There’s lots of meaning in facial expression and body language. Gen Z understands this, but still prefers to watch the bottom half 😅
i'm aethiest. i agree, ULTIMATELY nothiong matters, but do you really wanna waste ur time here being a bad person? you shouldn't need to be motivated by eternal suffering just to be a good person, if you need it, you're just a bad person
✝️
Could you not put the bottom half? I don’t wanna see a guy washing a carpet when I’m listening to God’s word
I doubt he has any atheist friends.
If you could fly, that would make you a bird, not superman.
I think this goes directly against the bible: "Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve it."
And females argue theyre smarter
Hey Guys. Feel free to comment your thoughts on this discussion and let me know what kind of content you’d like to see in the future!
what's his point?
The conclusion is correct, his opinion on it is not intellectually consistent.
This account is a pile BS
so you do good deeds out of fear of eternity and hell? that's dumb
I love this argument because it's literally just saying that the only thing stopping Christians from becoming horrible people IS the Bible, like, dawg do you not know what emotion is??? Empathy???? The Golden f***kin Rule?????
Dude really posted this dollar store ben shapiro getting cooked and was like "amirite, guys? Isn't this based and redpilled?😅"
If you have 10 Nazis at a table with you having dinner you actually have 11 Nazis
What's the point of all this it just a bunch of nothingness spewed out making it seem smart
This guy had NO ARGUMENTS
FR it was genuinely painful watching this man trying to scrounge up an argument while trying to keep the Ben Shapiro "I'm better than you" act😂
By default rainbow gang doesn't either
@@madhammer232 "rainbow gang" Do your homework
How can an adult not understand what every kid knows: Male is the adjective to man and female is the adjective to woman. Both describe sex
A good way of coming out as utterly selfish. You do good for the ones you help, not for yourself. He shows his own hypocrisy in a very clear way.
I'm sorry if this sounds rude, but seeing meaning in our actions only because of Judgment Day, stating that one's actions are meaningless without Heaven and Hell, is just egotistical and wrong. Our actions have meaning because they have consequences that may last much longer than us. Because those consequences may impact many other people in good or bad ways. Attempting to be a good person, is to try our best in our life to do things and make choices that may lead to the best consequences, for us, for the the world, for the people around us, and for those who will carry on after our time. I'm guessing that this short doesn't faithfully represents the whole point of this sir, so I'm nobody to judge him on that. But to title this short "he makes a GREAT point"? Hope the comment section will help you think a bit deeper...
I dont get it. Being a decent human should be the only thing that matters, what happens after death doesn't change that. This argument doesnt much sense. Just because you go into the fertilizer pit doesn't mean you can get away with being a bad person 😅. You can do anything you want with the same outcome at death, yes.
Good for him that he strawman the agnostic. He probably never even meet one.
You don't need a deity to be a good person. Life isn't meaningless because it will end. Nature gives you the goal of making the world a better place for your offspring, thats what its always been about.
Atheism is not a belief
The choices you make now i think are more important because of this. The decisions you make matter not because of some after life, but because they affect people around you and future generations.
If youre motivated by judgement day mother teresa is not a good example seeing as she thought pain medications were unnecessary for the sick
0 sense this guy
If a religious person commits acts of good under the basis that they fear damnation and only commit those acts for the belief of being rewarded with "heaven." They aren't righteous. They are selfish. If a non-religious person commits the same acts on the grounds of being a good person with good morals and its simply the right thing to do for their fellow man, they are far more righteous than the virtue signaler. But both will be damned if this judgment is real because one is not done for the name of God and God is not present in the life of the other? Sounds unjust to me.
Every human refrains from doing something because they will be punished for it. Some people don't do bad things because they know it's wrong, because God said so and he gave us consciences so that we know what is wrong. But, there are also many humans who don't do bad things because God gave them a conscience, as well as there are serious consequences for doing that bad thing. Such as prison or hell.
What the fuck is he talking about you do not, in fact have to acknowledge that
he's just saying words
Bro if you rely on a day of judgement and heaven to make you have good morals then you don’t have good morals that’s the equivalent of being “nice” to someone not cuz of friendship but for your on gain.
Lol, he hit the nail on the head. Religion exists because people want to feel important . . .
People ARE important, though I'm not sure how you get that from this clip
This generation is a joke
And that girl is stupid
IKR Boomers are dumb
Egocentric, Self important ignoramous who knows only of Juedeo-Christian-Islamic religions. Try Buddhism or Taoism.
Doing good deeds just to get to heaven is awful, do good deeds because they make the world around you and yourself better
That's not what he's saying. He's saying that there's no point in doing good if there are no consequences for doing bad.
