@@kevinmoseley1039 It is a good movie. I was reprimanded for liking it by a Hollywood executive. She said it was sexist, and that Clooney was a criminal. None of that, even if true, changes that I still think it's a good movie. I don't really feel guilty, but The American is a movie a generally keep to myself as a precaution. I should have put guilty between quotations marks.
Alright, so I get they have to use subsonic ammo since quietness is the most important factor apparently. But what are they, professional insect killers? Because 5.56 with a muzzle velocity of 360 mph isn't killing shit lmao. They might as well throw the bullet themselves.
It is ridiculously slow with very low energy dump compared to other guns. Doing some calculation and reading, a 528 fps muzzle velocity at 50 yards with a 223 can be as heavy as 77 grains and as fast as 370 fps with 60 ftlbs.. 5 times the requirement for a small fox kill... That is enough to penetrate skin and break a rib or.. penetrate the heart with a precise shot.. if he is wearing a shirt. If the person is wearing a jacket.. that brings the effective velocity I'm totally guessing.. down to 200 fps which will lodge right under your tissue.. with luck lol.
Yeah...I like Thelka Routlege more....I don't even get her name right anytime.....🙂
Thekla Rueten......🙂
💚
Wow, she's an icy beauty.
I love that the whole movie feels like a lands end ad. I fucking love this flick
I see we have a bunch of gun experts in the peanut gallery. It's a movie folks, you dont have to over analysize things.
But they are such silly mistakes.
I thought the hunter and the American where the same movie
WHAT SHE SAID... HE HAD DONE EXACTLY IN THE SAME WAY.... NO TIME WASTED.... GREAT ONE....
THIS SCENE IS SO REALISTIC.....
3 IN A ROW... THAT'S PERFECT.....
Calls the mini 14 an M14. Lol. Still a dope movie
also notice she makes the number of the suitcase zero 14.
Honestly, how hard would it have been for someone involved in this movie to Google the speed of a rifle bullet?
360 miles an hour slowest bullet ever!!! 😂😂😂😂
Love this film, great scenery
... perhaps the movie has several flaws but if a small bit of it is appealing, read the book - it is superb from a brilliant author, Martin Booth !!!
This movie is so unrealistic. Guilty pleasure, I guess?
No. Fuck the concept of "guilty pleasures". No one should feel apologetic about their taste.
Sounds like a toy, not a real gun.
That looks like a Ruger ac556, not a m14
Should it have been a mini 14?
these parts would remind me of a school shooter
This film is one of my few guilty pleasures.
Guilty as served!
Why is it a guilty pleasure it’s a good movie. I own it on blu-ray

"Muzzle velocity?" "Around 360 mph." A liiiittle off there Jack.
They adjusted the load to have subsonic speed so 360 isnt unreasonable. I could be wrong.

Usually for muzzle velocity its feet per second.
I love this scene! Also the gunsmithing scenes
