Toyota is eaying what me and millions of intelligent people have been saying for years. Electric vehicles cost more, do more damage and last a shorter period of time. Electric vehicles aren't new, infact they are older than internal combustion cars. Several of the earliest cars were electric and we went with the better, cheaper, more productive, higher efficiency, reliable Internal combustion for a reason.

This is mostly true due to the fact that car batteries are made of a variety of materials far more complex to mine than drilling for oil and far more complex to create than refining oil. Not to mention the lifetime of the batteries atm isn't great... I'm not an oil bro but the idea that electric vehicles as they are currently engineered are the solution to our problems only works if you are analyzing their footprint after they roll off the assembly line.
