Thanks for sharing this info. It was very helpful, despite not being able to find the switch as you say "On your drivers-side". This is because we are in the UK and our 'drivers-side' is the right side (when sitting in car) and in our case the switch is on the passenger-side. Not your fault, just took me a while to figure it out when I couldn't find the sodden thing when squeezed under the car! Nevertheless, I got there in the end and your info helped lots.

Why did you need to remove the radiator core support? Was it damaged and if so how and was it repairable? I have a Z3 with a wrinkle in my "core support" right where the plastic radiator clamps to it. I thought yours had a crinkle in it as well, but, sure.
