - in the begining i tried using 2.0 USBs and microSD cards. The time you would wait for the songs to be fetched after turning on the controller was high. But i did mix once in a club for about 4 hours with a microSD and i made it to the end with no issues. The real problem comes if you want to record and save it on that 2.0 USB or microSD card. I got many many crashes and lost the recording in the past. I realised after is because of the speed of the drive. I started using a microSD HC card, which is newer and faster. Songs loads pretty fast now and i got no crashes at my recordings since then. So I guess this unit kinda requires USB 3.0, SD HC or something fast, especially if you have a big songs library or if you record. - the only bug really bothering me. Sometimes i pick a song, and it's not the one i want so i press back hoping i'll get back from where i loaded the song, but it scrolls to the top of the folder. So i need to scroll down to where i was again. But as you can scroll with finger swipe you kinda get back to the right spot fast. - sometimes the displays from the jogs are not animated completely. so you need to restart the controller. this usually happens right after turning it on. so you just restart and resolve the issue, not a big deal. - i like more the echo and reverb from pioneer. idk why - some stacks glitches(not affecting the sound tho)

@@djjustin44 The issue with USB and microSD cards must be as you say, I use a USB 3.0 pendrive, a Samsung Evo Pro microSD, and an external M.2 hard drive and I have no problems. As for going back and going to the folders, there must be something wrong, when I press the back button or the view button I go back to the music selection screen and it is right where I left it, I don't have to go back to look for where the track was.

@@snako79 thx for the info. i'll try look more into the back problem. it kinda happens to me for about 1/10 or 1/5 times. i don't know the root but i've seen it in the videos i post here too. and it happend to me since the first days, i already got used to it lol.

As long as you have the songs as files and you are not using a streaming service(like Tidal) you can press record from the main menu and it will save it on the usb/sd card you're using to import your music. I don't know how to capture the video, if you mean the screen. As you can see, i am filming with a phone and a stand. I then sync the video from the iphone with the audio from the controller in Premiere Pro and export it as one.
