Check bear 650. It's also awesome
Have the same bike same colour, awesome bike at the price point
Absoluetly I enjoyed riding it. This is a great machine.
I have a 2019 classic, the seat I had redone, the plastic speedo surround was fine for 12000 miles, then it started to vibrate at low speed, checked it, but can stop this , anyone had this problem and fixed it
Nice. It is a nice bike
Have you ridden a Harley with her? We have a road glide limited.
I have not rode the road glide or street glide or any of Harleys big touring bikes yet. I've rode the Indian pursuit and challenger and thought that those were great bikes. I'll probably get to ride Harleys bikes this coming spring or summer though to see how they feel.
I have to turn off the muscle memory to monitor the motor, or think about the bike, when riding the DCT. Especially maneuvering low speed since the computer won't let it stall no how.
Yes. It takes a some getting used too but isn't that hard to adapt too and really simplifies the riding experience.
The best alternative is a manual with quick shift.
Yes I enjoy a good quickshifter
Had a 2020. I put a larger front pulley on, Ivans tune and a windscreen. Was fun for what it was. Did several 300 mile short days and a few longer ones but would not do more than that. It actually does better than one would think in the higher rpm's. Stepped up to a Vaquero for the power, 6th gear, cruise and wind protection. With the price i would agree...not enough bike for the money.
Agree I enjoyed it like a lot but it is a limited bike in certain situations. The vaqeuro i imagine is a great bike. I've not rode many baggers but would definitely would ride it if given the chance. I rode the goldwing and pursuit limited and those were fantastic bikes.
My friend has one, it’s incredibly smooth.
Yeah I enjoyed it, was fun comfortable bike
Yes
I believe it is. It is a fun little bike and so easy at the same time. I really liked it and makes me want one after test riding.
It just didn't have the freeway performance I needed in a cruiser. Going 80 felt like I was redlining the entire time. I hated it.
Yes I agreed. I figured above 60 or 65 it would start vibing a little too much in the handlebars. It needs a 6th gear and little more torque and power. It's a nice bike though and makes a good sound, I won't deny that. Definitely overpriced for what you get though.
I ride my Honda shadow on the freeway at 80 quite often. Slow, yes but it gets the job done.
@IronRoadWarrior nice. I have not rode the the shadow yet but I really like the looks of the phantom a lot, and I love me a good v twin.
This motorcycle is perfect. They have reduced everything you need to the essentials, where you just get on the motorcycle and ride. As an owner, you will not have any technical problems with this motorcycle.
Yeah Kawasaki is super reliable, I owned a vulcan 650 s as my first ever bike and had 13k miles and was running better when we sold it then when we bought it. The sound the 900 makes is really nice, not fast but it has good feel and sound to it.
Seems like a decent bike, but for the money id expect more. 2025 base starts at $9.4k. Especially with no tach and gear indicator...
💯 it's definitely overpriced. It should come with little more for that price. It makes a great noise though and is comfy.
@@bikerbeliever8169 yeah it seems like a great bike for what it is (entry level cruiser) but it's just not price accordingly. If this was 5k or less like you said id think this would be a great entry level cruiser.
Agree 👍 💯
I just traded in my Multistrada 950S for one of these. It's just really pleasant to ride. I also had the Stelvio for a test ride, because I was interested in the new watercooled V2, but I found the V85 more interesting and playful. Lovely machine, can't wait to rack up the miles next season.
It's interesting u say that because I found the same with the v85tt in comparison to the stelvio. I like the stelvio a lot but the v85 was just more characterful and the short time I had with both bikes I found it to handle slightly better and just enjoyed it more. It is a seriously good and overlooked bike.
I have v85 tt 2023 model, Overall is easy to ride bike, soft suspension, comfortable seat, wide handlebar and better for off road than i expected. And after all comes with lower price than competitors and more spirit!
It's a great bike. Handles good and just quality machine with tons of character.
Personally I can’t take any motorcyclist who rides in shirtsleeves seriously.
Mmmmmk
Well i understand your safety concern BUT! Depend in what conditions you ride,During summer and just last summer i had more than +40°C at that temperature everything more than t shirt will cause exessive sweating which makes ride unplesant Therefore Safety first when applicable otherwise NIYET!
😂...
Nice bike😊
Sure is!
2023 e5 85tt owner here and with the cat delete, vtwin boost and velocity stack and high flow airfilter my bike now really romps. my advice, find a clean used one for about 2/3rds the price of new and put in the hop up kit from mistral. I really like this bike, makes my old gs1150 feel like a tank and my 650 husky feel like a toy. the guzzi wont feel broken in until 12,000 miles and several oil changes - motor, tranny, rear diff. good fair review, keep up the good work young man!