@@emma_luce_0623 I do disagree with him on that, I think we naturally want to do good and are good. No hate to any religion though, I think those who strengthen their kindness in scripture are doing great. Just saying that if your only motivation to do good is heaven than its problematic as helping others feels good
Life is what you make of it, I have no desire to hate and I just have a natural desire to love. Can’t explain it but I do. I also don’t rule out the idea of a heaven or a hell. I just don’t let it control my life
I mean, that's not really a great point, I'd even say it's a meaningless point of view
BULLSHIT !!
I choose to be a good person because it’s the right thing to do. Being kind makes the world a better place. My actions affect those around me, right now. And when I die my body will go back to the Earth the energy in my cells will be transferred to plants and animals, which is not inherently good or bad. It just is. That happens to everyone no matter what they do with their lives.
And WHY is it the right thing to do? If there is no God then there is no right and wrong. There would be no dignity assigned to us by God. There would be NO reason to be kind to people or be moral. There's no reason why we should care about "right and wrong" if God doesn't exist to dictate what is right and wrong because we are created in His image. Morals come from God, nature has no right and wrong without God.
The most basic morality that you can achieve without a higher power is, man is equal to another man, but that's easily broken by one man being stronger. This man is not saying that people are good because there's a punishment for being bad, he's saying there's a reward for being good, and that being bad results in the punishment of your world having no morals to structure it. Animals don't stop eating cause their prey was born with the right to life, they stop eating cause they're not hungry anymore. Humans are wild animals without morals, and there are no morals without a higher power to equalize us all. Even with the influence of Christianity, it took 1700 years for someone to build a nation based on the citizen's rights, and that's only cause Britain screwed up and offered land to whomever could defend it from the French. All of you claiming that you don't have to be religious to be moral, you're half right, because without religion, there would have never been any standard of morality.
I hope there are distracting tiktok videos in Heaven
having no after life gives more meaning to your current life because nothing comes after. in fact, your life becomes meaningless when you consider there is an infinite, never ending after life
That's just not true. Your life actually matters when you realize that your soul will live on and your choices will affect your fate. You get to choose whether you do good and are kind, and recognize the dignity God gave us and go to Heaven to be eternally happy; or whether you choose to be bad or unkind and think we have no dignity, which gives you the authority to do anything you want and laws should be abolished because they're then pointless, and this go to hell because you chose to stay away from God
@@emma_luce_0623Wrong. According to the Bible you don’t even need to be a good person to go to heaven since we are all sinners. All you need to do is repent and ask for forgiveness before you go and boom, you get into heaven. So you can be a HORRIBLE person and go to heaven as long as you repent before you die and accept Jesus as your lord and savior. Being Christian doesn’t actually make you a good person. You can actually be the worst person on earth and in your last moments just say “oopsis I’m sorry”
My actions will matter because they will affect those still around when i am gone.
I admire an atheist that does good deeds, far more than someone who is only good because they're expecting to go to heaven.
first of all - NO, agnostics dont think there is no heaven, agnostics don’t claim that there is or is no heaven or hell, coz there is no way to prove it. atheists claim that. second: it is a primitive concept to do things as “god wills”, every person should develop basic moral code they follow, because they believe in it, not because god said so, and “he wont get to good ending if he doesn’t follow said directions”. This way of thinking gave high ranking priests and “officials” AKA “voice of god” a way to dictate what is right and wrong. Some priests, for example, use religion to justify a war and paint it as “righteous” literally TODAY.
The only reason why you think mistreating others is because of Christianity. Buddhism is a close second, but ultimately still finds life to be pointless as we will return to the endless cosmos without form or personality regardless of what we do, Muslims are the opposite saying that anyone who disrespects the Muslim faith, must ultimately be eliminated, and most other religions that don't fit in those three, rely on the strong or powerful dominating the weak, such as the Apache, the Aborigine to a degree, and scientologists. Morality is not natural, we didn't discover it in ourselves, and it's not even the guide for basic humanity worldwide today.
Delusional 🤦
Bros so close to realising the truth he can say it out loud but is too weak to accept it so lives in dilution instead.
Just because we believe there is no afterlife or next life or whatever doesn't mean what we do now is meaningless. Because the world doesn't end when we do. How we treat others, how we treat the world, now, affects them now, and in the future, even after we're gone.
What you personally do is still meaningless. There's no real point in doing any good if you don't have an eternal soul. And without God, there's no reason to be good to others. Without any dignity assigned to us by God there's no reason to be good or kind to others.
@@emma_luce_0623 That’s the most ridiculously wrong thing I’ve ever heard. You don’t need God to be good and kind to other people. As humans we can analyze logically what is good and moral behavior and what is appropriate and conducive to a good society. You don’t need a “god” to act appropriately and know what’s right and wrong.
I think you’re extrapolating your reasons to be good to not believers, as if they were the only ones. You can be a good person to get good results during life. There might be an afterlife, there might not. Ether way, there is a life before afterlife. So what Mother Teresa got was the feeling of accomplishment during life. Maybe something else after, maybe not. But it is not incoherent to not believe in an afterlife and still live a good (or not good) life
