Grand merci pour le partage ! Aucun commentaire !

this is why I love Steve Perry, he is authentic, he is articulate, he is sensitive, he is grounded, he is quality, and he doesn't mince words; also, he makes mistakes just like any other bandmate, just like any other human, he also showed remorse for those mistakes; what was done toward him, that's not love, in his time of need, his bandmates showed their true colors, ultimately confirming his innermost thoughts of him never fully being embraced... yet he had kept the faith, he had kept pouring in, and pouring in, he kept baring his soul unlike any other, he kept busting his chops unlike any other, in devotion and loyalty to his fellow bandmates, and to their fan base, being pushed like a mule, not wanting to let any of them down (they say a divorce usually happens months or years before the actual divorce, painfully pushing through, despite his inner instincts) they said he was running things, yes, bc it happened that way organically, but never bc he was a tyrant, like they make him out to be; after all was said and done, I believe he had to walk away for his own integrity... kudos to Steve, for the level of humility it took (and stamina, and class) to keep pouring in, and working like mule, when there was no sense of camaraderie, he states no one was even "talking," sharing, loving, caring, connecting; in order to come through, he did his duty, he was tough as nails, yet sensitive, simultaneously, when he, himself IS the working, viable instrument; how convenient to blame Steve for everything, when everyone else gets to lay down their instruments and let them rest, and/or even literally replace their instrument(s), physical instruments can get repaired and/or upgraded in an instant, roadie techs set up and fine tune the band members' instruments, having them ready for them on stage, no one can leave Steve's voice ready and on the stage for him to conveniently pick up and use; to Steve's critics, you try it..... also, we have enough cold, cynical, insensitive people out in the world, Steve Perry is exactly what people were longing for, experiencing his distinctive voice of love AND joy, authenticity, quality, stress relief/chance to decompress; yes, together, they were an amazing band, we need each other despite our differences, but the multitudes were drawn to Mr. Perry's distinctive voice that pierced straight through to the heart, when his voice was touching the heavens; people were coming in droves, to experience the sheer sense of joy and love, authenticity and sensuality that was anchored in so many songs, but especially by the song Faithfully (thank you first and foremost, Jonathan Cain, and o.c. Neal Schon, Steve Smith, Ross Valory) no concert was complete without it... the question is, is what he did forgivable, and at least he tried to sincerely make amends, p.s. also, if anything, they should be grateful that Steve saved everyone so much money, he did not require extensive expensive instruments/equipment, he was not flashy, he kept things simple, he did not squander blessings, if anything, he saved everyone a ton of money AND a ton of time, in and out of studio/concerts/traveling, etc, in addition to protecting the integrity of the brand; there was absolutely nothing wrong with him taking a couple of years to grieve and heal (physically/mentally/spiritually) after he didn't get adequate time to grieve and heal initially, and still toured... how shocking they didn't give him the same grace that he would have surely given them, had they been in similar circumstances; it takes humility and discipline and sacrifice to collaborate, and do what they did, I'm not saying they didn't get any enjoyment out of it, of course they did, anyway, it is understood they are all creative genuises, they all brought something valuable to the table, but in all fairness, in keeping perspective, he worked like mule, and deserved a couple years to heal and grieve, Steve Perry is worth every penny and so much more, a priceless treasure, they are all worthy, never shun love

Let’s see : On the first album, Mick had four solo compositions. He co-wrote five with Lou (lyrics) and one with Al Greenwood Double Vision was Mick wrote four on his own. Lou wrote the lyrics to four songs with Mick and one with Ian McDonald. The instrumental was Jones, Greenwood and McDonald. Head Games was Mick and Lou on four tracks, Mick solo on four, Lou and Ian on one and Lou and Al on another. Foreigner 4 was six collaborations from Lou and Mick, four solo Jones songs. Agent Provocateur was the wheels coming off

Steve Perry's magnificent voice is an instrument lent to him by the angels in heaven. He's the best to ever do it. Taking Steve Perry out of Journey, and replacing him with another singer is like taking Mick Jagger out of the Rolling Stones, plugging in some other guy, and still calling the band the Rolling Stones. It's an utter embarrassment.

A ton of bands break up or musicians leave a band due to so many egos in one place and everything just combusts. It's a lot like a marriage and it isn't easy. A marriage is 2 people and a bands more than that. I'm sure there were a lot of other " head games" going on here besides their egos. We're just lucky we got to see them in their prime. I love Steve Perry but I'm disappointed in him saying that he never felt part of the band. For s bit it looks like he was running things and fired a couple of guys. We're all only human and shit happens. Just have to celebrate the good times

Like any marriage, in the beginnings, the times are fun. But as a few years passed, the realities of money, fame, and hit albums and singles began to erode the band. Mick was the leader, and head song writer and knew that even years later, these songs would still payoff. The question became, why pay these other guys a share of the profits? So, you start to fire people. Think of it as a guy being married, then suddenly he wins the jackpot and is worth millions. Hot chicks, strippers, porn stars, all want to suddenly know and be with him, and he kinda loses his mind. And the wife? ehhhh little past the due date

Pink Floyd with A Momentary Lapse of Reason and the song The Dogs of War which most Roger Waters fans and most Pink Floyd fans hate with a passion. Roger Waters stayed true to himself with concept albums and The Final Cut, The Pros and Cons sound timeless musically and Radio KAOS is 1980s. Roger fans to this day call for David Gilmour’s head on a silver platter. Rush lost fans with Big Money on Power Windows. Genesis went pop and Phil Collins was to blame.

Lou’s fame belies his genuineness. One would never confuse the man with some overblown, self-important rock star snob. Having had the honor of briefly making his acquaintance I was struck by how he seemed to be an Everyman despite his having become immortalized in song. He’s a genuine rocker. He loves his muscle cars and the manner in which he was treated by some of his own people is a disgrace and an affront to humanity. God bless Lou.

Thank you very much for posting this documentary -- Foreigner fan from the very first (1977 was my freshman year of high school), and saw the tour for Double Vision, which was Foreigner in their prime (the original six guys). There's a not-so-odd parallel with The Who -- it's really "the guitarist's band" BUT it doesn't all come together without an incredible Rock vocalist (Daltrey in The Who, Gramm in Foreigner). Standing ovation for Foreigner finally being inducted into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame --- just hope Lou and Mick don't kill one another on stage at the induction LOL!

Lou Gramm has one of the greatest front man voices in music 🎶. When you hear his voice, he has a lot in common with Phil Collins, Steve Perry, and Michael McDonald. Those voices are legendary, and the respective groups they played in would've never had the success they had without them.

This was 26 years ago and Sammy was awesome. I noticed the 🎸 guitar player to the right, his last name is Johnson I think. In recent years he played in Sammy’s band with Michael Anthony, Jason Bonham No offense he’s the African American dude and a remarkable guitarist. He’s not participating in the Van Halen re-Union tour. They picked up Joe S. For the duties of filling in for the late Eddie Van Halen RIP.