Thanks for the info and tips, I agree the moto guzzi feels like a solid machine, I thought the same thing when I had my husky svartpilen 701, that it felt toy like and my guzzi v7 850 felt like a piece of iron machinery.
Glad you liked the V100 Mandello! I recently bought a '24 V100 Mandello Aviazione Navale, and replaced the OEM exhaust with a big-bore Agostini header, y-pipe, and Mistral muffler (dB killer in). I was not a fan of the OEM catalytic converter and muffler, and taking the OEM heat shields off actually made the OEM header pipes look a lot better, but I still ended up replacing the whole exhaust. A few months before I got the V100, I bought a '23 V7 850 Special Edition, and the difference in riding them is like night and day. I think the V7's transmission is smoother, the V100 "clunks" when going from neutral into first at a stop. I only have 300 miles so far on the V100, and I'm hoping the trans will get smoother as the miles go up, so we'll see. The V100 is the seventh Guzzi I've owned over the last 40 years, and like you mentioned in your video, they have "character", especially with that side-to-side rocking motion of the engine.
Yes sir!! We owned a 2021 v7 850 stone and was fantastic bike. Im hoping, Lord willing, to get the new 2025 v7 sport when it releases. I Don't think I've rode a Guzzi I didn't enjoy and I've rode several.
These V100s have the BEST sounding factory exhaust. It doesn’t need replacing! The video sound does them NO justice.
Agreed, it was windy too that day and very hard to get good audio. Need way better sound equipment, but yes that v100 and stelvio motor is great sounding, good character as well. One of the best sounding modern engine designs for sure.
I LOVED my test ride. It will be my next bike in 2025.
It's a fantastic bike, I seen a black one and oh my goodness I thought it was drop dead gorgeous bike in the black metallic color with the gold contrasting engine valve covers and wheels. I would totally own this bike and be very proud of it.
@@bikerbeliever8169 Yeah, but the red with gold engine and black wheels is HOT. I have a BMW 1250 GS Trimble black already and an Aprilia RSVR 1000 that I’m getting painted in Italian flag colors… I want them to each stand out in their own way! 😉
Absolutely. I think it looks good in every color scheme, but my personal preference is black with gold, I'd still take any of them including the red and gold. It is a sexy machine.
I have the new Stelvio, and I absolutely love it, and it fits me much better than the V85. I like to ride with on the balls of my feet, and the foot peg mounts gets in my way and that really ruins it for me. The Stelvio has a lot more power and having a quick shifter makes it awesome to ride. V85 does handle great, have a good friend who can haul the mail on one in the mountains. He smokes a lot of high HP performance machines. Both are great bikes, and for the money the V85 is amazing. Love me some Moto Guzzi's
Yes I rode both and I love both, but they are different and slightly different character, but both still great machines. Moto Guzzi is just killing it with all their bikes.
I want this bike. I have the suzuki 1000 dl I'm 55 and want to downsize to this bike. Had a guzzi v35 82 model in the 90s I want to be a guzzisti
No bike like a Guzzi, the character and style, they r such great and unique machines.
@bikerbeliever8169 the Italians say BMW moves your body and Guzzi moves your soul
@alxx1378 good saying
I am 71 years old and have owned motorcycles since 1967, so I am not a beginner. I bought a 2024 Eliminator SE and love it. I sold the last Harley I will ever own last Fall and bought the Eliminator. They say the Eliminator will run 100mph. I've had mine to 85 several times and it will cruise at 80 all day long. It is peppy with its parallel twin engine and one of the best cornering bikes I've ever owned. Kawasaki equipped it with good size tires so it seems very stable at highway speeds. Who could ask for anything more?
I agree it is a great little bike. I was so surprised by how much I enjoyed it and liked it. It's a great beginner bike, but it's just a great bike in general for all skill levels. I had a ton of fun on it. The motor was peppy and fun and made a good sound and handled superb. Great little bike.
@@bikerbeliever8169 It is a lot more fun than the $37,000 Harley I just sold. I am now sold on Kawasaki. I thought about a Vulcan S, and even at my age I thought about a Ninja 650. Bith great bikes. But I am very happy with the Eliminator.
Hello. Are you able to compare this C85 to Stelvio?
I rode both at the demo and both are great. I may try to do a comparison breakdown of what I thought between the two. I may actually prefer the v85tt, I thought it handled a little better and had a tad more character. The stelvio is great too though, obviously a little more pep and is gonna do better offroad than the v85. However slightly less character, little taller, handles good but not quiet as sporty feeling on the road as the v85 imo, but still good. Both are good but just slightly different takes on the adv category.
Good Video!! I like the looks of this bike a lot!! A little too tall for me though....I have never ridden any of the smaller block Guzzi's--I will have to try one sometime!! Hope to run in to you two again somewhere!! Keep Riding!!😎
Yes it was great meeting you and yes very good looking bike and rides great as well.
