That was a really great video! I like how you explained and demonstrated all those features. The Luna 1.8 update is impressive, especially how they’ve implemented those features. You can also drag the track presets from the browser window onto a track or next to a track and it will create that track or bus automatically. By the way, you mentioned Logic a few times. Which one do you prefer to record vocals, edit, and mix in, Luna or Logic?
I prefer Logic for midi production and tracking, and Luna for editing and mixing.
Track Presets are game changing. Love it. The new Browser is fantastic u can add folders too (right click new folder), lets hope they add a Sample Browser too.
I love the look of Luna , it's pretty, but for me , unless I can create orchestral midi music, with all the scale and chord tools availabe in cubase and Studio one and to a lesser extent Logic Pro, I cannot move over. I wonder if you can save 8 tracks loaded with plug in instruments , like a string section and save that as a preset like you can in S1. I am not sure that UA are focused on midi , Luna seems to shine when used for tracking and production . Otherwise I like the look and feel of Luna
I use it specifically for editing and mixing, but all of these comments about the production limitations have me intrigued. I’m going to attempt to produce a song just with Luna and see how it goes. Maybe it’ll be a video next year 🤔🤔🤔
What's the hype, is it literally because it's UA?
In my opinion it’s a great alternative to ProTools and it sounds amazing, especially if you are interested in emulating an analog console.
Until they make a real piano roll, I just can't use Luna
The current Pianoroll is just a place holder. They are cooking!
@ I mean, most people are doing mid production using a piano roll these days you’d think they’d spend more effort on that
@@MaximusWhyman yes they are working on a real midi editor. I heard they releasing Luna 2 next year.
I just started using Luna and I'm eager to learn this DAW! Thank you for all your videos, keep them coming, fam!
So, Luna is way like 20 years behind other DAWs? Lol
@@paulmisty8998 It’s still a very new DAW comparatively.
Being able to use real hardware like studio one
Turnable Update these should've came with it.. What we need is a better piano roll.
@@duimusic100 I haven’t done any midi work with it at all since I prefer Logic Pro for that. What’s the issue with the piano roll?
I'm hoping for custom shortcuts, clip fx and ARA2 support before moving to Luna.
I saw a video from a beta version with Custom Shortcuts. Its coming..
@iliravdyli4109 awesome.
Cant wait to be able to use this daw on windows. Unfortunately I still cant get it to run. Hopefully they fix that soon
really appreciate you making this vedio❤very helpful
Can i bounce a track with the mixer effects on it? Ie; reverb and delays
If they are through a send then no. You would need to solo what you want and bounce a stem. If you put the reverb or delays directly on the track you're bouncing in place then yes.
This tutorial is EVERYTHING!!! Thank you sir….you have a new subscriber. Looking forward to learning more from you. God bless!!
@@deebyrd8383 Glad this helped!
Good job on the video. I'm crazy excited about having the bounce feature as well. Can't wait for ARA2 integration and LUNA 2.
That would be great but imo I don't think a numbered release approach is the way to go. Keep it Luna, keep it updated and record. Putting numbers on things is just putting numbers on things. Just opens up more confusion for users.
One of the best plugins I've ever put in the toolkit, I adore it. So do my roommates, I usually record that stuff at like 4am to minimize background noise. If you listen close to one of my jams you can hear "simon shut the f up" heh
@@RaspberryMeatsicle Lol! Don’t let them bully you 👊🏾
You can really play those KEYZ bro smooth
@@norryellzy3455 Thank you!
appreciate the detail and real-world usage of the horns - I just got these horns, but haven't had a chance to get into them yet, so this was helpful in getting a sense of what they can do. Thanks Ed
I have this and the WA76 (I put it after, not in the insert - works well that way) - they are great for my home studio, I love them!
Can't believe no one has left a comment, I'm hearing this for the first time and it's OUTSTANDING! 🔥🔥🔥
Who not sitting hear for a hour to get inspired from someone that knows!🔥🔥🔥🔥
Love Keyscape... but those file sizes kill me...
I feel you. Those file sizes are crazy. I’m glad you can put them on an external drive.
Hi Ed, can you have something on Reaper as well?
Hi! Unfortunately I don’t have any experience with Reaper.
Great review of SHP! I'm getting an upgrade...for all the right reasons!
Thank you Ed!
Yes
Great work sir
Thank you!
Very nice
Excellent
Yes I am but need a tutorial on how to hook it up to my keyboard standalone.
Thanks for this. Helps me to understand in depth.
Hello This was very helpful. Can you do a video on how to setup . Multiple mics for the p16 talk Back for musicians
Hi! Unfortunately I do not currently have access to a p16 system, but as soon as I do I certainly will. In the meantime I would suggest exploring the p16 section of the routing options in the X32. It's pretty similar to the other routing options.
you should also do a recording , to prove that is working with no issues .. and all are truly on diff tracks .
If you use the chapter links in the description you can jump to the finished product at 7:22 to see the sounds coming out of their separate channels. The midi will be recorded on the channel where the instrument plugin is and all of the audio will come out of the separate tracks you’ve created for each instrument.
Nice clip..I am on the fence about a stereo unit the Neve 1073 Dbx or two RND Newton channels I may end up getting both options or get the neveDPX and two RND 500 series 542 tape emulator yep I think the last option is the best,,cause I for sure need the Neve dpx unit but getting 2 Newton channels would just cost too much and the reason I wanted those was for the silk red and blue circuits..but your choice of the WA73 is a great upgrade…those vocal stacks sounded nice bro..
hey , followed the steps .. but when i made the track from the Aux - its still recording all the midi notes ..? Did i miss something?
Yes, all of the midi will be on the one track but each sound will be coming out of it’s own separate track for mixing. You can then choose to bounce each track individually if you need to export them separately for mixing in a different DAW.
How set up usb to listen music
How to setup xlr and aux
Need help with x32 rack please
What specific help do you need?
Like effects male to female
Thanks
Cool 👍
Thanks for such a helpful video. I love your ideas. Would like to have seen more examples of everything you described; perhaps still shots of each wall/angle of the space, plus where you place the singers/musicians who record there.
@@Ky6Stringer Glad this helped. The singers stand in the space right behind my chair. If you watch the Vlog #2 video where I recorded lead vocals for my EP you’ll see an example of the placement.
Can you do a vid on live drums mixing
I absolutely will!
Remix😂😂😂
Amen! Thanks for this info. I've been searching for weeks trying to figure this out
Thanks bro you really bless me with this educational vid.🎉🎉😊😅
For context I am using the Adam A7X studio monitors and they hold them very well. They are way more solid than they look in the picture on the website. I was skeptical too at first lol
yeah curious if those stands will support 8" speakers. I am currently using smaller 4" speakers to mount my 8" speakers on, some clamp mounts would be sort of cool piece of upholstered furniture used as a footstool or low seat. There are ottoman table stools though that have a little centre table area in the centre of it The mop holder concept for stuff is great... I am weighing getting a 2pack of stainsteel holders rather than plastic.. great tip.
Super helpful video!! This is just what I was looking for to help with my church's livestream audio. God bless you for making this video!
