SoundOkapi is a Danish sound artist known for his distinct blend of minimal music, ambient, micro house, noise, and experimental genres.
Synths, augmented by guitar pedals and loopers, are central to his eclectic sound, which also includes his own vocals. Collaborating with other sound artists like Hanne Raffnsøe and Berlin-based trio Pausa a Pausa, SoundOkapi has performed in Danish churches, festivals, and Berlin venues.
Trained originally as a classical organist, he transitioned to experimental electronic music, exploring improvisation and innovative techniques, marking a new chapter in his musical journey.

The Wing Pinger - "a highly chaotic instrument," as the inventor Meng Qi writes in the manual. In this video, I try to control the chaos a bit and succeed to a certain extent 😅. All sounds come from the Wing Pinger, with only a little reverb added from the Soma Cosmos. A lot of my work these days is focused on the Soma Cosmos, getting aquainted with its rhythmic firmware. In this video I experiment with algorithm 7 with a short feedback (about 0.4), which makes s kind of echo effect to a sad song on the Soma Terra - soundokapi.dk

Been thinking of getting one of these. Your video has convinced me. Lovely performance, with evocative sounds. The drum buttons really make it. Being a keyboard player myself, I can relate to the button spacing issue. I have had a conventional version, for many years now, and I do get used to it, the more I play (of course ;-) Thanks for sharing, and best wishes for your continued success/fun with music 🎶🌎☮❤