Gorgeous bike.
It sure is!
It's purty, nice and good. I was hoping to get some technical information on the bike, but honestly, I love this new style of light touch motorcycle journalism.
Yeah I'm more interested in the sound and feel over the specs.
When I see these Guzzi's they just look wonderful! And like they'll last and last! Been years since I tried one, it was an older model, but still going... For touring this would be 👍
Guzzis are the best!!! My favorite bike make for sure.
Thanks for a great review and enthusiasm. If you would like this motor and DCT in a road bike Honda has you covered. It doesn't look as stunning as the AT but is called the NT1100 and has all the polish of the AT with some adjustments specifically for the road. Looks pretty fine though, Google it. Cheers from Sydney Australia.
We don't get the nt1100 in the USA!!! BUT WE PLAN on getting the rebel 1100 soon hopefully.
So much fun to ride this ride again!! Great discussion of the V100 Mandello!! I see now why the last few riders were late--they got caught at the light you blipped through!! LOL!! Did you ride any of the other bikes? Enjoyed meeting you two and talking bikes!!
Yeah I rode the v85tt I'll post that video here soon.
@@bikerbeliever8169 I look forward to seeing it!!
Prefer my manual 2022 ES 21 inch - It's a proper adventure bike.
The bike is great, the motor is fantastic I really enjoyed it.
Isn’t there different levels of the sport mode like 1, 2 and three? Also, I didn’t see you playing with the electronic suspension, which is a huge advantage for this bike. Sweet bike that many don’t really appreciate unless they own it and then realize how good of a bike it is.
I'm sure there is, I was focused more on the way the bike rode, this was also my first time riding honda and first time with the dct and first time with this motor, so it was where most of my attention went. There appeared to be all kinds of settings which I didn't touch. It was a fantastic bike. I really like the motor and it handled pretty good on road too. Great bike.
@@bikerbeliever8169 yeah that’s my point depending on the riding mode you’re using you’re gonna wanna switch the suspension for example if you’re doing touring and more aggressive, you want the suspension set up firm. I wish I had the electronic suspension unfortunately I only got the manual suspension and I noticed when you change it, it makes a huge difference. I can only imagine having it with a flick of a button basically transforming the bike into multiple bikes. 👍🏻
Th layout is similar to a scrambler. I wonder if it would handle mild off road. Like dirt roads and fire roads. Put some 50/50 tires on it.
No idea but it was a great little bike. I really enjoyed riding it. The motor is peppy and it handles good and is just easy and fun bike.
Nice Video Dude!! Kinda Cool to see the ride that I was on from a different perspective!! Great to meet you two!! Personally, I wasn't as impressed with the V100 as I thought and hoped that I would be. The clutch was "thrumping" and pulsing with the engine to the point where I could feel it in the lever, which also seemed like it was grabbing just a little--though that is probably something that could be adjusted out (which must have been misbehaving already, anyway, since they ran her to the shop to bleed the hydraulic clutch system just prior to me riding her!). Also, the throttle on/off transitioning was not smooth in "Road" mode and was throwing my line off in the curves during minor throttle inputs--which could be attributed to my unfamiliarity with the bike or the particular ride mode that I was in (Note: Ride in Sport mode next time!!). However, on a positive vibe, the V100 was still a blast to ride with great sound, handling, looks, wind protection, and power!! Also, I was Highly impressed with the Event organization and the ride route and ALL the people I met!! Thank you Moto Guzzi and HBR for the Free Ride!! Thanks Biker Believer for the video!!
Hey it was great to talk to you as well and meet you. I agree there was a throttle on off that was noticeable. The brake grabbed hard fast too. The clutch was way far out adjusted on mine made it hard for me to take off and shift smooth, but the bike the motor and sound and handling I liked on the stelvio. My wife liked the red v100 so your bike may have had an issue on the clutch possibly too, may needed to be bled or something get the air outta the system possibly. It was fun event though and good crowd too as well.
@@bikerbeliever8169 Did you get to ride any of the other Guzzi's?
Yeah I rode the v85tt with my wife rising two up with me and my wife rode the v100 as well that first ride. I'll post videos for those soon.
@@bikerbeliever8169 Looking forward to seeing the Videos!!
❤
I got my f900r and g310r from that Middletown dealer. The g310 is definitely down on power so you have to ring it out which makes it fun to ride. Love the bike though it’s really fun and lightweight.
Yes definitely underpowered, but makes for some high revving fun. Oh and it makes a unique sound too which is always fun.
Yes, at least for me. I’ve owned about 35-40 different bikes in my multiple decades of riding. Suspension is fantastic, the engine is strong and the cargo capacity is really good. I own a 2023 Pursuit Dark horse Icon. I changed out the handlebars to KST Lakotas, added a heel shifter and changed out the exhaust to Rinehart 4.5” moto pro’s
Oh man this bike with an exhaust would sound fantastic. That motor makes a good note.
