    Just did mine on my 2009 I couldn't get the top hose off the thermostat housing. You used a screw driver I had to resort to a small crow bar, the whole front of the housing broke off, instead of the two separating. With some difficulty I separated them but ordered a new top hose when I bought the new housing, just as well because the new hose had the O ring seal in a different position. The new housing wouldn't push onto the old top hose. So my advice would be to replace both. I was also advised to replace the hose that comes from the 90 degree plastic fitting to the left hand side of the thermostat housing, it goes into the block. When I removed the old one I found it had a crack in it, so while you are doing the housing it's probably a good idea to replace this hose, my mechanic advised me they fail at about the same time. My wife informed me that her 2007 was showing low coolant light yesterday, upon inspection I found her vehicle was also leaking at the thermostat housing !! I now have to do the same job on her car, separate cars with vastly different miles, same problem within a week of each other, what are the odds ?? Bottom left torque screw on the housing is a bit tricky bottom right is a bit more tricky, order a spare because there's a good chance of dropping it into a spot where you can't retrieve it ! Thanks for your video.

    Not sure if this will cure my growling/grinding of rocks sound when at low speeds or pulling away (not once up and running or out of gear. And perfect shifting so not transaxle or transmission as feared. Been doing it for 8 years from probably at around 60k) but your video was great and I have ordered the part. Thanks so much!!! Totally get your relief when the fix worked!

    Thank you Thank you Thank you for showing how to do ALL FOUR of the spark plugs on Bank 2(Passenger side). Most only show one on each side or some variation of that. And Bank 1(Driver side) is fairly easy to do. I was wondering what that tube was and figured it had to be part of or something to do with the wiring harness. I was scared to bend it. But I like how you showed the portion that was just a clip the harness was held by. I thought it was a plug point. Nissan wants almost $900 for this job and it doesn't make sense. They keep saying they have to remove the Plenum gasket which is part of the intake and the intake clearly DOESN"T need to be removed to do this job. I believe the labor alone for this job is $700. This video deserves at least a thousand likes. Have a blessed one!

    Anyone know why mine is suddenly making a humming sound while driving? Once I get to 30mph it humms almost as if I have large truck tires but there is nothing wrong or new with my tires. It sounds like its coming from the center of the engine compartment. I'm thinking it could be the differential but I have no idea the symptoms of that I'm about to change the transmission fluid because it is well past due extremely old the color of the transmission fluid is that of watered down motor oil but the odd thing is there's no transmission issues no slipping no grinding just this humming sound while driving even if you let off the accelerator it hums or if you drive at a consistent speed the sound is very consistent it doesn't get louder or softer it only stops when you stop. I noticed one of the CV axles boots were torn but I don't know for how long so I replaced the entire axle and it still making that noise there doesn't seem to be any performance issues everything's driving like normal

    Terrible design. Need to replace these annually if possible. They are ment to support teh weight of the engine/tras and dampen vibrations. They are NOT made to be pulled UP on which is what happens when you accelerate. All teh torque form that 3.8 pulls UP on the rubber mount with one bolt securing it. Other cars have dog bone up top so the torque pulls on the car's frame. I changed mine by placing a jack under teh trans pan (with a 2' 2x4 distributign the load so you dont' punch a hole in the pan) and simple jacked the engine up 3-4 " until I could remove the mount and slide the new one in, lower the weight back onto it, then dont' super tighten the bolt until after you idle the car for a few minutes so the thing settels in place. Easy peasy and the part costs $40-50. So incredibley stupid they didn't put dog bones or soemthing. So many of these cars end up in junk yards becuase peopel are told they need a new trans or something. On antoher site we brainstormed about possible ways to improve your car. One guy welded csomething so when the engine pulls up it contacts a new rubber/steel mount.

    I like Nissan trucks however, the air box design seems poor. Had more than one mechanic either break a clip or install a new filter with the lid not properly seated. Normally, I'd say it was just me, however, when two different mechanics have not done it properly, it seems there must be a better design.

    How would you know if doing this is a bad idea? Would I need to check the fluid first for a color ? Don’t notice any slips in the trans or anything while driving Have a Buick park ave with 146k miles.

    • @jasonsshop
      @jasonsshop ปีที่แล้ว

      If you're not having any issues I'd leave it alone, but if you want to check on the fluid color, it should be a nice pink or reddish color. If it's dark brown it's time to have it changed, also sometimes it may be dark brown and have a "burnt" smell to it. Then it's time to change it.

    I just did this on my 2000 park ave! Thank you, one problem, a couple of the bolts stripped when I was removing the pan and now I need replacements. Do you know which type of bolt they are? Thanks!

    • @jasonsshop
      @jasonsshop ปีที่แล้ว

      Nick, I'm not sure what type they are. You can take one of the bolts to a local hardware store, or stop by your local GM dealer with the bolt, and I'm sure they can help you find something to match up. Also your local Auto Parts store might have some handy. One thing -Make sure the bolt has stripped, and not the hole itself. If I remember right, the transmission is cast aluminum, if you stripped out the hole, you'll probably need to buy a HeliCoil kit to put the threads back in. Good luck!