Got one and after 4000 miles nothing but great things to say. You really do get all those buttons and DCT but give it about 1000 miles to really dial it in and it goes from good to great
Yes it was awesome and would only get smoother and better as all the parts seat in better. Fantastic machine.
Would like to see you off roading with it!
Yeah I know, it's new bike so I figure dealer wouldn't like that lol.
Best bike ever
It's a great machine absolutely
As nice as Honda’s DCT is, I feel like I’d miss having the clutch control. Amazing bike nonetheless! I definitely want one.
I still enjoy using the clutch too, the dct isn't bad though and actually is pretty good and if it can draw more riders into motorcycling I'm all for it. I think the new e clutch and autos coming from other bike makers will hopefully draw more riders into motorcycling. The more people we got riding the better.
Not a bad review for a first time DCT and Africa Twin ride. I’m on my 5th DCT bike and 1 Yamaha YCCS (clutch lever less) bike. Takes a while to get used to them and learn how to effectively use one to its capabilities. Once you do, you won’t look back! Ride safe…ps: hated my first DCT bike! lol
Nice!! I really enjoyed it and was so surprised by it. I liked the bike all round, it was ton of fun.
Im 5'7 haven't had the chance to sit on the bike yet. Would it he a bit if a stretch for me height wise ? Talkest bike ive sat on had a 31.5 seat. Thanks
Uhm it would be a slight stretch, but I think if your comfortable being on your toes and leaning off one side of the bike if necessary you could do it. I recommend going to dealer and just asking if you can sit on one, that's the best way to find out. I actually put a lowering kit on my bike to try and make it to where my wife would be able to comfortably be able to touch. She's 5'4 and on her tip toes. She could do it if she was motivated.
@@bikerbeliever8169 what can you tell me about the lowering kit? All I saw was a lowering bushing on the CFmoto website, but no instructions to download to see if it's all you need to lower it.
It's a lowering ring. It wasn't expensive, I can't remember if got off ebay or Amazon. You have to remove the rear suspension, which isn't too bad or don't take too long. Under 30 minutes if I remember correct, maybe way quicker if you know where your tools are. The spring has to be compressed with a press, a strap wont do, it has to be compressed all the way almost, the stock spring is very stiff. Then once you have it back on the bike you got to redo the preload which is easy as well.
@@bikerbeliever8169 thanks! the height of the Ibex is what is holding me back from picking one up, I like to have as good a footing as possible on taller bikes.
I have a 2024 1100DCT. I love it. I can focus more on riding and on traffic than on gears. Great in stop and go traffic.
Yes I was so surprised by it and really want one now. My wife loved it and now she wants one too. We will, Lord willing, probably be getting the rebel 1100 se dct that was just announced by Honda for my wife.
That's my dream bike right there... thank you for the review and stay blessed.
Your welcome and it's fantastic bike.
Thanks for the review. What is the appropriate height to ride this bike?
I'm 6 foot 1 and I could flat foot on both sides fine. It is a taller bike though and I think there is different seat height options available, depending on which subtrim of bike you get and maybe even different seat options possibly for shorter or taller riders, if I'm not mistaken.
@@dyeahodar3397I’m 5’6” on a good day and can easily handle an Africa Twin. However, I had to get the lower seat.
No. I still want one very badly.
Such a good bike, I'd like to have one too 😀
Hi brother.. will you review an africa twin on the channel? Stay blessed and i wish you all the best your reviews are great.
Yes, I just did, just got to post the video
Thanks for doing this video. I appreciate it. Question for you, I'm 642 and 300 lb. Will this be a good fit for me? I live in Miami florida, where is there is just flat terrain. I do not plan going on the highway with it. Thank you👍
Yes, absolutely
@@bikerbeliever8169 thank you for the reply
I bought mine about a month ago. Still need to register it. I have the 2024 Pursuit Darkhorse in the dark blue. I've had a couple dozen bikes in my life and this is by far the best/most comfortable I've ever had.
Yes I loved it in the short time I had with it and I enjoyed the challenger dark horse as well. Very nice machine.
Thanks for showing this. This is exactly the idea I had and it's nice to see it done. My dog is the same size. I'm thinking about making the hole a little smaller so she can't fit her shoulders through. And I feel better about the hard box in case the bike drops or something so she's not crushed in the soft sided carrier I have now.
Yeah it's very simple and it holds up better over time than the softer bags. This is the way to do it if you plan on your best friend riding with you a lot for years to come. You could make some more ventilation depending on what area you live or ride in. I put a small blanket in mine for my short haired pup for comfort.
